“I got my tree on Black Friday, it’s only right that you get a tree eventually! The best people are mad, so thank you for the compliment. Now come along, which one catches your eye?”
Asher shrugged pointing at the smallest fragile looking tree out of the bunch, “How about that one?”
The veterinarian physically took a step back in caution. Nora was not sure if upbeat mood was worth getting ruined over what looked like – a robot pretending to be a man. She was wasn’t afriend of death either, despite all the animals she’d put down in the past. “I’m joking about being sick. That’s what sick people do when they’re distract themselves from how sick they are with jokes.”
Asher began to realize he might of over reacted a bit, but he just couldn’t help himself sometimes. Guilt rushed over him realizing he made the interaction hostile and uncomfortable. “I- I’m sorry.” Asher quickly apologized. “I uh– I sometimes tend to get a little, carried away.” he explained an apologetic tone in his voice.
“Because,” Izzy started, starting to speak very slowly – but her movements soon got over excited and the young girl was all over the place. She didn’t get it; why someone wouldn’t want to make a Christmas Wonderland out of their apartment. “You need it for Christmas Wonderland. Who wouldn’t get a tree?”
“Izzy, okay, okay, I’ll get a tree.” Asher quickly replied trying to calm the younger girl down. “Relax okay kid, I’ll get the tree come on no need to shed a tear now.”

“It’s Cruel Intentions the musical and we open New Year’s day. Well that day but at night.”
“Cruel Intentions. . . the musical?” Asher repeated a tad bit surprised. “Wow, uh hell yeah sign me up.” Asher laughed intrigued now.

“It’s for your own food. Come on! We’re getting the best one that we can.” Ana looked over at him with a small smile and pulled him along.
Asher tried to keep up with Ana as she dragged him along the town heading to the quint little shop known for selling the best trees in Darlington. “Fine, fine, only cause you’re forcing me against my own will.” he joked.
“It will be great. It will make your flat look like you actually care about the holidays. You don’t want it to look bare and depressing, come on. You’ll thank me one day.”
Asher shook his head and shrugged, “If you really think a tree with lights will make my brilliantly decorated home look less depressing than fine, I’ll get the blimey tree.”

“What do you have against trees? It’ll be fun, I promise.”
“Absolutely nothing, well except for the fact a tree took down my entire family one by one and now we have a long line of bad blood.” Asher joked crossing his arms to pretend he was upset.

“You can’t go through December without a Christmas tree! That’s mad. Also it’s not like I’m making you decorate it! I offered to do it” Greer glared playfully.
“Uh yeah I could have – if a certain lady named Greer wasn’t pushing me to do so.” Asher complained playfully. “What? No way I’m not letting you have all the fun yourself, we’re both decorating the bloody thing.”
“I think I’m dying. It’s under my own professional medical opinion that I am dying and there’s no drugs out there that can make me better. Mallory gets the house. I’m giving Mason back Chloe. Say nice things at my funeral or else I will come back just to haunt your ass.”
“I’m sorry I missed the humor in all of this.” Asher replied his expression stone cold and serious. After dealing with death first hand and so close it was something he didn’t like to joke about and it seemed she was making a huge joke about it.
“You just have to come to my show. I am not opposed to begging.”
“Your show? Yeah sure of course when is it?”
“Brilliant, innit? The moon, I mean. I like clear nights like this because they’re so peaceful. Makes all the bad shite disappear for a while. It’s nice.”
Asher stepped out of his building complex to have a quick smoke when he spotted a girl standing alone just looking up at the night sky. Grabbing his neon colored lighter he walked over to the girl standing besides her as he lit his neatly wrapped spliff and looked up with her, listening to her as she began to speak. “It is nice, you’re right.” Asher simply replied taking a nice drag from the spliff.
"I cannot believe you’re forcing me to buy a Christmas tree for MY flat. You’re mad you know that right?” Asher chuckled lightly actually really grateful for Y/N getting him up off his ass to go and get into the holiday spirit knowing it’d be good for him.
“God it feels so good to be back home, and just in time for the holidays too huh? I’m really happy you were able to meet up for a drink.” Asher cheerily sang out as he reached for his beer taking a nice mouthful. “Well? Come on what have I missed, there has to be something someone forgot to tell me while I was in the States.”
