Arthur seems like the kind of dad who really wouldn't have wanted anything to do with Faroe after she could talk. He for sure would have grown horribly uncomfortable and delegated even more of her care to Tess the Maid. (Pre-ramble caveat: I blitz-listened to this show so I might be misremembering details)

I’m back at it again angry at how Yellow’s potential is wasted by malevolent - Yellow was such a compelling character for so many reasons, especially given the fact that podcast is all about redemption and hope! But then, as soon as John comes back, Yellow is literally forgotten about by Arthur until he shows up again with Larson??? Like how does that make sense, when Arthur should be pretty motivated to try and to redeem him, especially with the added pressure of Kayne literally staking their deal in the cabin on that redemption?

(Tbh I’m also frustrated with how resistant Arthur is in like, actually doing anything to redeem Yellow but that’s another whole rant)

I’m quite frustrated because the fandom is so good at this in comparison (shoutout to all the authors out there who've written the lovely fics I've been reading again and again, y'all are amazing!) I’ve seen so many amazing fanfictions that cover this concept or actually delve into yellow as a character (other than making him an angry caricature of John). As ever it’s like, why couldn’t the main podcast do this when fans can do it so effectively? Especially given the potential of the concept of Yellow? You meet a version of a person you love, who you sacrificed your life for, but they've changed. How do you cope? How do you move forwards, knowing they're different but still loving them? And from Yellow's side, it's so tragic or horrific - how do you become someone else, not even knowing who you are? How do you live in the shadow of someone you don't recognize, but want to?

(like, Arthur goes with bitter/angry/grieving, which is fine, but like, dig into it more. Or, given *gestures at the themes of hope/redemption* have the bad stuff be balanced with actual positive interactions.)

My feelings about this generally boil down to:

‘Redemption of a character (who isn’t the main) in my podcast about redemption and hope? It’s less likely than you think!’

Where did they teach you that one needs to give birth to be considered pregnant? Not having the baby doesn’t cancel one’s pregnancy, it just means one got some sort of abortion.

And yes I will consider it mpreg, but rather a more parasitic pregnancy. The purpose of the fetus being within a womb during pregnancy is to feed on/ steal the nutrients from the mother/ host. The witch maggot-pregged Arthur for that: So they’d feed on his insides while evolving from larvae/ nymphs (depending on what kinds of bugs they were, I don’t think it was specified) to a more stable/ capable form. Not only they were the bugs of a witch, but also this happened in someone against a uterus (and was parasitic), so of course standard human pregnancy definitions don’t cover it, we must interpret it through magic.
