I was bitten by a freaky spider after I broke into an abandoned Oscorp R&D facility, and for the last two and a half years, I have been the one (and only) Aurachnid. But maybe you don't know the rest…

I lost my best friend, got some upgrades, made more friends, lost pretty much everything, was homeless for a while, started seeing a mass murderer as a father figure, traveled the multiverse, and got a girlfriend, but maybe you don't know the rest.

I get hit a lot, but no matter how hard, or how many times it happens, I always get back up… you just gotta give me a minute.

I'm gonna switch back to my old white suits for the summers I stg. Yeah, it's a bitch to clean, but skintight, full-body, black kevlex is doing me no favors in this heat. I need a ice-themed villain. The diapause would be worth it.

Do you think Marquette, MI needs a new vigilante? I hear they're topping out around the low-seventies this week.

Heat-related illness would be such an anti-climactic way to go

Oh fuck, it's been a minute.

Shit. I'm not gonna lie, today kinda sucks for me. Nothing like a national holiday all about dads to remind you that you're an orphan, huh? There's not many people out there who are able to celebrate exactly like they did before the Vanishing, so at least I'm not alone.

This time last year I was still feeling kinda weird about calling Castle "dad," even if he promised he was cool with it, so we kinda just didn't talk that day, which wasn't that weird because it's not like we talk every day anyway. We're both busy people.

But this year, I dunno, I was feeling more comfortable, and I figured Fathers Day has also gotta suck a whole bunch when your kids are dead, y'know? Even if he has had way longer to come to terms with it.

I thought it might be better for both of us if we weren't alone, so in the morning I went to the Vanishing memorial to talk to my dads, and he went to visit his family. Then I got takeout from his favorite Sicilian place and we watched a movie (Max Max: Fury Road, natch).

He tried to act like it was no big deal, but I know him too well. Besides, I think we both needed a night off.

Oh, hahaha. Hey, doc. Don't worry, my fighting style is not born out of any form of self-hatred. I just lacked any form of training for way too long

That said, Castle and Nicky have been doing their best to break me of this habit with some success, which my body is very thankful for.

Still, I appreciate the concern doc. It's nice to know people care, y'know?

Granted, this method was far more effective on non-enhanced petty criminals as opposed to say, the Green Goblin, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Big news everybody!

I'm not dead lmao, but that's not the big news. The big news is that my lease is ending soon and Nicky, my gf, doesn't wanna live in the dorms anymore, so we're gonna get an apartment together!!

Our first anniversary just passed, so we're not rushing into anything, and she knows about the spidery stuff, so I don't have to worry about hiding that.

I'm a little nervous about living with a significant other for the first time, but mostly I'm just really, really excited.

It's officially been three years since the Vanishing.

I realized that that means I've been a vigilante for twice as long as Peter was. It's weird to think about, because every time I think about him, I remember a guy who had (most) things figured out, but he didn't.

Every year without him I learn more and more lessons the hard way. I think about the way things went down with Mysterio, and I can't help but think he'd be disappointed in me for falling for it. But I know that can't be true.

He was sixteen. We were both just kids. If I fell for Beck's bullshit with four years of experience under my belt—

I'm not sure there's a point to this. I guess I'm just realizing that Peter was human. He didn't have all the answers and he fucked up sometimes, but watching him take hits and get back up is why I didn't give up after my first fight with Rhino.

Peter wasn't perfect, but he was my best friend, and I don't want to keep using his memory to beat myself up, y'know?
