Honey,
If I could have found a record in time I would have left Styx Come Sail Away along with the thrift find. Another iconic song.
I’m telling you top 5 best sticky buns I’ve ever had. I am a connoisseur of treats too. I don’t just hand top ratings out like that for anyone.
I was planning on making an appearance at the ball yes. I am hoping you’re asking because you are planning to go?

Artless,
Ooooh, I will definitely have to give that a listen! The title is intriguing.
And thank you, you are too kind. I really do want to believe you and I suppose, since we're anonymous, you aren't saying it just to say it. So...thank you. I appreciate it. 🥰
And definitely!! I've got to meet everyone, I was nervous but I am looking forward to it now. I am planning on wearing yellow, so that'll make me easy to spot!💛
💛honey

Honey,
I honestly have no idea what I am doing to be wearing. I wish I could give you a hint.
I’ll tell you what though…I’ll send you an email when I find out so you know.

Fig,
I think it depends on the work load. It can be rather loud if we are busy. It’s also nice to just t have music on to make the work seem less like work.
So you mentioned being in a noisy place? Now you’ve got me thinking of where Fig could be walking around where is so loud…hmmmm
-Artless
@heartwarmingfig
Artless,
I can understand that, though I don’t think there’s anything that could make my work feel less like work. Not that I’m complaining, because I really enjoy my work. Do you enjoy what you do?
Not to lead you astray, but it isn’t always noisy. It’s actually sometimes very quiet, though I don’t know that quiet equals peaceful. I seek that out in other places, like the lake in the summer. Where do you go when you want some peace and quiet?
~ Fig
Fig,
I feel like it’s always something different. I like getting out on the open road. Enchantra has its moments and a few good spots I frequent. Then there’s always the gym. It’s not peaceful but you can get in your own zone and really decompress.
I do enjoy my job. If I didn’t I simply wouldn’t do it. I don’t believe in slaving away just to have an income. I’ve seen too many people chain themselves to a job just because.
I know though it’s not easy for everyone to do that.
What about you Fig?

Do you have a favorite Elton John song? Is it Crocodile Rock? Such a low rated song.
I have danced in the privacy of my own home a fair amount of times. Never catch me dancing at much at this town events. Maybe a prom a few years back? After a few pints. It’s not embarrassing — if anything Honey we can safely dance in privacy together. No judgment here!
I have had the sticky buns! Those were more incredible than anything I think I’ve had the pleasure of eating before. Add that recipe to your top 5 list - you could make them professionally I think. They are that good!
I have a small funny story. I wasn’t going to say anything but after those rolls I have to now. I wasn’t by FFTT few a few days back and I saw this keychain and I thought of you. Kept thinking about it then after getting your little gift I had to go back and get it.
Be sure to drop by town hall today.

I am so so glad that you liked them! I was so nervous, but I thought you might want them anyway. Even if they were terrible, the effort was there... I dunno about professional, but I am glad you think so!
Thank you sooooo much for the keychain!! It is so lovely, I love it so much. I put it on my keychain. It is very jingly, which I love. Thank you again. It was so thoughtful!
And yes, of course! Crocodile Rock is a great song. I think I do love Tiny Dancer a lot. Or maybe Rocket Man.

Restless doesn’t begin to describe it truthfully. I have grown more content as I join the community here in Swynlake. Less headlight on the highway.
That was an Elton John reference by the way.
Music is what I drift to when my mind starts to get restless. Not one to get lost in books. I feel like my brothers would joke I couldn’t read. I let genres of music soothe my restlessness. We are lucky Scat Cats is such a good shop. I think it would rival most in the big cities.
You most certainly miss something you don’t truly remember. I think there’s something about a gut feeling and intuition that has something to do with it. Nostalgia doesn’t always have to make sense. I don’t have children myself but there is something about wonder in a child’s eye…but it comes back as adults. I am starting to say way more intelligent than I am.
I have been to The Globe. A fews times now. It’s quite spectacular but you’ve got to look at the schedule because some of his plays are too much. I can only see Macbeth so many times.
Cinnamon Carmel sticky buns might be my favorite. There use to be these little petit four cakes I would sneaky as a lad. They were vanilla cakes with this hard frosting that cracked in the best way when you took a bite. Now don’t go making some of those they are probably difficult to make but they are probably my favorites.

