I think I finally found the best way to revise for me: creating mind maps
i’ve been reading a lot lately :-)
I had this girl in my class and she was considered to be like really dumb. She’d ask a ton of doubts and questions in class, which everybody would consider to be “stupid"and “silly” and even the teachers would often taunt her but she’d never stop asking. But the thing was that she’d almost always top the class examinations and everyone was like???? They all thought she was cheating and stuff and obviously even the teachers were very biased because she wasn’t so ‘smart’ in class, and she was regularly accused of cheating. But nobody could prove that she was actually cheating but the whole class and teachers totally believed that she did. I’m pretty socially awkward so I never really talked to her, but she was leaving school this year and I was genuinely curious about how she was so good during exams and how she didn’t let everyone’s remarks affect her. She always used to sit and hang out with only one girl, and she told me that that friend of hers was severely socially anxious and she’d lag in studies because she couldn’t bring herself to ask doubts in class or ask for help from others. So they had this system where during lectures her friend would write down any question she had, and she would ask them for her. And I was just so touched??? Idk but it really changed the way I looked at people?? This girl endured taunts and jeers and borderline bullying for being “stupid” when she was actually really smart and could easily have refused to ask such doubts for her friend but she did?? And brushed off everything others would throw at her for her friend?? I was just, idk it just really changed me in some way.
the thing is, somebody cares. i know your best friend seems really busy all the time and is shit at texting but she still loves you and she talks to you more than she talks to anyone else and you’re the only breath of calm she has on this planet. the boy in your science class loves seeing what music you’re listening to on your headphones - he has the same taste and wishes he had the nerve to ask you about it. your english teacher loves the insight you have on your papers. somebody cares. the person who lives down the street from you notices when you are sick because they don’t see you stomping your way to the schoolbus - it’s how they know it’s time to get their breakfast ready. somebody is looking for you at the party, even if they don’t know they’re really looking for you - but when you don’t show up, some part of them is disappointed. somebody is looking for you in the library, in the spot where you eat lunch, in front of that one step you always seem to trip on. i know your parents are a complicated mess and there’s drama between your friends and your love life is sort of shaped like a constant question and everybody seems all caught up in their own lives and their own happiness and nobody really notices: but somebody always does. every face in your dreams is someone you have met, and that means that you are in a million’s stranger’s heads. they see you when they go to bed. and somebody cares. somebody still thinks about you even though you were just a person with a nice outfit or good eyeliner or a great smile or because you were having one of those moments that are so charmingly human in nature or because they regret not asking if you needed help when you fell or because they wonder what you were thinking about or drawing or writing or just because you’re alive, and that makes you fascinating. somebody cares. when you were on break from work and saw a dog hanging his head out of the car and suddenly broke into a smile: there was a girl in the back of that car, and I was her, and I still think about you, and i hope you get more chances to smile like that. and there is you, sitting here reading this, and by some small extension, meeting me, and i am telling you, I care. somebody always does. i promise. i promise. you are loved.

Okay, so I was talking to my friend, and she was telling me about her having to leave school because she was dressed ‘inappropriately’ for school, and was 'distracting others from learning’. Now, the teacher said 'the boys need to learn in a distraction free environment’. My friend was removed from her class, in order to limit distractions. When you take away a young girls education, in order to further the education of a man, you are teaching her that her schooling is less important than that of males. This isn’t progress, if a girl is being objectified based on her clothes, she is not the sole source of a problem.
it’s a soft and cozy day ♡

Wishing you all a happy weekend! This week I decided to go with a yellow theme. Since I love to collage, I decided to add a few clippings to this week’s spread as well. One week of AP testing is down and we’ve got one more week to go! To my fellow AP students and those of you taking the SATs this weekend, I wish you good vibes and a good night’s sleep. Remember not to study too hard!
Monday // May 09th
My weekly spread ! I’m not too happy about it and I really need to buy more washi tape … Last week was okay, I wrote some good bits of my novel and passed my English Exam. I am quite down school wise lately because all of my grades have been quite low this term. I am under such a big stress regarding my oncoming finals because I need to have good grades. I know I am going to have my degree but I hoped to get a mention and now it’s threatened by my bad results…
two of my favourite study things - my label maker and decomposition notebook! Never underestimate the power of the label maker 😂🙌🏻 #theorganisedstudent
