this is going to be a generalized take, so please forgive me, but women are an underrated enforcer of femininity.

I’ve noticed this with hairdressers. multiple times I’ve gone to lady hairdressers and said “cut it all off,” and they’ve gone “hmm alright,” and basically just trimmed the split ends. meanwhile I can go to a dude and say “hey, can you make my hair slightly shorter?” and he’ll go “on it boss,” and shave me bald.

twice now, I’ve also had lady tattoo artists add pink to femme up a tattoo, despite that not being on the initial design.

god, also thinking about this brought back a memory. my mom once threw a fit because my shoes were “too masculine” (they were black women’s flats), saying that I’d upset my dad and ruin the formal event we were going to. I wore the shoes, my dad didn’t give a shit.

I dunno. it just feels like the misogyny is coming from inside the house sometimes.

it's good enrichment for The Character(s) when one of their friends gets possessed and they have to find some way to bring them back. great friendgroup bonding activity. especially if they have to do some exorcism bullshit and it's traumatizing for everyone involved and there's collapsing and sobbing afterward. great thing for The Character(s) to do. highly recommend.

It can be all of these things at once, but each one can overtake the others at times. If you find yourself struggling with creating, it might be because these motivations are out of balance.

If you’re being held back because you’re too focused on what other people want from you, performance is the problem. If you feel choked by whether or not your work will be well-received (especially by specific people), connection is the problem. If you can’t figure out a piece because you don’t know what you want it to say, expression is the problem.

These don’t happen in equal measures, and I don’t think you can totally divorce yourself from any of them (short of potentially performance, if you choose not to share whatever you make). But it’s ok to take a step back and readjust if you find that one is taking over the others.

20. part of canon you found tedious or boring

My non-spicy opinion is the war table in DAI. There's a lot of interesting stuff buried in there but it's such a slog.

My slightly spicier opinion honestly is MOST of DAO hahaha like the story in DAO is great and I like the conversations with the companions about their backstories and things but oh my god playing it is a nightmare and I just cannot anymore. The werewolf quest? ugh. Orzammar? TERRIBLE. The mages tower? Not fun in the least. I cannot explain to you why I like this game because I have SO much beef with it.

Also? The Exalted Plains just as a whole. The stupid ramparts and the buzzing flies and the bridge you have to fix and it all just means nothing I hate it it's SO boring

25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing

Other than the general poorly founded arguments for why Veilguard burned down everyone's crops and shot their dog? I'm honestly mostly sick of the Crow Discourse more than anything else LOL I feel like it's fairly cyclical at this point and doesn't really lend anything interesting to observations of the world as a whole? And it might just be the fandom circles I'm in but I feel like the Crows overall get a lot of weight in a way that is...unearned perhaps? And I don't dislike them don't get me wrong but especially with VG we were introduced to so many parts of Thedas so why are we SO stuck on just Antiva?
