Details in The Fabric {Rebecca & Ashton}
Rebecca felt a whole new set of feelings that she hadnāt felt in years as she sat there with Ash. For the first time in months things felt simple, and that was saying something in this world. She didnāt have to force the smile on her lips, the soft smile that sat there was purely real, and that felt wonderful. She almost laughed when he mentioned making sure she didnāt fall on her face, it was like heād read her mind. āIād really appreciate it if you didnāt let me smash my face in.ā She added in an amused tone, actually laughing softly when she began to imagine him putting her on the board and pushing her down the street. It actually sounded fun to her, and fun was something sheād been seriously lacking in her life latelyā¦maybe for a lot longer than just the epidemic.
"I canāt even remember the last time I had fun. I mean, before your little stunt off the roof, that was fun. All I ever do is work." She murmured after a moment. "But anyways, like I said, itād be really awesome if you didnāt let me smash my face in." She repeated, her smile still on her lips. "Howād you get into skateboarding anyways?"Ā
Ashton stared at the horizon as they talked, taking in the the scenery that he didn't get to see all that often. Sure this was Bec's spot and this is where she went to think but Ashton wasn't about to take that away from her. He might of jumped off a building with his skateboard but he was still a little nervous around heights, not completely but enough for him to think about. He smiled as she spoke, he found it hard to believe she didn't have fun before his stunt, she seemed like the sort of girl to put herself out there.
"Well, now with a friend like me, you won't have to worry about that." He said softly. He hesitated on the word friend, unsure of where they stood. He knew it was stupid to think about but it was just a strange situation. "I heard about it from my friend from school. See I only had two friends pretty much my whole schooling life. They taught me everything that I know and it just went on from there. We went skating all the time, day and night." He smiled, reflecting back on fond memories. "I want to hear more about you - We've talked about where I'm from and why I skate and all the rest, but what about you?" He said, turning his face and looking at her. "What's your story."Ā
