I'm excited right there with you darlin! I enjoyed meeting you and being in groups together. I do agree with you on the picture I had in my head of how the characters looked in the book didn't look near as what I thought they would in the movie! But then again we knew the movie and book were not exactly alike! I thought the movie was very well played out and actually it clarified some things for me in the book I could not quiet picture good.

The movie was definitely a little bit different from the book however I enjoyed it. The bad scenes weren't near as bad as I thought they would be. But over I enjoyed it. The class has been great! Our professor was awesome and I'm glad I was able to see new faces and meet new people! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! And btw, good luck with finals

Agreed this book was very good. I also had the feeling that someone may die, especially the father considering his condition of deteriorating health. But it was sad to see him die. I did like how McCarthy left the boy in the hands of another family. This allowed the reader to feel warm about the fact that there are other “good guys” in the world.

Happy thanksgiving to all! Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! In excited to see how the book and movie go hand in hand. Just hoping that some of the scenes in the book that were very terrible aren't so detailed in the movie. But I guess we will see

I enjoyed the book but the end is very sad to me. The little boy has won my heart and after the great relationship with his father then his father passed away is very sad. He is very strong though when he was left abandoned! I like this book

There's no bond more precious than one of a parent & their child! The father and his son have an incredible bond. Throughout this whole book we can see how they communicate, how they get along, and how they are trying to survive. The father watches his son fall asleep nightly. This is a great relationship that cannot be broken. I know my father and I have an U breakable bond that will never be able to be separated or torn apart nor replaced! This book is very a good example of how a struggle between a father and son can turn into something good in the end.

I really thought I would enjoy this book but it’s just so slow, I’m so far behind on the readying assignment because I’ve been so busy lately, but also because I just can’t get into it. Has anyone else had this problem? Around what page does it get really good? I’m just ready to watch the movie in class. (P.S. Can talk believe that the semester is almost over! Wow time flys!)

I'm right there with you. I have been so sick that I have had trouble keeping up and I haven't been able to make it to class to the class discussion. This book though is a lot better than any of the others we have read.

I feel the same loss of “urge” to continue reading. It’s like the book has the potential to be great but I just don’t think I’m grasping it or something. Hopefully it starts to turnaround quick. Most likely I will start to enjoy the very end and then it will be over. haha

I like how throughout the book you become more and more interested in what's going on, they leave you hanging wanting to grab for more info and figure out what is happening next or what happened from the previous chapters. The book definitely grew on me and now I kinda like it and am interested to see how all the endings tie up together

Chapter 12 is very interesting into how its ties the book together trough a PowerPoint slide. How the conversations are through charts and through pictures. This definitely helped me understand and grasp the whole book because there was several chapters that I was unable to comprehend very well. This PowerPoint has meaning behind it because you can see more of how the families and talks shape out through the diagrams.

In the book A Visit From The Goon Squad, I was very shocked as too how the book has begun. I didn't expect it to be a book about Bennie & Sasha's love life & their present and past times. Bennie is very out there as to the way he is with Sasha & his sex life. Bennie is almost a different breed of person. This book I can see how it was picked because some of the things that take place because it is kinda what our generation now experiences.

I wasn't expecting the book to be the same either. The jumping around has it very hard for me to stay tuned in & for me to understand the plot much less the setting of the book. The book is post modern in several ways. I do like though that some things happening in the book we can relate to in this day & time!

The two stories we read were a little different. The second one was kind of hard to understand. The first few short stories we read I actaully liked but these two were not my favorite. I am excited about starting our next book. My favorite thing we read so far was The Things They Carried.

The mid term exam was very much like our study guides that we had made. I felt like the answers where a little tough because when we did our study guide that the answers where somewhat of your own opinion own answer. But over all I felt good with my exam

So not really sure what to post. The midterm review this week was so helpful. I had forgotten most of what happened in the things they carried and some of the short stories we had read. But after doing the midterm review I feel very confident about Monday. Thank you prof. Clark for this review process and good luck to everyone.

I agree with you. I did like the fact we were able to work in groups and make up our own questions that prof Clark is going to use for our midterm. It was a very interning and interactive way to study. I liked it rather than her giving us a piece of paper and says here is your study guide test on Monday...

Not too sure what to post since we just did the midterm review this week. But I have to say I enjoyed getting into groups and reviewing the stories and novels and making our own test questions. It was definitely enjoyable way of studying.

I agree with you. The book did end very unexpectedly but most books do that. The authors have a way of making you like the book all the way until the end. I just wish the key would have been to something extremely cool that killed it for me after we found out what the key went too.
