Ian Malcolm is a better man than I am I would have started feeding people to the dinosaurs by the second movie
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Usually I would put off fics until the end of time, but this was an exception.
Don’t expect peak writing, but I needed to get it out.
RIP Sam Neill, 1947-2026 ❤️
The reason why so many of y'all's feminism sucks is because you still believe deep down in your hearts that there are only two kinds of people in the world: precious, ethereal, fragile dollthings called "women", and violent, lustful, rage-fueled apes called "men". Until you throw that idea away, 3rd-grade-tier "girls rule boys drool, girls are princesses and boys are stinky :(" is as feminist as we'll ever get-- and I hope it's obvious that that's lightyears away from the bare minimum of where we need to be.
Saying that trans men and trans women have unique experiences that cis men and cis women don't have, that we should consider this, is not misgendering. If you think adding trans onto "woman" or "man" and identifying the unique ways in which we exist in a sexgender binary system makes us LESS of that gender... Assess why you think that.
saw this on twitter and wanted to save it here

[ID: a screenshot of a comic speech bubble. The black text in it reads "No matter how open-minded, socially conscious, anti-racist I think I am, I still have old learned hidden biases that I need to examine. It is my responsibility to check myself daily for my stereotypes, prejudices and, ultimately, discrimination." /ID end]
antiracism is a constant process. i was raised in a racist village and it's not easy to get rid of it. i moved away over 10 years ago but those ideas are still haunting me.
also keep in mind that shame + guilt are not conducive to growing as a person. when it comes to "checking yourself" it should be a non-judgemental process. it's not about flagellating yourself for every bad thought or trying to purify your mind of all corruption. it's only when acknowledging your own racist thoughts doesn't fill you with dread that you can really progress past the white guilt of it all.
radical self-acceptance & genuine self-critique are not opposites. they need each other. do not let obsessive-compulsive behaviors colonize your desire to grow as a person.
Fun how the bystander effect was coined to cover up how cops are bigoted cowards who let a queer person die and stockholm syndrome was coined to cover that the cops handled a hostage situation so badly the hostages trusted their captors more than the cops.
i want to throw rocks at every single perisex being who uses agab terms whatsoever. please just shut up.
sometimes people will insist a character is butch/masc and then you look at the character and they’re just fat. or muscular. or black. or indigenous. or some combination of the above.

If you can understand that Evangelicals are being disingenuous when they claim to love Jews, owing to the fact that they only want Jews around because they believe this will bring about the end times where all Jews either convert or die- if you can understand that wanting to someone to convert or die isn't loving them- then you are capable of understanding that TERFs are ALSO being disingenuous when they claim to love trans men so long as they convert to TERFism
look i WISH more horror movies were just the directors thinly disguised fetish. instead we got all these horror movies that are just undisguised reflections of culturally hegemonic values and anxieties. like if we got some weird fetishes up in here it would probably add some variety thats all im saying.
i just got the "see where your blood has gone!" email from giving blood but it glitched and just showed me my current location. which. theyre not wrong. that is where most of my blood is
this is exactly how non kinsters sound when they jump into kink discussions to say "yeah! it's fine as long as you're all consenting adults!"
I completely understand and feel the frustration about trans people being fetishised based on their genitals (i.e. just seeing trans women as women with a penis + trans men as men with a vagina) and i'm not kidding when I say it helps to tell people that the reality is that anyone can have any set of genitals. You can be an intersex/varsex man or woman with a vagina/penis respectively and it is absolutely worth it to educate people about the fact that there is no specific genitalia you need to be a certain gender or queer identity.
"But when people see art/writing of a man with a vagina/woman with a penis the assumption is that they're trans!" Okay, we should change that. We should push for the acknowledgement of trans and cis people with all types of genitalia.
