I frequently draw body horror, and occasionally gore. This is your final warning. Asks should be sent to my main blog (godslush) rather than this one. But I keep anons off. In order to keep things neat and trim, I shall be keeping my art stuff here instead of merely tagging it over at my main godslush account, which will be for personal stuff and silly reblogs and whatnot. Miscellaneous art will still be posted over there, but this is for people who are interested in ONLY that and not all the other random garbage, for purposes of dashboard cleanliness.

Re-opened to the public.

This blog has a lot of stuff from my passlocked headworld blog, which was why I closed it; don’t make me regret opening it up again because I don’t feel like hunting down and deleting everything.

If I see any theft-coded tags or responses on personal/headworld pieces (things like “#story idea” “#campaign idea” “#kin” “#me” “#stealing this” (yes, I have gotten that), people tagging my characters with their character names, etc.), or reblogs of headworld stuff to ‘inspo’ or ‘resource’ collections that lead to my headworld work being treated and distributed like public domain again, I’m locking it up permanently.

I will block collection blogs on sight if I see them reblogging headworld pieces.

Also, don’t delete my text off my posts. If you do, you are certified garbage.

After this much time not drawing him, plus seeing other people do a better job keeping him closer to game-style (which I can’t ever do justice to, it always feels so weird and unnatural when I try), plus attending lots of streams of people just playing the game, my confidence in how I draw him is at an all-time low...

I’m always glad to hear that other people do like my version of him! ...Even if I’m having a Moment of not liking it, myself, right now.

A commission I finished for @lukaneff, of her ferris wheel Cursed OC, Clair!

I was tasked to design this character from nearly the ground-up - with some guidelines - and I had a lot of fun coming up with this!

They look down at the canine part of its body, making some gestures, but the dog appears to ignore it. The eyestalks droop, as if sighing. The giant mutant dog stares at you. It seems... anxious? - Change the subject > “...Spit it out.” The creature perks up at that for a moment before shrinking back, eyes darting side to side. It’s hard to tell if it thinks this is a game, or it is genuinely a little ashamed. - Change the subject > “Drop it.” It pauses for a moment before retching. A saliva-covered glob of miscellaneous, partially digested items glorps onto the concrete. A thin metal jar lid with holes poked in it seems a bit out of place. You discard it. More pertinently, there is a purple collar with turquoise embroidery, and several metal tags including various phone numbers and vaccination notes. One in particular has a name; Darrin. There is also a leather wallet, mostly destroyed. You manage to salvage $26, some coins, a ruined photograph of a young boy, and a bunch of plastic cards that have melted together. You can barely make out the name Conrad on one of them.

This took SO much effort, but it is finally done to the best of my current ability for the time being. There's stuff I might fix later, but I put it off for too long as-is. There was just so much going on with this design that I kept losing focus the longer I worked on it.

I see Tracks as being less of an in-game Cursed, but rather a Post-Ending one; someone who shows up in No Going Back or similar 'continuation' endings, and acts as a fast-travel NPC who helps get around the city.

Wanted to see if I could draw one of my favorite hand losers (affectionate) without a sketch. It's messy and I did it in dim lighting so my color choices aren't great, but it only took about an hour so I don't mind it.

While walking home today, I randomly had the idea to revise a really old character, but I gaslit myself into what she looked like. I dug up like three really old pics and misremembered all of them, haha.

None of them were colored, but I know what she was meant to reference, so I threw some on. Weird bug crystal dragon thing. Super super quick marker sketch with some sparkly gel ink thrown on for funsies.

Just something to pad out my very embarrassingly slow month for art (I've been working on other stuff).

Working on overworld-sized animation during the stream using the palette that Frankie said was going to be the main one for the jam, and I don't know what I'm doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He makes it look so easy!!!!

Anyway, I don't know who this is, I legit just started blobbing in colors and pushed the pixels around until a person happened and worked from there.

If anything, this was my mistake. It took so long to finish because I wanted to use the larger surface area to try and get more out of Psalm's dark-iridescent/oil sheen.

And the obligatory 'solid light background for silhouette' inclusion, plus all of them together for contrast.

I tried to fix my Namiki again, and did what I know I wasn't supposed to do with a 14k nib and used pliers (with padding, at least!!!), and nearly ruined it permanently. However, it was either nigh-unusable and would need replacement if I did nothing, or I'd try and fix it and have a 50/50 chance to either fix it or still need to replace it.

I was able to semi-salvage it, it's just scratchy now. This was my test page as I worked on it.

Wanted to try something different while inking and immediately regretted coloring this. While the lines didn't bleed, they also got completely eaten by the darker colors rather than there being a multiplicative effect.

Oh well, live and fail and learn.

I decided that if I want to get a fancy fountain pen that needs to be manually refilled, I should first start with a cheaper/simpler one, so I went to my old stationery store haunt and picked up a Pilot Metropolitan and some Monteverde Moonstone ink and decided to blob around a bit.

There's a bunch of Obvious Mistakes, but, w/e, that's the price I pay for not sketching first.

Psalm continues to be the absolute worst character design of all time when it comes to spriting (as well as in general).
