How do you pick colors for your artwork? Its always so pretty!!!

TBH, I don’t even know what the heck I am doing half the time when it comes to colors lmao. I’ll try to give you a viewpoint on how I do it. 

It’s a mix of me either looking up palettes, sampling photographs with colors i like, using references (for example the space girls I used the planets) or just picking out colors that look aesthetically pleasing. I know it’s hard to find a balance with some colors, so I would advice looking up on color theory (something I should do in my spare time aswell lol) 

Also when it comes to shading, I usually do this

I rarely color with grays/blacks/whites or the same color but different shades of it. I usually pick another color that is nearby the original! Although, palettes and understanding color theory helps alot, because there’s alot more stuff to learn about. (and I think too much to write about picking correct colors or nice colors lol) Hope this gave an idea though! <3
