So I have seen you many times mention that ace discourse is awful. As an Ace person that doesn't actually spend much time in Ace circles on any of the hellsites except just small friend groups, I have thankfully not been exposed to any of the discourse, but I can't help but be curious - how bad are we talking?

Ace discourse for years on this site created an endless argument about whether or not ace people were *really* LGBT and the aphobic people were so determined to make this happen that they created a whole bunch of fake asexual blogs that would post cringe content so everyone could go "wow I can't believe aces are so embarrassing and lame" and they actually managed to succeed in turning a lot of people towards their side and making the site really inhospitable for ace people. And like all internet discourse it removed all nuance from the situation so like even if you thought aces were LGBT but had some reasonable issues with the behavior of the ace community online, that would just get lumped in with aphobia because you're either with us or against us and what not. It got to the point where any time I get an ask where someone wants to know my opinion on ace people I don't even answer it because I KNOW they're just trying to bait discourse out of my blog like drawing blood from a stone because they're so desperate to start shit at every turn.

And yes I do think aces are LGBT but I also think being "really LGBT" is kind of arbitrary and meaningless because there is no material benefit to being "part of the LGBT community" like any time people imply that ace people are taking away "resources" from "actual LGBT people" it's like ok bitch what resources??? Are the asexuals taking all ur fucking vespene gas????????

top surgery recovery has given me a lot of time to think, which is both epic and not. Been thinking a lot about past selves, past experiences, and how they all led up to me being the person I am today. I dont like the “I was born in the wrong body” rhetoric because I think it removes the agency for trans people to self-determination of our identities, nor do I like trans identities to be reduced to our bodies. I was that little girl, and I am not ashamed of her, nor was she ever my enemy. We do not have to reject our past selves to validated in our current selves, and I will continue to cherish the little girl in my head because she helped me become the person I am now <3
