I have recently been welcomed into a group chat for bears in trees fans and here are some lyrics that I feel have been written about us:

so i just got accepted into uni!! i am equally excited and petrified. you guys seem like you have good advice, any words of wisdom???

some people will tell you university is the best time of your life, and that you'll meet your closest friends there. some people say that they hated it and that they never want to go back. ultimately, do what makes you comfortable - if you want to go out and have new experiences and do the things that exist between your comfort zone and happy accidents then, do those things.

alternatively, if you want to spend that time learning how to maintain closer relationships with your old friends online and start new dnd games and host watch parties together and visit eachother and show one another your favourite breakfast place then, do those things.

don't listen to anyone who tells you what university is going to be like for you because they're not you, and they have no idea what you have been through or will go through there. a little fear is okay. trust what your heart says when your head is moving too fast to think. call the people you love as much as you can. it might feel empty at first, but that's just more space for you to make a garden.

I've tried for years to explain how I want to work in theatre because I love its ability to make people okay - someone could be having the worst week/month/year of their life but when they go to a show they can be okay for 3ish hours. And nobody has put it into words as well as Nick at the BiT concert: “Sometimes terrible events are just terrible and they didn’t deserve to happen to you and you didn’t deserve it and there are no greater meanings to be found in those events and that’s okay because you’re here now and we’re all here together and that’s all that matters” and then Iain comes in with the 'we don't have to be alone. We can all sing this together and be together in those feelings' and 'Through love and connection we can save each other's lives' and I am once again reminded of the power of humanity and the power of the arts and how we are all just people desperate to be heard and felt and seen and maybe that's in a room full of people singing about Mossy cobblestone

that's a whole album of love songs for our best friends, can you believe it? a whole album where the thesis statement is my best friends make me wanna live another day and where it carries and resounds and it's prettied up so so much and i could make a whole other post about the writing on it because it's fantastic (thinks of uni dorm mold being compared to klimt gold bc its the dorm you're sharing with your best friends. loses my mind) but i won't bc this is long enough and just. God. this isnt even touching on other songs like reverberate. i love this album so so much. im so glad i got to go to their show
