Clay anxiously paced for a few steps as he stood outside their apartment door. Would they even be home? Would they even want to see him?

He had been gone for such a long time he wasn’t even sure. But he wanted to see them so badly. He missed them so much and he just wanted to talk to them, even if it was just the once more.

He took a deep breath and steeled his mind.

He then stepped forward and knocked on the door.

“I-I know I’ve been gone a long time and I’m so sorry... I just... I really wanted to see you”

Apollo opened the door, he couldn’t believe his eyes, “Clay?! I-Is that really you?? Is-Is this real? This isn’t a sick dream right?”

Apollo smiled little at that, “Thanks Nahyuta… I appreciate it… a lot.”

“It is no trouble Apollo. It is the least I can do for your friend.” The entire time he had not let go of Apollo, and he wasn’t planning to unless the other wished to break the embrace.

Apollo hadn’t let go either, it felt good to have someone he could trust with him, “Thank you... I’m sure Clay would appreciate it too...”

Apollo nodded, “Yeah he was… my only friend for years actually…”

“I will say a prayer for him,” Nahyuta offered. There wasn’t much he could do to comfort Apollo except for the only way he knew how. “O Holy Mother, I ask thee to guide the soul of Apollo’s beloved friend through the Twilight Realm and help him to find happiness in the afterlife.”

Apollo smiled little at that, “Thanks Nahyuta... I appreciate it... a lot.”

Apollo took in a deep breath, hugging back “My-My best… and first…. friend… he-he was murdered…..”

“I am sorry to hear that.” Nahyuta frowned, not letting go of Apollo. “He was the friend you made when you first came to America, yes?”

Apollo nodded, “Yeah he was... my only friend for years actually...”

“Rea-Really…?” Apollo looked down at his bracelet to see if it had reacted, he had expected it to, but felt no tightness around his bandaged wrist, “Yo-You’re telling the truth… you aren’t lying…” 

He started to cry tears of joy, for years he had thought Nahyuta hated him, to know that wasn’t true was a massive relief with everything going on, “….I’m glad I can trust you…. especially right now… with everything going on right now… I really do need someone I can trust right now… it’s all so much right now…”

“Of course I’m telling the truth,” Nahyuta replied as his eyes fluttered back open. “Have you any reason to believe I would lie to you? Through all of our childhood, I have never once uttered a lie to you. Even now when I had to keep so many secrets from you, I still have not lied.” He moved to sit beside Apollo and embraced him in a hug once more, muttering something in Khura’inese about how silly his brother was.

“Now, tell me. What’s gotten you into such a state?”

“Okay, I will. ……Glad you didn’t question the whole ‘Nail Polish or Stamp’ ones. Usually people tend who I tell tend to…..”

“Well, I do find both of those things quite odd, but you have your reasons for listing them.”

“Yeah... I absolutely do......” Apollo paused for a minute, appearing to be thinking about something “I should probably call and check up on Vera sometime... and Wocky.... I should see how they’re doing....”

“Yeah… it probably won’t… my nightmares come from trauma… and bad situations…”

“Then there is not much I can do for you, though I do know how you feel…” There were quite a few experiences of his own that caused his own night terrors, but now was not the time to bring them up to Apollo. “If there is anything I can do, please let me know.”

Apollo woke up in the hospital to see Trucy near-by. He tried to say hi after being gone for so long, but nothing came out of his mouth. (Ask-Clay-And-Apollo, My Mute!Apollo verse, I want to do more rps with my various verses)

Trucy tried to calm him down as best she could but she was still on the verge of tears. She couldn’t believe what had happened

Apollo looked over at her, he was shaking, he looked scared and confused all at once. All he knew was that he couldn’t speak.

Trucy looked away. She couldn’t bring herself to tell Apollo the truth. Not here… not now…

Apollo was clearly scared, he was squeezing the sheets

“You’re mute Apollo…” she says finally.

