"why does Lirin have to be so mean to Kaladin why can't he just support him being a soldier"
y'all KALADIN doesn't even support Kaladin being a soldier
I have only read 11 of them so far, but Brandon Sanderson has such Cosmere characters as:
- Plucky orphan that eats metal
- Plucky orphan who is exceptionally slippery
- Man who misses his wife.
- Man who misses his wife.
- Man who doesn't miss his wife because of a magical curse
- Man who feels guilty for being alive
- Man who feels guilty for being alive
- Man who feels guilty for being alive
- Shapeshifting gust of wind
- Shapeshifting dog
- Shapeshifting gardener
- Shapeshifting buzzing fractal
- Shapeshifting femdom
- Godlike self-insert who wanders the universe trying to find the plot of whatever book he's in
@the-silk-rose THIS IS CRUEL
every normal fantasy author goes to Q&As and they get questions like "hii i love your writing! where do you get inspiration for all your amazing worlds and characters?" and then the author will respond like "I go on frequent woods walks and I like to watch history documentaries :) it gets me really inspired" and then brandon sanderson will go to Q&As and get a question like "if you had a nicrosil compounder, could they burn the stored investiture and then store it again to generate infinite investiture? and if so, could you use that to generate infinite stormlight, provided the nicrosil compounder was also a knight radiant? and using the infinite stormlight, could you establish a perpendicularity using bondsmith powers, travel through the cognitive realm at high speed with the infinite stormlight, go to sel, and use nightblood to eat the entire Dor, permanently disabling the magic of Elantris?" and then brandon responds with "RAFO. You'll find out in Stormlight 5"
My dumbass brain visualizing The Stormfather whenever he talks to Dalinar in Oathbringer
Dare I say, Wayne Terrisborn
If I had a nickel for every time I read a Brandon Sanderson series where the main character is a girl who discovers and hones her superpowers, transcending things even superpowered humans should have any ability to do, and has romantic development with a rich boy who ends up having the same type of powers, but he's significantly less skilled than she is, but he becomes the leader of their society during an emergency, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Y’know, Moash might have a point. I mean, it worked out for Adolin
Due to popular demand ( @zarohk, @dawn-the-rithmatist ) : kelsier
It is actually funny how with both kaladin and dalinar their brothers deaths are such major parts of their respective arcs that they would likely be different people if not for it. Meanwhile shallan just kinda goes “huh my brother is dead? Whoops turns out it was my close friend Kaladin that killed him” and then moves on like nothing
Dalinar writing Oathbringer
Jasnah: Uncle, a good scholar always cites their sources, for the benefit of the reader and other scholars.
Dalinar:
Dalinar:
A lot of people joke about how strange it is that two separate magic systems of the Cosmere has currency as an integral part to them, but I am not surprised.
After all, magic in the Cosmere is all about Investment!
Concept: Feruchemist with a prosthetic limb that also serves as a metalmind.

blood is basically the most normal thing for a sword to hunger for. if a sword gained sentience and started asking me for blood i'd be like yeah i thought you might say that
Fuck it, Adolin Kholin in a dress
I knew he would slay
