I'd like to repeat the advice that I gave you before, in that I think you should make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you previously never have thought of doing, or been to hesitant to attempt. So many people live with unhappy circumstances and yet will not take initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security,conformity and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of Mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endless changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different Sun.

Dear Friend

I don't know if I will have the time to write any more letters because I might be too busy trying to participate. So if this does end up being the last letter I just want you to know that I was in a bad place before I started high school and you helped me. Even if you didn't know what I was talking about or know someone who's gone through it, you made me not feel alone. Because I know there are people who say all these things don't happen. And there are people who forget what it's like to be 16 when they turn 17. I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here and I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive, and you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song and that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment I swear, we are infinite.

Garden State

You know that point in your life when you realize the house you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? All of a sudden even though you have some place where you put your shit, that idea of home is gone.

You'll see one day when you move out it just sort of happens one day and it's gone. You feel like you can never get it back. It's like you feel homesick for a place that doesn't even exist. Maybe it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't ever have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for your kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I don't know, but I miss the idea of it, you know. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people that miss the same imaginary place.

Something happens at around 92 miles an hour.Thunder headers drown out all sound. Engine vibration travels at a heart's rate. Fields of vision funnels into immediate. And suddenly you're not on the road, you're in it, a part of it. Traffic,scenery,cops-- just cardboard cutouts blown over you as you pass. Sometimes i forget the rush of that. That's why i love these long runs, all your problems all the noise,gone. Nothing else to worry about except whats right in front of you. Maybe that's the lesson for me today, to hold on to these simple moments, to appreciate them a little more. There's not many of them left. I don't ever want that for you, finding things that make you happy shouldn't be so hard. I know you'll face pain, suffering, hard choices, but you can't let the weight of it choke the joy out of your life. No matter what, you have to find things that love you, run to them. There is an old saying. That which does not kill you  makes you stronger. I don't believe that. I think the things that try to kill you make you angry and sad. Strength comes from the good things.. your family, your friends, the satisfaction of hard work.Those are the things that keep you whole. Those are the things to hold on to when you're broken.

It is not always evil that is the problem. Mostly, stupidity is a bigger problem. Evil people know their limits, stupid people often do not..