Hi,
I love Elton John! Don't worry, I got that reference. Tiny Dancer is a great song. :)
I love music too. Probably more than reading, if I am honest. It just touches a different part of my heart. I wish I was better at dancing, but sometimes I'll dance in my room! Lol. That is kind of embarrassing to admit, actually.
I don't think you should sell yourself short! That was all very intelligent sounding. 💛😊

Bubbly,
I get that. I also think having a small home with a lot of pets isn’t fair to you or the pets. Everyone deserves their own amount of space.
I moved from a home because it had way too much room for just me. Suppose that house would’ve been perfect for a few pets.
I feel like if I got myself a dog I’d want to bring him with me everywhere. Only animal I can’t seem to get on board with his horses. Nothing against them they just scare me a bit. They are huge.
So you have family in the area or just you and the pets?
- Artless
@bubblymolecule
Artless,
That is absolutely valid. I don't have a lot of experience with horses, but I can see how they'd be off putting.
I have a cousin in the area, but that's about it! I moved here for work a few years ago, and my cousin being around definitely made things easier. I quite love Swynlake. It's so cozy.
Before that, I was in uni and then before that I moved all over with my parents, though I had a long stint in boarding school. What about yourself? Are you a native Swynlaker?
Best,

Swynlake really has grown on me. The community really comes together and you don’t see that often.
Having family close even if just a cousin is nice. I’ve got a nephew of sorts who comes and goes but it always seems to be when he can’t get some cash from his old man.
I’m a London transplant. Been here a few years got myself a decent job and the hoity toity keep us in business. Grew up all over London - miss it sometimes but mostly the Indian food.

Artless,
That makes sense. Sometimes silence can be too silent, can’t it? I grew up in a busy household, and now I work in quite a noisy environment too, so I think it makes me appreciate a bit of quiet once in a while.
I take it you work somewhere quite noisy too? Or are the ‘other noises’ more metaphorical than literal? I know sometimes, if it’s too quiet, I can feel my thoughts running away from me. Maybe then I’d benefit from a bit of music.

I am not certain why I chose this name. Art is subjective and in many ways I suppose I am not artless. Tactless would have made more sense but doesn’t have the same ring to it. Then highway well wheels to pavement is one of the best outlets I’ve found. When I find myself restless I know a highway will take me somewhere new.
Well I’m not going to hold that against you honey! What we remember as children is always a mix if fantasy and reality anyways. Maybe it’s that little honey that remembers the ocean and it’s that inner child that craves it now. I have a childhood memory of the Globe Theater. I am not one for Shakespeare myself but whatever I snuck into was so magical I now have this memory and pull towards the romantics of things.
I think you’ll find your ocean soon.
Now baking is the way to my heart. I’ve got a few neighbors who always bring me extra treats if you will. I once ate a whole tray of sticky buns to myself. Just left the fork in the tray and would graze anytime I walked around the flat.
-Artless
@honeyamok
Artless,
Are you often restless? I find myself a little restless sometimes too. Though, I usually read when I feel that way and imagine myself somewhere else. It must be nice to just get up and go whenever you want. What lovely freedom.
That is a beautiful way to put it. I think my inner child does crave the ocean. Maybe it would me remind me of home. Is it possible to miss something you cannot entirely remember? Musings for another time, maybe. It is a little deep.
You've been to the Globe? That sounds like so much fun. I am also not a huge Shakespeare person but he was so talented, his words can still affect me.
That sounds so delicious. Well, I can definitely bake you something! What is your favorite?

Hippy before the hippy. You know that makes more sense doesn’t it.
I also enjoy things of that era - matter of fact I think people have asked me why I don’t dress more modern. I simply say if it’s not broken don’t fix it. Plus firm believer in doing whatever it is I want. Don’t you agree?
Oh I’m not afraid on high maintenance. I might be my own worst enemy because I feel like I prefer it. I just don’t want some blind date to lead me to the Opera. I was under dressed, caught of guard, and then we had to sit in silence.
No icks here bubbly. I could be an ick for you too - don’t count me out.
So what are you into. Suppose we can’t give too much away…I’m finding it quite comical catching myself thinking of how to say things in a sneaky way.

Hi Artless,
Haha, that is a very interesting way to put it. Sometimes interests can be so obvious!
I like to read. I'm interested in fashion. I like to sew and bake and cook. I also enjoy animals and have a dear pet of my own.
What about yourself? I must ask, are you an animal lover? Throughout these exchanges, I've grown to realize that is a trait I place high up on my list of attractive qualities.
Best,
bubbly
@artlesshighway
Bubbly,
I am an animal lover. I just do not have any pets myself. I moved around a bit before I settled in town and I just never thought my lifestyle was right for a pet. I have thought about adopting one though - a dog at least.
Not big on cats but maybe I just haven’t met the right one.
I can only guess that you are big on pets? Are you a one pet kind of person or do you want to build a little farm with the whole lot?
-Artless
@bubblymolecule
Artless,
I have one pet who I adore dearly! I'd consider more in the future, but since I live in a one-bedroom apartment, I'd want to move somewhere with more space first. I also don't think I'd have more than two or three -- just enough so that they can keep each other company while I'm gone!

