◖ @ketsuzoku ◗ called out:
“Hey!” Shirley hollers at Lear as he gives a nimble jog over, hands behind his back with gift in tow. He's actually dressed up for the occasion, heels clicking on the paved ground in a bright white blouse and jeans combo.
“I, ah, really appreciated the gift! Even if uh, Edward bullied me a little after, haha...” He feels a little silly getting all fluttery like this, so he simply shoves the gift forward, unable to make eye contact. “So, uh, I-- we, got you this. I hope it's to your liking.”
Inside is a simple gold watch. The face is pearlescent with gold details. The second hand is happily ticking away. He really hopes it's enough.
LEAR DOESN’T HAVE to look up to recognize the voice calling out to him; the list of voices that didn’t make his day significantly more annoying was a short one, after all. He turns to regard Shirley as the other approaches, sporting a small smile that becomes ever so slightly cheekier at Shirley’s verbal stumbling... Though he’s thrown for a small loop himself at the prospect of receiving a gift.
... But ( unfortunately ), the prince is nothing if not charming if he puts his mind to it. Regardless of if Shirley is looking, Lear flashes a grin, hands brushing against Shirley’s own as he moves to accept the gift.
❝’Bullied’, hm? I can’t imagine what for.❞
He mercifully decides not to push any further than that, opting instead to open the gift, brows lifting at the sight of the accessory inside. A simple gift, for sure, but one that matched his usual palette, and was perhaps the most fitting for someone like Lear who was always working on something time sensitive. Examining it for a second longer, he moves to slip it onto his wrist.
❝Thank you. I’ll be sure to put it to good use.❞
