OEM Wednesday continues to be a post I do each week to share more about what emergency management is with our residents and our community!
I will always be a firm believer in teaching small acts of preparedness. While we face massive barriers in our communities regarding resilience, the small acts of knowledge can help save a life and cost nothing.
Mental health posts are important for current times while we continue to endure the pandemic heading into spring of 2021.
Always trying to tout #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors and #CommunityIsKey
Definitely a corny, Valentine’s Day favorite!
One of my favorite things to do is to amplify partner’s emergency response calls and provide safety information. Not only do we share the great work our first response partners do, but we also use the moment to educate the rest of the public.
Another social media post that was aiming to get poll participation as a part of our required public input for our Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
Any post that helps to teach the community about local/state EM is a win with me!
Wanted to share some love to our county students on their first day of hybrid learning for those who changed their learning method today. Our kiddos have been so resilient during the pandemic! I can’t wait to watch the next generation of leaders take on challenges.
Created a graphic for the two cold weather shelters that we open up on nights that fall below freezing. Hoping to use this graphic (and create a couple of others) to rotate and share for each time they open.
I also included alt text! Otherwise those who cannot read without accessible tools would not have access to the shelter location.
Had to share a HAPPY METEOROLOGICAL SPRING post today, and was able to tie it into our springtime hazards and our Hazard Mitigation Plan revision community survey. Hopefully some took the poll.
We continue to message the pandemic - 10 to 11 months into the response. I happened to wash my mask on Wednesday and saw a perfect opportunity to highlight our brand as well as give a reminder to wash them. I need that reminder myself sometimes. ;)
As we continued to start with basic planning, the next step was identifying local hazards and threats in our area. This also aligned with the topics pushed by Do1Thing program for January.
This is the second post of our Monday emergency notebook content. We shared my own emergency planning journal and some of the content that I designed and have done for my own needs.
We kicked off the first week of 2021 continuing the excitement to start preparedness actions for the new year! We decided to start simple with the idea to start with a designated notebook.