Honey,
Well making you giggle is what this is all about! I feel accomplished in some way!
I’ve seen all sorts of tomfoolery on the Atlantis lake. If you needed a small sail boat with all the ropes and sails I think we could get that rigged up for you. Bring the ocean to you.
I don’t take any offense to your traveling comments. I had an interesting upbringing so it was never right to travel much out of London. Now I think sure a trip to Italy or somewhere might sounds lovely but I also feel like I am good just staying round here. I love just traveling within the country - everything is just one highway away.
I do think I’d enjoy some beach town on the Mediterranean. Maybe for the food? Or just because I am curious.
My weakness is cookies and cakes. Or those candy shops where you can dish yourself out just about anything you’d like. I’d rot my teeth out with candy if I didn’t practice self control.
Sweet like honey.
- Artless
@honeyamok
Artless,
"Everything is just one highway away" -- your name is starting to make more sense. Did you choose that on purpose? I realized that I didn't really ask. For the record, mine was chosen on a whim, though I admit, I do like honey.
I haven't been to the Mediterranean either! I am sure it is wonderful. My family prefers to go to places with lots of people and things to do like Paris or Berlin, so there aren't really oceans. I suppose I was a little misleading in saying I've never been to the ocean, because I did, but I was so small that I don't remember it at all.
There is something nice about the idea of bringing the ocean to Swynlake. The lake usually serves its purpose well enough. It is quite big. It takes a while to swim from end to end. Though, of course, there is an end to it. Unlike with the ocean...
Sorry, that was rambling.
I think you'll be happy to know that I enjoy baking, so I can provide plenty of cakes and cookies. 🎂

Dear Artlesshighway,
Hello! it's wonderful to meet you!
Since I am a little delayed in getting this email to you (I apologize, I'm still getting used to this whole thing) I'm going to just jump in with two of the prompts to try to make up for some lost time!
If someone were to describe you as an animal, what would it be?
Would you rather sleep in an aquarium or under the stars?
All the best,
ThreadbareVHS
@artlesshighway
ps your avatar is very cool looking!
VHS,
First what and interesting name. Not many VHS around these days. I’ve got an old copy of some American western in my trunk that’s a VHS.
Describe me as an animal…well the irony there is laughable. I think some sort of dog. Mastiff of some sort. What about you?
Sleep under the stars. I feel like I do that often as is. If you get out in the country the stars are almost too bright. That’s enough to choose that over and over again.
You here for dating or just connections? Neither answer is right or wring around here. Just curious - I’m teetering between the two myself.

My jobs allows me to work with music on. So my fellow employees and myself each get a day to use the speaker.
I’m sure the other tenants at my building are sick of my music coming from inside my flat.

I think that’s specific enough - so you’re sort of an old soul, then? Or just enjoy the classics?
I’m maybe the opposite of you, though. I like trashy pop. I try to keep up with new music but I don’t like all of it - I prefer something with a good beat, and I’ve never said no to a good 00s or 10s classic. I get to listen to music when I work too, sometimes. I’m sure the people there are sick of hearing my music, too.
Do you always have the music going? I don’t listen to much at home to be honest, unless I’m working, but sometimes I like having the time to think.

Artless,
I think I might be a bit, yes. But I suppose being aware of it is helpful? Not to big myself up too much, but I tend to be pretty good at things, which means I generally don't like to lose. I have been known to throw a tantrum or two.
You'd be surprised. I never saw myself getting into stuff like that either, but it can be quite addictive. And anyway, I'm less into tennis, more into squash. Much more fast-paced and a little dangerous even, if you're playing it right.
Pretty busy, yeah, between work and family life. Hence why I'm here, I guess. Blind emails over the phone is a little easier to fit into my schedule. Plus, it's a little bit more fun than a tinder date - I'm enjoying the mystery of it all.

A tantrum?! Well I won’t judge because I have a short fuse myself but never over a game. Well I did get a bit heated over a game of monopoly but I was bankrupt in a record amount of time and that shit just does not fly with me.

I’ll have to agree. My life is rather busy. Only problem with the emails is you’ve got me glued to my phone Fig. Usually it’s in my jeans pocket or playing music. I keep catching myself checking to see if you’ve replied.

Artless,
I can’t judge you for that - I think monopoly has that effect on everyone. Or it has that effect on me too, anyway.
It’s like tennis but you’re both hitting a very hard ball very fast at a wall. It’s a great sport if you don’t mind getting a few bruises, or if you think you’re fast enough to hit the ball instead of getting hit by it. I think you guess which type of person I am?
I’d say I’m sorry for gluing you to your phone, but I’m not really. It’s nice to have something to look forward to I think. But now I have to ask, what kind of music is your phone normally playing?
