A Lord of Darkness stands framed by the light he would rather keep out of his domain-  Possibly Sauron/Mairon inspired- Though it does bear some resemblance to the Witch King of Angmar...  One of those sketches that turned into a more complete work! Pencil/Charcoal with some digital edits

Digital versus Hand Drawn Portraits- -And a Suicide Squad tattoo commission! Tattoo and the left hand portrait were done using a Wacom graphics tablet and pen- So I have been super busy of late! Keeping the illustration business afloat- and there’s a lot of stuff I am waiting for publications etc so that imagery doesn’t get nabbed before it’s even released! Hopefully I’ll be able to upload some of my tarot card work soon- for now here are some more black and white portraits :)

Poster Design I conjured for a small production of Dracula- Intended to be part of an ongoing series involving all of the classic characters from victorian and gothic literature called ‘Gaslight Ghouls’- hence the large steampunk looking gas lamp in the middle there...

DRAGON PATH ORACLE CARDS!!! So I’m back! With a whole horde of dragons- these are just a few of the pack of 33 Oracle cards I have just finished designing for my Dragon Whisperer, teacher, healer and spiritual guide, Caroline Mitchell. Aquarius- Commission: A gift for a boy born in February- Slightly more ‘speed drawn’ than most of my other works... Still, I’m pleased with the way the colour turned out :) Note, the Amethyst hues, as the birthstone colour ^^ I think it looks a little like the chinese water dragon is having a casual conversation with Aquarius there... Digital Painting. Drawn using a Wacom Intuos tablet.

Test drawing for a commission- ‘The Empress’ (Or Persephone meets Cernunnos) Idea for ‘The Empress’ Tarot Card- This project I’m currently working on is heavily themed around witches and Occult/Pagan imagery- This one was partially inspired by Greek mythology (Persephone meeting Hades) and Celtic polytheism (Cernunnos) Digitally painted using my Wacom Tablet :)

Mordred: The Traitor’s Tale A few illustrations from the ‘Mordred’ Graphic Novel I’ve been working on... this has been put on hold lately- though I hope to go back to it eventually. Hand drawn with digital rendering-

Character Portrait (Pencil Drawing + Digital rendering) Grima Wormtongue  After watching Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, I found myself utterly mesmerized by Brad Dourif's performance. The portrayal of this character... the look, the speech, the movements and everything was captured absolutely perfectly! He was just such a deliciously malevolent, creepy and compelling character I felt quite obliged to try to capture it in this portrait... Plus he is terribly fun to draw! I am a huge Tolkienite and will fall for pretty much anything Rings, Silmarillion or Hobbit related In case you're wondering, this is hand drawn and the lighting/contrasting was enhanced on Photoshop, and yes this image has been posted in a few other places (this time I thought i’d upload it without that digitally added greenish tint- deciding that I prefer the black and white version).  Even though it was drawn well over 6 years ago- it remains one of my best drawn works to date in my opinion... my first really successful attempt at photorealism :)

I cannot quite believe what happened today.. somehow I ended up meeting Gandalf at Blenheim Palace!! Sir Ian Mckellen himself was opening the Flower Show this year, I brought along a portrait of Gandalf just incase I should happen to get such an opportunity... and by some incredibly lucky chance I got to speak to this wonderful man, show him my drawing, and got his autograph and Gandalf's symbol etched onto it! ... *dies of overwhelming joy*
