“It's #AsexualAwarenessWeek so we have changed our Planet Ally logo and sending all our love and allyship to our #asexual community! AVEN- Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) defines Asexuality as: "Someone who does not experience sexual attraction or an intrinsic desire to have sexual relationships (or the adjective describing a person as such)." We were thrilled to have asexual advocate @edna_chiu sharing her lived experience and allyship tips at our recent Pink Season 粉紅天 How To Be An Ally 2.0 event. #ACEWeek #HongKong #HK #PlanetofAllies #LGBT #LGBTI #LGBTIQ #LGBTIQA #lesbian #gay #bisexual #transgender #pansexual #genderqueer #intersex #sexualracism #racialallyship #SOGI #SOGIE #SOGIESC #asexualflag #prideflag #def“

Discrimination of any kind is not cool. So the same goes for acephobia. For some, the A in LGBTQIA doesn't stand for asexual, but for many it does. Respect is 10000% the key in these situations.
Every time National Coming Out Day or Pride Month comes around, an ugly form of discourse rears its unwelcome head.
Asexual Awareness Week is here!! Time to celebrate each and every one of you wonderful aces <3 Thank you for being you! Enjoy!!
Happy Asexual Awareness Week from the Queer Avengers!

Asexuality and the ace spectrum
Educators are an extremely important element in creating safe environments for Ace and other LGBT+ youth. GLSEN has created an excellent primer for how to be more supportive of Asexual students
Celebrating asexual visibility is an important supportive act and may help asexual people discover, or come out about, their identities.

Several years ago, The Trevor Project reached out to the Asexual community in an effort to create resources and support tailored specifically for Asexuals. This work has without any doubt saved lives.
If you are considering suicide: Help is available 24/7 by calling 1-866-488-7386. Texting and online chat are also available.

Saying it’s okay to not feel sexual attraction is not the same as saying that feeling sexual attraction is dirty and wrong.
Identifying as asexual isn’t the same as calling other people dirty for feeling sexual attraction.
Identifying as asexual doesn’t mean that you’re sexualising other people.
Asexuality is not a judgement on other people.
You’re not bad for identifying as ace.
I’m asexual
And I can be affectionate
I can have sex
…if I want to
…or I could not
Whatever I do that’s my business

This should be REALLY interesting yet informative.
