Hello all! This is the start of a join blog between myself, the Keith mod (@malfunctioningemi ) And my good friend, the Lance mod ( @citrus-bubbles )
This blog is an AU I created based on this post by Luty-chan on twitter!
In this AU, we have Keith Kogane, an 18 year old tattoo artist who has Albinism and can’t stand the fact he has white hair. And so every week he goes to the local salon, Voltrims, where he gets Lance McClain to dye his hair to black for him.
On this blog, you’ll be able to ask questions to either of the two boys and me and my fellow mod shall do our best to answer them as best we can!
In between questions we may post small comics or just art pieces that have to do with the blog.
H-Hello Mister Lukas ! I-Its a pleasure to meet you, first of all ^^ My question is, Wen y-you first killed s-someone as you're first "job". D-Did you feel any regret or remorse f-for what you did or just e-enjoyed the moment ? (I'm sorry for any s-spelling or grammer errors. M-May you have a lovely day)
I still can't believe it, I haven't updated in ages and I've only answered 2 story related questions! :00 thank you to everyone who is supporting me and I'm going to try my best to update whenever I can!
dude, how do you even get that many asks. i started one last month, and I barely had anything come in.
Honestly? I still don’t understand it myself since I don’t post regulary and my blog is still pretty new-
But I’m not new to ask blogging and I’ll give you a few tips under the cut!
Always remember to write out tags - The more tags the better, if you aren’t getting many reblogs then this is the main way that people will discover you. Think as your followers, what would you type if you wanted to see a new ask blog or some work of your favourite character?
Quality or quantity - You need to chose if you would rather reply a lot and quickly or if you’d rather reply slower but with a higher quality drawing. For example, I always chose quality because I think it makes me develop my artwork at the same time. If you are going to chose quantity then I’d suggest making them queued posts so they are more spread out and consistant.
Interact with other blogs - This may seem quite obvious but it’s one of the easiest ways to get noticed! Just sending in an ask is all it takes. This show’s their followers your blog and your followers their blog! It’s a nice way to almost promo both blogs. If you’re like me and have trouble coming up with what to ask, don’t worry! I’ve talked to a few people about this and they all say that they find it awkward too
ALWAYS reply with drawings - I can’t stress this enough! I have seen blogs with strings and strings of just roleplays with other muses. Honestly it makes any followers very quickly uninterested and most the time just damn confused. Replying with drawings makes it much more aesthetically pleasing, after all ask blogs are ART blogs. Don’t get me wrong I love roleplaying and do it daily, but I have a seperate roleplay blog and roleplay in private chats.
Don’t be afraid to send asks in yourself - There is no shame in this, I have done it myself and so have most of my friends, not to mention other popular blogs such as ask-aph-fruk have said that they send in anon asks. This is also super helpful if you want to move the story of your muse forward or just really want to do a certain M!A.
Be helpful and friendly to other blogs - Even if it’s just giving one of their posts a reblog for a promo or sending in an ask saying you love their character, it doesn’t have to be much. This shows that you’re friendly person and are aproachable to them, they may even send in an ask themselves. Don’t be worried if they’re a popular blog or not, any artist loves a kind word for their work. Kindess can go a long way in the ask blog comunity
Don’t be afraid to ask for asks - Sometimes your followers wont know that you don’t have asks and that you can’t post anything. Just a small doodle of your muse asking for them is fine and I’ve done it myself. It’s better to draw something for this since it catches people’s attention a lot better than some text.
Persevere - Once I started this blog I had one (rather stupid) ask and 10 followers for a couple of weeks, I had a lot of doubts and wanted to delete this account all together. But a few days later some people had rebloged my work and I got noticed. Before I knew it I had people messaging me about how much they like my art style and interactions flying in. It’s a matter of time and you must remember that
Stay optimistic - I hate to see blogs go under because they don’t get noticed and it get’s to their mun, which is totally understandable but still heartbreaking. It can really hurt your confidence when you spend days on a peice only to get two notes (which admittedly happened to me the other day). I am having a hard time trying to get noticed in the Voltron fandom at all, the fandom is terrifying in itself. Death threats get sent around because of ships, it’s got to the point where I’m terrified to say who I actually ship. But I’m still there, I’m still creating Voltron content because your artwork is for YOU. No one else, please remember this. Many people, even my art teachers and parents, have told me stuff like ‘Anime isn’t a proper art style’, ‘OMG! You’re such a weeb!’ or even ‘Yeah but can you draw real people?’. It’s frustrating but that’s what being an artist is. You have to realise that the amount of notes do not define you as an artist. You are worth more than your amount of followers and you are so strong in carrying on with your hobby no matter the amount of people who doubted you. I’m proud of you.
Hey just stopping by to say that your blog looks hella interesting and awesome! I can't wait to see more updates!! 676))
Oh my gosh thank you!! I’m trying my best to update it when I can although I already have an unhealthy amout of other ask blogs too so it takes time ^^’
