As a non-binary person who really loves this game, otome isn't offensive to me at all. Cause it is an otome, at lease for some people who play it. As long as you aren't saying it's only an otome game, you've done literally nothing wrong.

Ahhh, thank you! I always just sort of figured that 'Otome' was just a term for dating Sim. I apologize for my ignorance on that. Because I've seen it used in BL ones not just male x female ones. Even where the protagonist is female or male but you can date either male or female identifying characters!

I've played too many otomes such as Hakuoki, Code:Realize, Amnesia, Cafe Enchante, and many, MANY others, but as I've said before I took 'otome' off as to not upset anyone else ahaha...

the game is literally tagged as 'otome' on both steam and itchio so that anon is getting mad for a term even the devs themselves use so don't feel too bad abt it lol

our life is not an otome game. otome game means a game that is targeted to women, calling our life an otome game is erasing coves queerness and the overall queerness of the game itself considering you can be trans (ftm or mtf), nonbinary, a man, and even intersex.

I've played way too many otome games in my life and have a habit of just calling all dating Sims that lmfao, but I have fixed it, forgive me!
