Kayla waved at the audience as she skipped across the stage. Giving Ambrosia a firm handshake. The audience awed and Kayla gave them the most radiant smile she could. Her sparkling green dress was just above her knee and really highlighted the parts of Kayla's body that she seemed to be lacking in. "Please state your name for the audience, darling!" Ambrosia cooed. "My name is Lala Switch and I'm from District 7." The audience fawned over her which caused Kayla to let out a bright giggle that sent the audience into fits.
"So, little darling," Ambrosia began, leaning foreword to rest her chin on the palm of her hand. "So, Miss Storm." Kayla imitated the woman in front of her while batting her lashes. The audience giggled and watched intently. "Well, aren't you just a cutie?" The young dreamer gave a shrug and chewed on her inner cheek. Her mentor had spoken with her and told her to be as cute as possible.
"Tell us, do you have any strategies planned for the arena? I know your father was a victor!" Kayla nodded and leaned back in her seat. "Well, I'm definitely not as skilled as my dad, miss you papa! But um... I can aim pretty well and blow pretty hard so I guess I'll have to kill if I need to but I'll try to find high ground first, the safest place I can, preferably--- I don't want to give everything away!" She giggled and scratched her forehead.
Ambrosia nodded, looking at Kayla with inspiration almost. "That sounds good, Lala. Tell me, are you close with any of the other tributes here? Maybe have a crush on someone?" Kayla looked at the audience, gave them a face, and shook her head no. "I don't like anyone but there is someone I'm close to. Jesse, my district partner. He tells me to call him Batman and he's always telling me stories and he talks to me like I'm not little. He treats me like a person and I know that in the arena..." Kayla stopped and took a hesitant deep breath. "I know that I can depend on him for anything. He'll help me through and hopefully I can help him out too."
The audience took a moment of silence before cheering for the young child. All she had to do was be honest and step a little bit outside of her comfort zone to get people to like her. "One more thing before you go, Miss Covens," Ambrosia cleared her throat, looking down patronizingly at the girl. "Yes, Miss Storm?" "Kayla, are you afraid of the games? It's okay..." Noticing the girls reluctance to speak, Ambrosia looked at the audience, sticking a hand out to get there attention, as if they weren't already captivated by the 'bubbly' personality of the young girl. "You can trust us, right guys?" The audience politely cheered.
Kayla took a deep breath, her palms sweaty and her eye contact lowered. For the first time in this interview, Lala's real personality came through. "Um... Y-yes. I am afraid. Other tributes are going to pick on me first and... I don't know if I'm ready to die yet." The young girl started tearing up but she quickly wiped the tears from her eyes quickly and took a deep breath. "Sorry. I really brought the mood down, huh?" The audience that was previously in tears with the girl suddenly sprang up from their seats and there was not a single person in the room that wasn't laughing, crying, or standing up. "Kayla Switch everyone!" Lala gave them one last brilliant smile before waving and exiting off the stage where she burst into tears and practically fell into the arms of another tribute. "It's okay," They cooed. "It's okay."
