I cannot agree more about your thoughts on the trailer. As an Arthas fan, I hate it too.
It's just like. C'mon. C'mon. Uther was better than that. Uther knew better. And Arthas was driven mad by the thought of what was happening to his people. His intentions with stopping Mal'Ganis were of saving his people, and he gets no redemption in the afterlife, despite arguably being the character who needed it the most, and he's not given it because of his mentor.
