A while back I received an ARC of “A Study in Charlotte,” by Brittany Cavallaro from @epicreads and I really loved this book! I haven’t read any Sherlock Holmes books before, but after reading this book, I may soon!
Here’s my reimagined book cover I created inspired by Charlotte’s lab in the book.
Obsessed with SnowBaz and this new print from @designsbyand.
So glad that you liked the print!

Top Books I Read in 2015
Anna and the French Kiss Lola and the Boy Next Door Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins @naturallysteph I wish I would have read these books sooner, as Stephanie Perkins has now become among my favorite authors! (And I’m not just saying that because I met her at Nerd Con: Stories and she liked the custom tote bag I designed). While they are technically stand alone books, I think they are best read in the order in which they were published, as the characters from previous books interact with characters in the following books. My favorite of the three books is Isla and the Happily Ever After, which made me cry happy tears at the end, and made me instantly want to read it all over again.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han @jennyhan I really like the concept and characters of these books, especially Lara Jean, who enjoys baking and scrapbooking, and keeps her love letters in a teal hat box (until those letters get sent out). Out of the two books, I liked P.S. I Still Love You more, due to the assassins game, the USO party, and John Ambrose McClaren (sorry Peter K.)
A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall @sandywrites The first thing that struck me about this book was how beautiful the cover was (typical graphic designer), but upon further inspection, the story seemed adorable, and I knew I had to read it. I love that the story was set in college, and the fact that it was told by 14 different perspectives, including a bench and a squirrel!
The Selection Series by Kiera Cass @partylikeawordstar Before reading, I had heard that this series is basically the reality show, The Bachelor, meets The Hunger Games, which is just fine by me! These books are fairly addicting and fun to read. I also enjoyed the collection of short stories, Happily Ever After, as I liked learning more about the other characters, and I can’t wait for The Crown to come out.
The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet by Bernie Su @berniesu and Katie Rorick @noblerorick I loved watching the Lizzie Bennet Diaries on YouTube, and keeping up with the social media accounts of each character. Because of the interactive elements during the video series, I thought it was really interesting to see more insight behind Lizzie’s videos in the book. I also love the fact that the audiobook was narrated by Ashley Clements, and also hope to pick up a copy of The Epic Adventures of Lydia Bennet soon.
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven @jenniferniven I’ve often seen this book being compared to two books I love, Eleanor and Park, and The Fault in Our Stars. I’m not sure that comparison is entirely accurate, but I for one loved this book too! I especially enjoyed seeing the relationship between Violet and Finch, and the road trip-like aspect where they discovered the “natural wonders” of Indiana (though I was heartbroken by the end).
Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot I love basically anything Meg Cabot writes, especially The Princess Diaries series, so I was really excited when this book was announced. I thought it was great to see Mia as an adult, (and still together with Michael, unlike the version that Disney made up), and was glad to see other characters from the previous books as well. I would love to see other books featuring Mia as an adult, and I also hope to make it to Book Con this year so I can meet Meg Cabot!
My boyfriend gave me the deluxe edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for our first Christmas together. The next year, he gave me the second and third books. This year, I received the rest of the set. #happy #booknerd #harrypotter #christmas
