with the dawning realization that he was the only one present in the vacant theatre, asher saw no harm in letting himself b r e a t h e. the thought that for one small, insignificant moment he could be HIMSELF - a minute to step out from the suffocating darkness. maybe, insomnia did have it’s perks. he stumbled up onto the stage, grasping at a microphone - steady thrumming of his heart the only background music he truly needed. “when i close my eyes and try to sleep, i fall apart, i’m fighting hard to breathe.” his voice echos through the room, soft and melodic but deep and soulful all the same. “you’re the reason, the only reason. even though my dizzy head is numb, i swear my heart is never giving up.” – eyes snap open at the intrusion to his peace, gaze falling on the other person. “uh – ‘sup?”
ash felt his eyes being forced open as music blared from someone singing out on stage. rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he climbed out of the large bin of costumes that hid him away effortlessly. he passed through the backstage area, wondering who’s voice that way. stepping out into the light of the stage, he smiled as his gaze met the blonde. though, his smile was replaced by a loud yawn as it forced its way past his lips. “can you keep it down? some of us are trying to slee- study our lines.”
