I want to thank everyone that reached out to me with a happy birthday wish recently. Although I appreciate everyone’s kind words, I value your character and the memories we share more. For me, New Years doesn’t fall on January 1st every year: It’s June 29th in my book. So I have a few resolutions that I made & want to share with all of you. There are 4 things I’d like to do differently this year: Produce, Socialize, Discipline & Grow Production - Most people recognize me as a photographer, however I prefer to think of myself as a digital media producer. That’s because when I’m not in the studio or in the field practicing photography I’m designing websites & visual media, shooting film for personal projects + creating new marketing & advertising material. Its imperative that I focus a great amount of time on refining this craft over the next year. Socialization - In a nutshell, all this production I plan on doing isn’t doing me any good if no-one’s seeing it. That’s why I’m coming back with a lot of fresh ideas & engaging visual media to rekindle the flame + What better way to bring both my personal & brand identity to life? Discipline - Jim Rohn said it the best: “Things that are easy to do are easy not to do.” For that reason alone, it’s important that I learn the disciplines of doing the easy things that I not only love to do but could potentially lead to life changing results down the line. I’m also disciplining myself to learn 3 new skills in the next year as well: Learning the Swift 3 language to develop iOS apps, starting an online made to order wall-art gallery & refining my craft in film production. Growth - The first three resolutions create the perfect formula for growth. I would be a fool if I neglected to focus on the things that really mattered and failed to deliver this to the people that have grown with me over the years. I encourage whoever took the time to read this to share it & apply this idea to your life as well, whether your birthday is coming up soon or not. The reward for doing what you love will forever outweigh the consequences of the risks you’ll take to get them+ We’re not getting any younger so why waste more time? 💡 http://ift.tt/298MaJ8
