Located on a small island off the coast Argentina, Ash Asylum was originally known as a hospital that housed many sickly people suffering from an epidemic during the the year 1901. The original, owner, Dr. Joel McCullen was well known for being a little..strange. Everything that went on in the hospital was kept as nothing more then hushed rumors here and there in other cities. Those living in the area surrounding the hospital spoke of experiments and inhumane treatments, claiming they heard tortured screams coming from the hospital. At the end of the epidemic the hospital was shut down, a cure running most of the nurses and doctors out of work there. Through the years the hospital remained abandon, left alone by most who live on the island because of the fear of it being haunted by those who had suffered there. In 1973 it was opened up as a hospice before closing soon after in 1979 due to to many patient disappearances and other unusual reports.

After the rise of the supernatural community in 2001 starting with the vampires who claimed they had found a new source of food, synthetic blood, to survive off of. This helped the humans to come to accept them into their communities, and soon after more and more supernaturals began to reveal themselves to society. In 2014 a vampire doctor who went by the name Nikolas Fahlstorm decided to go to this island that he had heard so much about, deciding after hearing all the rumors of it being haunted to buy it. Here on this now abandon island Dr. Nikolas has resurrected and reopened the hospital as an asylum.
