A lot of people were pissed because Asexuals got some rep, Which is stupid if you ask me, but a meet up, doesn’t mean that we left the lgbt behind and made our own community. Like, Asexual exclusionist’s want.

What is anti-asexual hate crime?

Any offence should be treated as an anti-asexual hate crime if the person who experienced it or anyone else feels it was an expression of acephobia. Anti-asexual hate crime can include verbal abuse and violence from neighbours or strangers. Because people’s asexual identity is not always visible to strangers, anti-asexual abuse can often be concentrated in settings where the targeted person and perpetrator know each other. That can include verbal abuse or unwanted sexual touching from acquaintances and anti-asexual domestic abuse from family or partners. This also includes actual and threats of so-called “corrective” rape, to “fix” the person’s orientation.

These crimes are less easy to recognise but it is equally important to record and address them in a manner that addresses their motivation of hostility. To qualify to be recorded as a hate incident, a report needn’t include anti-asexual language. It is enough for a reporting person to perceive that it was motivated by acephobia.

It’s a type of hate crime. And given why it’s done I believe that there’s possibly other members of the LGBT who have experienced this.

Asexuals, are ones who sadly experienced this as well.

I mean, it’s a lot less offensive than what most asexuals on Tumblr actually want. It’s a separate meeting for asexuals, and he doesn’t claim that this makes him gay/queer, nor does he barge into an LGBT group. If all aces were like this, maybe we’d take you a lot more seriously.

Well, it’s not just Tumblr who thinks like that love so you should check out other platforms. Before generalizing that its just Tumblr.

Also, a lot of people were pissed at the fact that they mentioned us and I think Aro individuals alone. And are pissy because we got rep which us actually stupid if you think about it.

First, don’t call me endearments. We’re not friends, let alone any sort of relation that entitles you to call me “love”. Good? Good.

I say Tumblr because it’s where a lot of the worst discourse came in. “Allosexual”, “allos are responsible for the Pulse shooting because they have gay bars”, “allos are at least KNOWN, unlike us aces!”, “cishet aces are LGBT based on their asexuality alone”, and I could really go on.

I was actually praising this plotline for not using asexuality as a vehicle for homophobia, like a lot of aces are known to do (you know, like in the examples I listed). It treats asexuality as its own thing, separate from LGBT individuals, and does so in a way that respects it as something that is okay to be.

Again, if most asexuals were like the portrayal given here, I’d respect them a lot more. Hell, I’d recommend aces take a page from this plotline and make their own meetups without claiming to be gay/queer if they aren’t.

Mayor organization like GLADD and GLMA support and said that they are a part of of the community. (And that’s juts two in the USA alone)

And their reasons are normally disregarded because of people thinking “oh they are asexual that doesn’t happen to them” or “oh they just have some sort of mental disorder they should be good with therapy”

What Bojack did was actually brought awareness about us most likely for the same reasons

And kinda took the piss out of people who think asexuals have a disorder.

And also a lot of the asexual community is like this and then there are others who aren't. The rep wasn't 100% accurate for that reason.

Have to like it when major organizations such as this one actually recognizes asexuality as a member of the LGBT but also promotes it’s awareness week.