His eyes widened and if the words could escape his throat, he would have yelled ‘WHAT?!’

But instead it was mouthed and his jaw dropped

Trucy sobbed “I’m sorry.. we were too late…”

He saw a pad and pen on the desk next to him and grabbed it, then wrote, “It’s okay… At least I’m alive…”

Trucy looked up at him sadly “what happened?”

He wrote, holding back his tears as he started to remember what happened to him, “Do you mean in general? Or what made me mute?”

“Both?”

The tears built up in his eyes, as he wrote:

Trucy climbed onto the bed and gave Apollo the biggest hug. Refusing to let go.

Apollo hugged back, crying into her

Trucy tried to hold onto him as long as she could. She wouldn’t let him go ever again

Apollo just cried into her while hugging her. After as while he stopped crying and wrote, “Thanks… I needed that.”

Trucy just smiled and nodded as she was unable to say anymore.

He wrote, “I’m glad I was eventually found… even if it took awhile… who knows what they would have done if they had me longer.”

Trucy put a finger to his lips and shook her head “please… no more”

He nodded and stopped writing down That sort of thing and flipped to a new page, and wrote something down he just realized in that moment, “I don’t really think I’ll be able lawyer anymore, unfortunately…”

Trucy sobbed and collapsed onto her brother, burying her face into his chest. She missed him so much and now he could never recover what he lost. His whole identity was gone.

She continued to hold onto him out of fear he would disappear.

He held his sister close, and ran his fingers through her hair, as if to say, ‘I’m here, I’m here.’ 

He wasn’t planning on letting go either, he had missed everyone so much, and he was now finally safe again.And he wasn’t planning on going anywhere anytime soon.

“Yeah… A lot really has…” Apollo sighed, “And the nightmares… aren’t exactly easy to deal with… and they vary from all sorts of things… Explosions, Losing People, Poison, Nail Polish, Fire, My First Boss… all kinds of things.”

“Hmm…” Nahyuta thought for a moment, trying to think of something that might help, but he came up with few answers. “Well, nightmares are usually caused by stress, though I do not suppose a calming cub of tea would help, would it?”

“…Fine. A musical sounds good.” Apollo had something a little different in mind, but he’d go along with Clay’s idea instead. He shifted off of Clay’s lap and sat beside him, allowing him the ability to get up and put on a musical. “What one did you have in mind?”

“A lot has happened since then…” Nahyuta’s gaze flickered to his brother’s arm for a moment before finding it’s way back up to meet Apollo’s. It was clear they both weren’t getting as much sleep as they should, but from seperate issues.

“And how are the nightmares?”

“Yeah... A lot really has...” Apollo sighed, “And the nightmares... aren’t exactly easy to deal with... and they vary from all sorts of things... Stamps, Explosions, Losing People, Poison, Nail Polish, Drowning, Fire, My First Boss... all kinds of things.”

“You’re such a dork,” Apollo sighed before lifting his head and giving Clay’s forehead a small kiss as well.

Clay pet his hair, “You’re a great kisser Pollo…”

“S-shut up,” he stammered, giving Clay a small bop on the head. “I’m like the only guy you’ve ever kissed.”

Send in ‘You’re still awake?‘ for your muse to find my muse in a state of sleep deprivation.

“I’m surprised your not...” Nahyuta sighed as he let his pen fall from his hand to rub his tired eyes. “Between the trips back and forth from California and Khura’in; and working on the enormous caseload at hand, I don’t think I’ve slept normally in nearly a month... I’ve probably done at least twenty appeals this afternoon alone.”

Nahyuta knew it was a big task to undertake. Both he and Apollo had been up to the challenge of reforming the legal system, but as he was the only prosecutor in Khura’in, it was starting to spread him a little thin.

“Today.... has been the first I’ve slept in a few months... I haven’t slept well since  December honestly...” Apollo looked down at his prosthetic arm on his right, “But that’s thats not important, I kinda just passed out... and just woke up 5 seconds ago...”
