Saw that egregious “intersex oc” anon and decided to share my OC I made as an intersex person.
He’s an older man who is often secluded and prefers his own company or that of his dogs, born in the late 50’s in a fishing town. He’s an independent investigator of anomalous occurrences and extraterrestrial beings (he was the kid who insisted aliens and ghosts are real 24/7). He is aroace and sex/romance repulsed which is in some way influenced by the IGM and CIMI he endured growing up during a time where his variation was even more heavily misunderstood. He has tried “living the American dream” but it took a while for him to realise that trying to fit the pericishet mould wasn’t fulfilling to him, or even viable once kids were brought up. Colleagues often “joke” about him being an anomaly or alien for very ableist/intersexist reasons. Regardless he is the best investigator in the US and he’s usually unbothered by peoples comments, sometimes reclaiming the jokes and allowing it to have people keep their distance. He also talks to anomalies and extraterrestrials casually as if they’re just some guy and the lack of fear is what makes him so good at his job. I imagine his voice to be similar to Cornfed from Duckman.
(As for his variation, I opted for it to not be obvious due to the many times intersex people are unaware of their own variation and for people to kinda project their own variation onto him. Only fair seeing as I project mine.)

Ohhhhh hell fucking yeas a palate cleanser for the blog. I love this dude I'm usually more a fan of determined variations in characters but I love how the self-interpretation really works here because he truly is Just A Dude. hell yeas fuck ues. I just know he doesn't call himself aroace too he says that shit his own way and I loooove that difference in queer characters too. I wonder more how he feels and talks about his intersexuality itself woaur...

Ok its been enough time and I got art of him so hi this was my OC! His name is Dean and he is designed to be a projection character for my cluster a stuff + aroace feelings + intersex trauma (and is based off of an alter. He said it was ok) He is a huge meteorology nerd which was fueled by that alien obsession + The Incident and is one of those "very unsociable and many think he's rude but he's the best damn guy for the job" guy whether it's his current job investigating anomalies or his past in meteorology where he has warned the US government of anomalous activity and was ignored until it became too big to ignore.
When it comes to his sexuality he is in affect aroace and romance/sex repulsed but doesn't call himself that. In fact he has never considered himself much of a label taker and probably can't even tell you much about himself because the dissociation is so high. He has lived a solid 40 years before any positive opinion about intersex people got traction, so on top of how others have treated him he harbors a sense of detachment from his personhood. His body disgusts him. His body is perfection. No it isn't. Yes it is <3
Things he never admits: He is a fantastic artist, specifically architecture and geometric abstract art. He flunked out of art college because he refused to draw anything else. He also has CD playlists full of 80's female pop artists, Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner to name a few, all as pre-work hype music. It's a crazy contrast to see because he looks miserable when he's enjoying himself. He has equipment he should totally give back to the government but oh no he forgot to check his mailbox and he doesn't own a cellphone or a computer with anything more modern than windows XP!
He doesn't have a specified variation like I said because many in real life don't know their own and the privacy someone has about it (which Dean very much values. He does not like being known.) tends to annoy people. I experience this a lot where people just really want to know my "variation" so they can put a label on me, but he also serves as a way to unite a very universal and painful experience intersex people have of being dehumanized and pressured to give up privacy in order to be given respect.
Ostracisation from others for being seen in affect (jokingly or otherwise) as anomalous and The Incident means he speaks to anomalies in ways you would an acquaintance. If some anomaly like The Soul Sucking Spine Snapper That Feeds On Fear appeared in his kitchen he would ask if he could please leave because he needs to feed his dogs they're fussy.
