Fortnight 2 - Zable
Theme: Lights
I've been playing around in photoshop a LOT recently, so i decided to do something for this theme with it. Basically, this image is a basic compilation of both form and tone. Hopefully, this brings the emphasis on the light, and how it falls upon the shapes. As well as the "light", i decided to put a song title in, to add a little something to an otherwise bland piece.
Mediums used: Adobe Photoshop 5.1, Wacom Stylus, iPhone camera (source image).
Fortnight Two Theme: 'Lights.'
for those of you unfamiliar with the rules, check our rules page.
PS: we will try to be less vague for further themes.
PPS: some suggestions would be nice.
Fortnight 1 - Inam0rta
Theme: Shutter
In photography, the shutter button is the one you press to capture an image, and the shutter speed is the amount of time that light is allowed to enter the camera to produce an image. Taking this theme literally, I have drawn a camera. It's actually quite ironic, if you ask me.
Mediums used: 0.4 and 0.2mm fineliner and Photoshop CS5.
Fortnight 1 - Zable
Theme: Shutter
Photography is a medium that embraces the immediacy of art. I took this theme literally, exploring the idea that with just one click of a button, one movement of a shutter, a moment can be captured with all its beauty and all of its flaws. The glare of the sun, the reflection on the lense... Its all accidental, and yet it is all art.
Mediums/tools used: iPhone 4, Instagram
Fortnight One Theme: 'Shutter.'

Welcome to Art Club.
“An entire generation of pumping gas and waiting tables.
Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate for shit we dont need.
We are the middle children of history, men. No purpose or place. We got no great war, no great depression.
Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives.
We were all raised on television being led to believe one day we will all be millionares and movie gods and rock stars. But we wont.
And we’re slowly learning that fact, And we are very, very pissed off.”
- Fight Club
Welcome to art club. Here, every fortnight we will break our creative bones, snap our psyche, and brain our brilliance for your viewing pleasure.
Every fortnight, we will chose (or be given, if you are willing to do so) a theme. And with this theme, we will create an art piece that relates to it somehow, and by god we will do it to the best of our abilities.
On the left in the blue trunks, he is the passive pulveriser, the cynical killer, he has a taste for the crazy, and just a little bit lazy… its ZABLE
On the right in the red trunks: the princess of portraiture, her graphite art is precise, her methods less than concise. The neat freak with a memory of a goldfish, give it up for INAM0RTA
Let’s begin…
