on the other hand absolutely baffling amounts of leftists on here act like religion is something that just happens to you and has nothing to do with your politics or how you move socially within the wider contexts. you can test out this dichotomy by asking someone whether they would respect someone’s efforts to keep their kitchen kosher or not have pork or indeed any animal products in their home for religious reasons despite it inconveniencing you versus if they would respect this situation if the person asking to have no animal products in their home was ideologically vegan

As a vegan Jew who grew up in a kosher household (not Orthodox or Chasidic, but my parents have separate dishes and silverware for meat and dairy, you have to put them on certain side of the sink or kitchen, etc)
