Had a funny idea for a No Order 66 AU mini-fic last night and I just had to write it down 🤣
My Own Mini-Me
“Wow - talk about not needing a DNA test!” Ahsoka exclaimed as she took in the scene before her. “You weren’t kidding, he really does look exactly like you did at that age!”
Anakin was positively beaming as he knelt next to his son. Luke was a couple months past his infamous “terrible twos”, yet the transition seemed to have rendered him painfully shy. He could do nothing except stare up at his “Auntie Ahsoka” with wide eyes as his thumb took up residence in his mouth. His father’s former padawan had a small holoprojector in her hand, which had the holo of a young Anakin floating above it. Luke had been dressed in a similar attire to his father in the holo. Other than a few extra curls in his hair, courtesy of his mother, Luke may as well as been Anakin’s young copy.
“Actually…” Ahsoka’s surprise turned to confusion as her eyes flicked back and forth between the holo and the boy. “Is that the exact same outfit?” She looked over at Padmé, who was sitting with their daughter. Leia had decided that the scene wasn’t worth her time, instead focusing her attention on building a tower out of play blocks. “Where did you find Tatooine fashion on Coruscant?”
Padmé delicately shrugged. “A Senator has her connections,” she revealed cryptically. “And Anakin really wanted his own ‘mini-me’.”
“Who doesn’t?” was Anakin’s only defense as he picked up Luke and held him against his hip. “Rex and the boys have their own army of ‘mini-mes’; why can’t I have at least one?”
“Are you kidding?” Ahsoka snorted, turning off the projector and setting it aside. “Because then the Maker would be backloaded with prayers along the lines of please, not another Anakin Skywalker!”
Anakin guffawed while Padmé laughed politely behind her hand. “Surprisingly, Luke only resembles his father in terms of appearance,” she claimed. “I’d say Leia resembles him more attitude-wise.” Her arm wrapped around her daughter’s shoulders to give her a squeeze. “Don’t you, our little sassy-pants?”
“Mommy, my tower!” Leia whined, annoyed at being distracted from her work. Her mother relinquished her hold on her with a giggle, shooting Ahsoka a look that said see what I mean?
Ahsoka gasped in mock horror. “So we have three Anakin Skywalkers on our hands? Oh boy, I better start praying now!” She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together, tilting her head back. “Maker-”
“You know what, you two are just mean!” Anakin scolded them, hoisting Luke higher into his arms. “We don’t have to take this - me and my ‘mini-me’ are getting ice cream!” He turned on his heel with an indignant sniff before striding towards the door. Luke sheepishly waved goodbye over his father’s shoulder.
“Daddy, I want ice cream too!” Leia cried at the idea of being left out. She willingly left her tower unfinished to chase after her father and brother, all while her mother and auntie cackled behind her.
“You and I both know that the true power in this world isn’t fame or fortune. It’s fear. Become what others fear most, and you’ll find that there’s no limit to the control you can take.
“Which begs the question… what is it that you fear most?”
I just think that things would get interesting if these two ever met.
Eli bends a knee to no authority. Every rule, she views as more of a “suggestion”. But after learning about Sora, her ancestor and the very first Master of Technology, and hearing the story of how she and her allies liberated Imperium, she’s the only person Eli would even consider bowing to. She’s even prone to invoking Sora’s name when she’s exasperated or stressed. Sayings like “Sora give me strength!” Or “Oh, for the love of Sora!”
Even today, Eli gazes upon her ancestor’s statue with childlike wonder. She dreams of one day accomplishing something worthy of Sora’s legacy.
Fun Fact: Eli’s skin is a few shades lighter than her mother’s, which is another nod to her Whack Rat genes! Like most other mammals, a rat’s fur coat acts as a natural shield against UV radiation. Her father’s actually pretty pasty beneath all that fur!

The Empire was birthed from blood. Blood from innocents, blood from the Jedi, blood from every single clone trooper who unknowingly assisted in its rise to power. When Order 66 came through, every hope for after the war was slowly squashed. The Jedi were eradicated; the clones were replaced; freedom throughout the galaxy was taken away bit by bit. After its creation, it continued to regularly collect its pound of flesh. It took nearly 24 years to depose of such a tyrannical regime.
Kix emerged from cryostasis to a galaxy so different from the one he had left. His brothers were gone and all their hopes for after the war had been thoroughly dashed. So Kix clings to the image of the Old Republic. Not just because it represents the world he had been so cruelly ripped from. Because it represents his brothers, their hopes and dreams, and the galaxy they had been so patiently waiting for. The galaxy that could have been if he had only been able to warn them sooner.
But even so, he’s as brittle and bitter as everyone else who had survived the war. The Empire took his Republic, and the First Order thinks it can take what’s left. Kix has a message for them:
Beware of the soldier who had everything taken from him.
(Also, yes the lyrics are from Hazbin Hotel because I heard “Gravity” and immediately thought of Kix!)
