now i know there's some things that are missing here, but there were a few things that had to be cut simply because there's just SO MUCH lore and theories it's near impossible to get everything. if you think i missed something really big, let me know! and thank you guys for your help with this, I'd like to consider this a small phandom project with how much input yall had ❤️

i fear if you automatically think the people mad about the finale are just bylers/milevens that are mad that their ship hasn't "won", you are a tremendous part of the problem.
regardless of the ships, the insane amount of plot holes do in fact make it bad writing.
they have had THREE years to prepare this season. they promised us all of our questions would be answered. so why do i have more questions than before????? why is over 75% of the fandom so unsatisfied??????
why have we all had to convince ourselves that there were over 2 hours of scenes cut for the sake of having a last shred of hope for the finale????
people being mad over the ending goes BEYOND shipping wars. FAR beyond shipping wars. and it goes far beyond simple 'queerbaiting' too. will byers having such an ambiguous ending is blatant homophobia, while el having an ambiguous ending is not only an assassination to her character, but misogyny at its finest.
of all characters, why are the two of the most outcasted ones given the least satisfying endings? especially when these two characters are the reason the show has gotten this far in the first place?
when i say i'm mad about the finale, i don't mean i'm mad about byler not happening. that may well be the LEAST of my worries right now. it's what byler not happening represents. especially at this time period.
it's what robin and vickie breaking up off-screen and not getting their date at enzo's represents. it's what will's NON-CONFIRMED bf having no lines represents. it's what steve being in the room every single time eddie is mentioned in season 5 represents. it's what robin and nancy having little to no interactions represents. it's what el and max's lackluster reunion followed by el's claim that only mike has ever understood her represents. it's what the 'lovebirds' joke about steve and jonathan represents because that's all queer ships are to these men. a joke.
but not only queer ships, because once again, el as a character?? jane hopper? being given THAT ending? when she's been suffering from the start? so they decide the best ending for her is to make her suffer even more and follow it up with the slap in the face that was the potential ending she could've had which we know she didn't because it wouldn't make any sense??
it just irritates me how many people are trying to claim that others are just being childish for having negative opinions and conflicted feelings about the finale. because if you thought that THAT was a satisfying ending for EVERY character, please wake up.
wait why am i actually laughing about how bad it is? like every time i think about "not friends... best friends!" i start cackling, this is so egregiously bad that i cant even take it seriously

alright first of all I cannot understand why we’re giving a show w zionist actors any attention but for the sake of younger queers:
queer baiting is disgusting. it leaves you feeling small and ridiculed. the solution is and always has been consuming queer art. I know you want recognition from mainstream shows and it’s great when that happens but what you need is to be surrounded by your weird beautiful community. read queer books. watch queer shows. if we can’t find queer rep we make it ourselves; we always have. gaywatch on youtube is a great place to start.

every time i think about the fact that the GA considered will weak before this makes me laugh bc that boy is literally an aries. he has always had that dog in him.
"eyes on me" "eyes on me remember" and suddenly he's 13 years old watching men with guns get torn apart by demodogs and he doesnt want these kids to see that. he doesnt want these kids to remember that the way he does. holy shit. mike wheeler.
did some tarot readings on the byler gates to see the likelihood of them actually happening
lovers lake - slightly disappointing, not what we think it is. takes place either before or after a fight, but couldn't tell if the fight was an argument or physical confrontation. a moment of rest and a specific "byler" related scene. the likelihood of a confession in this scene depends on what kind of fight happens. argument = higher likelihood, physical fight = lower likelihood.
flickergate - intentional, but may not be as related to byler as we think. Nancy came to mind, and I wondered if it's actually her causing the flicker as a sort of warning. almost a "can we change the future by messing with the upside down." we're on the right track, but off course.
birthday gate - intentional, but the resolution is both frustrating and satisfying to fans. honestly felt like a throwaway explanation and not something that will actually have a big impact in the show. it's satisfying though because people will be vindication by it being brought up.
lettergate - very unfortunately, not likely to be what we think it is. the actual letter is not byler related, writers did the leak to intentionally make bylers think it was from mike to will, but it's likely to be a letter from someone else to someone else. my guess, one of max's letters.
churchgate - VERY surprisingly to me, actually likely to happen? didn't feel "byler" centered, but more mike centered. a "confession" or "no longer lying to oneself" will happen here. i did specifically see a walking away from religion, which kind of surprised me, since religion hasn't really been a core theme for mike in the series, but i mean.. there was something there, so uh.. cool!
now on the topic of byler as a whole.. well.. lets just bylers will be on cloud nine, but very overwhelmed 🤫

seems i was right about us not having the right idea about loverslake and it not being what we think it is and is a moment of rest before a fight, definitely not a confession scene, but i wonder if we'll get more about the whole back half of episode 4 during volume 2.
flickergate, birthdaygate, and lettergate still havent been addressed.
as for churchgate.. im seeing some conflicting ideas on if the confrontation with vecna was technically churchgate or not. if so, i think im pretty accurate besides thinking it was mike centered as opposed to will centered. but we still have 4 episodes left and honestly.. i will never doubt the duffers ability to pull off a byler scene in the middle of this chaos again.
also i didnt add this to the original post and am now wishing i would had, but when i read how fans would react, i actually read for the general audience, bylers, and milevens specifically. i saw the general audience confused, and i saw bylers as overwhelmed but satisfied, and also feeling like they need to explain or convince the GA, but with milevens.. i honestly saw a switch up. i saw that they were genuinely blown away by what happens and joined in on this need to explain and convince the GA. and we are already seeing that, ive seen so many comments about how they used to hate byler, but after the 4th episode, they are starting to see it/ship it. im not one to usually be all peace maker, but i think we as bylers should have as much grace as possible for milevens (within reason, ofc), as we may need their help in combating homophobic rhetoric from the GA.
but you know.. it is all tarot, so i guess we still need to wait and see what happens!
