Cosplay Etiquette PSA

Please don’t ask for an individual shot of someone in a group cosplay unless you’re planning on getting individuals of everyone.

It’s the equivalent of saying that you don’t think the other people in the group are as good as the one you want a photo of. It makes the other people in the group feel shitty. People do cosplay groups for a reason. Please treat them like a group, not like a great cosplayer and their annoying entourage.

I didn't want to make a post like this, but I seriously think it needs to be said. I know South Africans are sometimes a bit oblivious to cosplay etiquette but let me spell something out; don't attend a convention and then promptly go up to someone and start pointing out everything that you don't think is congruent with the mirror image of a character. I was cosplaying as Ellie today and a guy (without a costume) told me how I shouldn't wear the torch on my backpack because she (Ellie) didn't have one and only Joel did. And that she only got a rifle later in the game and couldnt have both that and the pistol as props. Cosplay shouldn't be about exact accuracy otherwise none of us could do it; it should be about expression and having fun. And don't put down someone's hard work either. Just not cool yo. (I'll post pictures later of my cosplay though 😄)
