FAQ
Q: What is this?
A: I wanted to have some fun trying new styles and its always more fun and less scary trying new things with friends. I also want to fight against the rising tide of AI and meet some new art mutuals so here we go! You aren't obligated to, but anyone joining in should be encouraged to hype each other up and like and share and comment. Everything tagged will also be shared here to keep track of.
Q: Who can join?
A: Literally anyone! Any skill level. Any fandom. No restrictions. Except obviously no AI. If you've never considered drawing before or always wanted to try I want this to be a space to share any and all efforts. You don't even need to be an artist if you just want to follow along and reblog art for funsies.
Q: Is it Fandom specific?
A: Definitely no! Draw your main fandom. Draw for a fandom you've always been interested in. Draw for one you've liked from afar. Anything goes!
Q: Do I need to follow this blog?
A: Nope! Follow if you want a steady stream of art or just for fun, but otherwise you can follow the tag #artworkout2026. This is more for me just to keep track of everything.
Q: What is the schedule?
A: I'm going to post a full prompt list soon, but there will basically be a prompt a month. The general goal is up to you and your personal time and level of involvement. If you want to do one a month, cool! Skip a month or want to redo a previous month you liked? Cool! I'm personally going to aim for one a week. (I literally cannot emphasize how low pressure this is)
Q: Will you crap out on this like everything else you attempt in your life?
A: :^) Maybe? Only time will tell! But wont it be fun to follow along until I do?
Q: Is Not Safe For Work stuff allowed?
A: Yes! I mean...as much as it is ever allowed on Tumbler of course! I would just tag appropriately.
Q: What should I draw?
A: Anything your heart desires. Try new things. Redraw your favs. Do sketches. Do full pictures. Even pair it with a different themed art challenge. Anything is good!
We have some Arranged Marriage Regency AU with @woundedsoul12 for our blorbos, so I thought that I'll go with regency fashion.
I tried to do a painting at first, but it defeated me. Then I saw some prints from the early 19th century fashion magazines and thought that might be an idea: the portrait of the newlyweds as an announcement in a broadsheet.
Week 1: AU of your choosing! Think modern, cowboy, Scifi, Fantasy something opposite to what your OC is usually in
I didn't participate in June art workout, but I'm back this month! And it's Lydia as a siren from Borderlands series. I replaced her scars with the siren markings.
Monthly Challenge: Since I tortured everyone last month by not drawing any OC's at all this month is all OCs all the time!! Lets see them all! And bonus points (*reminder there are no points) if you want to draw others OCs as an fun challenge too. So, lets see all those lovely OCs in all the situations. Any and everything you can come up with and the usual prompts below if you choose (these can also be used if you choose to draw someone elses OC) <3
Week 1: AU of your choosing! Think modern, cowboy, Scifi, Fantasy something opposite to what your OC is usually in
Week 2: Historical Fashion
Week 3: Game Swap - Swap fashions with another video game
Week 4: Free space! Either use a previous prompt you liked or just have fun drawing your OC but they are awesome!
So I have no spoons/time/head space left and definitely cannot get my shit together in time to do actual artfight BUT next months Artworkout (after torturing everyone with no blorbos allowed) is going to be ALL OC themed! With some room for drawing others OCs too! Plus the spirit of the artworkout was an art thing for people who get stressed about regular art challenges so prep your OC's and find some friends OC's (or random mutuals OC's) you might want to draw! <3
A place from my brain, which will show up eventually in my Fenhawke series, but not in the way you think. good luck figuring that one out, for @artworkout2026
