I’m I did indeed purchase the full set. The chibis were just so cute, and I was curious about the continuation of the April Fool’s mini stories.
Here are our four plot points:
These stories are a very good length, with the “shortest” being Dompteur Holdings at a very respectable 176 screens long. The longest is The Michel House, at 213 screens. All four stories together gives you a hefty 790 screens of content.
Let’s begin with Dompteur Holdings.
Apologies for the format 😔. I have been super busy, very tired, and these were almost 800 screens to get through. Please read the top row first, from left to right, then continue with the bottom row, from left to right.
We jump right into the thick of it with influencer drama. Someone’s been leaving negative reviews of all of Dompteur Holding’s restaurants:
The influencer is loudly proclaiming on the interwebs that Dompteur Holdings is out here scamming its customers. This is driving away customers and causing the company to lose money.
Good thing they keep a no-nonsense lawyer on retainer:
You talk with Yves and Jin to try to get their take on why this is happening.
Yves is incensed that someone would dare to even suggest that his ingredients aren’t locally sourced. Jin is calmly pissed that his wines are being slandered as vinegar.
Each of them has you taste test a new product of theirs. You get the idea to set up a couple of food stalls and leave the name of the company out. That way, when the influencer samples the food, you’ll get their honest reaction, in public, where they can’t take it back:
It goes over well, with the influencer forced to give an embarrassed apology after having been caught unknowingly praising Dompteur Holding’s food to the high heavens:
Second up, we have The Michel House.
Let me just get this out of the way: Chevalier fans, our husband is really committed to being seen and not heard because he only speaks 4 times in the whole 213 screens. Technically, he has “six” lines, but two of those lines are literally “…..”
So don’t buy this is all you care about is Chev content. He’s hardly in the story, although he does secretly go out of his way to leave a latte on your desk to cheer you up with something sweet.
Do, however, buy this story if you want to see the twins be adorably close with one another for the first time in their adult lives:
Licht and Nokto have a couple of cute, brotherly scenes, unlike how they typically ignore one another’s existence.
We also get to see a Clavis that isn’t pulling a prank every two seconds. He’ll still find a way to get over, though:
While you enjoy working for this company, you still have to keep your guard up due to the nature of the industry.
Unfortunately, someone sees an opportunity to exploit, and you find yourself in a situation:
Clavis is always one to help someone vulnerable, so after rescuing you from your creepy stalker, he offers you a fully secure, fully paid for apartment as a bonus when you sign back on with the company.
The third story, GVO Conglomerate, almost took me out, I was laughing so hard. This is, by far, my favorite story of the set.
As a new employee, you’re finding out the hard way that GVO must be some kind of underworld front for something, because we are you in an alleyway shoot out while on the clock?:
I was waiting for Jude and Ellis to come walking around the corner or something. This seems like a normal Tuesday for them!
Gilbert is rather upfront with calling Sariel out for being a corporate spy (for Chevalier), although Sariel vehemently denies this.
When Gilbert’s not looking, Sariel offers to help you get out of the company. Not that he’s a spy or nothing:
Turns out, Gilbert’s been receiving death threats ever since he intervened the other day. Your one job is to throw all the threatening letters in the trash.
After this flashback, we head straight back into the gunfire, which Gilbert isn’t even paying any attention to:
He’s worried about the wrong thing as usual:
Turns out the death threats were all real, but you were dragged into this particular situation so that Gilbert could see how pure your heart was. Could you do the right thing in a stressful situation, including standing up to someone in power, who held your job in his hands.
The final story, Ricci & Co. Holdings, was my least favorite. There’s nothing wrong with the story itself, it’s jus that compared to the other three, nothing is really happening.
You’re really impressed by Rio’s demonic ability to work as hard as 100 people and never tire, and Silvio believes in your capacity to overcome any challenge. So much so, actually, that he takes a tough project from Keith and gives it to you.
Azel does his thing where he won’t help out some form of payment, Rio does his thing where he tries not to faint because you turned his head a millimeter in his direction. Silvio gives Rio noogies every chance he gets, even if it makes no sense. Keith doesn’t talk much, but has a cute scene where he gives you encouragement:
Again, nothing wrong with the story— it’s fine. I was happy to all four stories and all of the chibis. This story is more about each of the characters having a quiet, but solid belief in you and your skills. They’re all rooting for you, and in the end that’s what helps you secure the deal.
I really loved the length of all of these stories. There were no black screens taking up space, and it was very nice to see all of the characters outside of their usual settings, doing and experiencing things they normally wouldn’t.
I am disappointed that Chevalier hardly opened his mouth, but he’s hardly a talkative character anyway, and his presence as the formidable and strict CEO is kind of in line with someone who wouldn’t be wasting time socializing with others when he could be working, anyway.
Chevalier is either silently present or mentioned in all three stories outside of The Michel House, as well.
I think it was a fair deal for what I got, although I’m not happy that the large set has so few tickets, but I’m not going to cry about it. I wasn’t even looking at how many tickets it came with when I purchased it, because I was going more for the story and the cute chibis.
I’m happy with this purchase, especially GVO Conglomerate!
