My arms used to be pretty.
A little vent.
It's been a while since my last post. I see drawings from people I used to talk to, from classmates. I just don't think I've made any progress with my drawing. I don't have a style, and I can't get many things right. I used to think I drew really well, but when I analyze it, I see... it's garbage. I want to draw, but I can't. I think I should just give up...
I'm already losing hope.

Ethan Walten: The Puppeteer of Despair
In the year 1970, in a small television studio in the heart of a vibrant yet troubled city, Ethan Walten stood as the creator of a puppet show titled "Night Puppets." At first glance, the show was a colorful and charming display of disguised and entertaining characters, but beneath the surface lay an ocean of despair, madness, and pain. The laughter and songs that filled the air were a veil covering the puppeteer's inner torment.
Ethan had once been a man full of hope and dreams. He had married Marta, his childhood sweetheart, and together they dreamed of a future filled with laughter and adventures. However, his life took a tragic turn when Marta was killed in a shooting. This heartbreaking event left him plunged into an abyss of agony, a pain that intensified with the death of his beloved cousin in a car accident. Each loss increased the pressure on his soul, leading him to a permanent state of sadness and despair.
In an attempt to make sense of his pain, Ethan found in puppet-making a way to express his traumas. Little by little, he began to perform a macabre ritual: he collected fragments of his broken heart and placed them inside his puppets, each reflecting a part of his suffering. Oliver, a melancholic-looking puppet, embodied his loneliness and despair; Connie, with her pirate attire, represented the accident of his cousin; and Walten, a figure symbolizing his wife, was a constant reminder of what he had lost.
Ethan's madness was palpable, a constant struggle between the appearance of happiness he showed on stage and the deep sadness that consumed him in his private life. His chivalry manifested in the way he treated others: a facade to hide his agony. People saw him as the charismatic and charming artist, but few knew the emotional turmoil that beat within him.
The world I knew was imbued with the culture of the 70s, a decade that oscillated between freedom and despair, between love and violence. Music and art flourished, but so did alienation and anxiety. This context shaped his perspective: he believed that life was ephemeral and that suffering was an inescapable constant. The search for connection became vital, but at the same time, his fear of loss kept him away from those who could have helped him.
Ethan possessed exceptional skills in puppet making, acquired through years of practice and a deep love for the art. His knowledge of manipulation and storytelling allowed him to tell stories through his characters, even though his mind was trapped in a cycle of self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
Internally, he struggled with a conflict: the desire to escape the pain through suicide clashed with his longing to stop being alone. The puppets became his only companions, reflecting his traumas and serving as a means to explore his emotions.
Currently, Ethan finds himself trapped in his dark world, at the mercy of his demons. His show, although popular, has become an emotional battleground. Each performance is a reminder of her pain, and she often wonders if it would be worth continuing the path of life or taking the leap into eternity. His immediate aspiration is to find a genuine connection with someone who can understand his torment, although his broken heart pushes him towards solitude.
Ethan Walten is a puppeteer who has woven his suffering into a show, lost among the shadows of loss and despair, trying to find his place in a world that seems to have forgotten how to heal. With each thread he ties to his puppets, his story intertwines more deeply with his pain, hoping that one day laughter can be real again.
EspaΓ±ol:
