Geralt of Rivia | 1.03 “Betrayer Moon”
Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher 1.01 ’The End’s Beginning’

open thread | eloise x anyone @crookedsoulsstarters location: market
Eloise needed more supplies for the med bay and god forbid she ask anyone to do it for her. Anytime someone went out to get stuff for her, they always forgot something or picked up the wrong things. So, now she preferred to go herself. Walking through the market, she tried to take in as much of her surroundings as she could. All the different species intermingling, it was something that had always kept her curious. Also, she hoped one of these days she’d run into her sister again, but that was a dream she kept on the back burner of her mind.
Her hands were full with supplies in addition to the bag she’d brought along. After the Circus nightmare, she needed a restock on everything and she was too stubborn to make more than one trip. However, that didn’t stop her from literally tripping over the uneven ground and launching some of the supplies out of her hands. Bandages, gauze, ointments, everything went flying all over the dirt path. Groaning loudly, she bent down to start picking it up, cursing to herself the whole time. Looking up, she noticed someone walking by and didn’t care whether or not they were human, she needed help. “Hey!” she called out, “can you grab that roll of bandages by your foot?”
There was some concern about what the market was selling and what it was trading for the wares. Yet again, Ash found himself pushed out of his safe haven and into the world that only ever made him want to distance further into the Silver City, and away from all of this. The noise was too much, the people were too much and he barely even had a breath to register that someone was speaking to him because when he looked at her face it was like seeing his- no. “What?” the query was rougher than he intended, before he knelt down to pick up the now filthy bandages. “These are supposed to be clean when they’re used. Bit of a waste now.”

“Fuck me,” Sammy groaned as he looked down at the crumpled body of the human in front of him. “I just got these goddamn shoes.” He complained to himself as he kicked a bit of the pathetic creatures end trails off his foot. Disgusting. He shook his foot a few times before wiping it on the grass and making a bit of a face. He bent down tipped the mans head back a bit. Looking at the mess he’d made, Sammy felt his heart start to hammer in his chest. This thing had taken out one of his buddies a few weeks ago. How it had managed that he’d never know. The sakes of meat had away about them he supposed. Still, Sammy had been hoping for a bit more of a fight. Expecting a little too much of them. How disappointing.
Carefully Sammy pulled his hand back only to have the guy cough up blood. The Fallen screamed, his wings flaring out as he stumbled back. “Jesus christ. Die already! Goddamn it, dude.” He snapped before bringing his foot down on the humans face a few times. Nose broke first, then the cheek bones and jaw. Finally the thing stopped squirming around and Sammy’s new shoes were thoroughly coated in blood, brain, and whatever else humans had knocking around inside their tiny heads.
He turned at the sound of someone approaching and, like someone who’d just stepped in dog shit, hopped over to nearest tree. Which Sammy then used to scrape the brain matter off his shoe with. “Humans, man. Even kill’em is getting boring. ‘Mean if I wanted something with a lot of build up and an ending thats pathetic to the point of crying over it, I could have stayed home and jerked off.”
Ash was about tired of having to leave the Silver City because of Sammy. One day, he might actually kill the bastard, but so far it hadn’t happened yet. This time, it wasn’t even about his current kill but about the demon Ash had seen the fallen hanging around. Ash knew that one too well- and knew why Sammy had a pension for him. He’d been tracking the other for days now, quietly in the shadows, waiting for the opportune moment. Trouble was, he’d gotten held up at a bar with another demon and hadn’t gotten out in time to save the human. As he approached the scene, sword in hand, he stared at the horror the fallen had created with disgust.
It was one thing to kill them. It was entirely other to do this.
“Why?” He knew the answer but he asked anyway, “why?” He knew the upbringing of all the Angelics. Knew what they had done and what they were capable of- knew that they didn’t fall just to fall. And had hoped that perhaps those that fell might have at least stopped their sins from harming those they used to protect. His hand tightened as he raised the blade, pressing it against Sammy’s throat. “You would kill the ones you used to save. Why.”

Cory didn’t learn to swim till later in her life, teaching herself when sneaking her sister and herself into the local gym. It was at first for a shower when things were tough but when she figured that it was a smart skill to have she knew they couldn’t let the pool there go to waste. Now that she lived near a place like Crescent lake she was glad to have learned, laying out a towel, kicking off her shoes and tossing her clothes on the towel. It was between jumping into the crystal clear waters and letting the weightlessness feeling wash over her. Or soaking up the sun rays or on some nice nights before the full moon, the moon light on her skin.
Sitting at the waters edge with her feet dipped into the refreshing calming waters it was the snap of a branch that caused the she-wolves head to tilt up slightly. Wondering if there was some stranger wandering around the lupis territory or if she was going to get some uninvited company to her relaxing swim. “Its a little cold when you first get in. I suggest taking a leap.” She says before looking behind her at the treeline.
How do I always end up where I’m not supposed to be. This time, he’d been called upon. He hated being called upon. It meant that whatever he was needed for was something the others couldn’t handle and while he was all for the justice he doled out, he didn’t not much care for venturing into enemy territories. Fully armed, he’d roamed through lupis entirely unintentionally. There had been rumor of fallen working their way through each division, and he was meant to track them down and stop them. Problem was, he’d lost his navigation and now he was knee deep in forest with a very sour look and a growling stomach. As he stepped through to the smell of the ocean, he quickly turned his face away from the woman- she was not unclothed but it didn’t matter. It was the principle of it. Respect, and all that.
“I wasn’t planning on swimming,” the reply was a bit more gruff than he wanted, “can you direct me toward Myre Grove, perhaps?”
Where: The Haven Who: Open ( @crookedsoulsstarters )
There seemed to be a substantial amount of recovery from the dark that had rained down upon the cities some time ago. The damage had been severe, catastrophic for some, deadly for others. But he was pleased as he walked the streets- despite all the lurking and unholy things that came around corners only to stop short at the sight of him - that at least in neutral territory there was some progression since. It bothered him still, how it had all happened and why the darkness came so quickly. It was like he could still feel the toxicity in his lungs and in the air. He didn’t care to think about the awful circus that had rolled through. He could still feel the burn of the fire on his skin. Something else was coming, that much he knew, but what and when were the questions. Stopping just short of a bar, he looked down the alley to find someone huddled. “Are you alright?”

Freyja had no idea what she was doing. She hadn’t been raised around the chaos and hoopla of such a place. And while it wasn’t the normal chaos, it was enough for her to get incredibly overwhelmed. She had thought that it would be a good thing for her to take Evan up on his offer. She wouldn’t be in a cell anymore, she wouldn’t be used on a daily basis. However, she found that this place, and the work she had to do, whether it was simple for most, was not to her.
She carried the tray of drinks towards the table and lowered them slowly. She was just proud of her that she hadn’t tripped or dropped the tray. “Sorry for the wait. I–I haven’t been working here for long. Still learning.” Her voice wasn’t all that confident but she tried to put on a smile. “Is there anything else I can do for you?”
As the waitress approached the table, he looked upon her. The distress in her gaze, though not prevalent to most, was very much visible to him. It rested just behind the facade she wore, like a shadow creeping across her irises. He knew it, all Angelics and their descendants did. As the tray was lain, he plucked off the food and drink he’d ordered, silent for a moment as he contemplated what might be in it considering this was demon territory. It was a wonder he hadn’t been killed yet. Or had to kill-- yet. Ash offered her a smile, “Nothing, thank you. Unless you’d like to talk about why you’re trembling.”
Where: The Outerworld Who: @sinful-souls (Lina)
Ash rarely ever found himself outside of the Silver City anymore. He’d lnog left the fighting behind and not just for his new position but to better aid in the scars he’d received from too many battles. Healing was wonderful but it didn’t stop everything. Never-the-less, Lina had asked him to assist and while he might’ve pawned the job off to someone else more suited to be out and about, he had a hard time telling her no. The ground crunched beneath their feet, the sword on his back a testament to his younger days, with some added weaponry on his belt for good measure. Where they were headed, he didn’t know, nor did he think to ask. He was also absolute shit at breaking silence, or even conversation, but he’d try. “So...how’s...training?”
