Hey, thanks bud. I guess I technically could but I'd need to be locked into comms continuously to keep making payments. I also vastly prefer drawing mares over stallions so more than half of potential commissions are already off the table. Beggars can't be choosers, sure, but I ain't begging yet!

So, is this blog dead or have you just done nothing for 4 months?

Oh you know me, just sitting around with my thumb up my butt, yes sir. :P I still draw once in awhile but nowhere near like I used to. Student loans don’t pay themselves so I work a whole bunch to square those away as quick as I can. The drive to draw is always there but the drive to spin the ol’ Royals up again is not. Rather, telling a proper story is not. Messy princesses will always be wicked fun to draw! It’s probably best to ditch the daunting prospect of telling a proper story again and just draw ‘concept art’ every so often. Tell the idea of the Royals instead of the story, you know? We’ll see how it all goes down, but thank you guys for being awesome.

Adding to a previous question and answer: Do you have a patreon that we can support, or another method of providing some regular fan income? While I wouldn't expect it to be able to support you the same as a 9-5 job, it may help aleviate the strain it has? Regardless, I look forward to when you have more time and are able to bring back the princessess: Always bursting with character and life when you draw them.

I made one a fair while back but tend to keep it on the DL because it’s more of a glorified tip jar than anything (which I particularly prefer :P). I’d probably shut it down if it ever became really ‘profitable’ because I have difficulty accepting generosity haha. Don’t sweat it, bud - I need the experience anyway! Graduating from uni is great and all but I ought to have a bit more on the ol’ resume than that, you know? The thought means a lot, however, thank you! I really like drawing the princesses and look forward to it to drawing them some more, too.

For a bit. Ponies unfortunately don’t pay as good as a 9 to 5, haha. Department stores don’t play when it comes to Christmas, either. Maybe after the holidays I might get a breather.

I kinda don't like reboots because it means that all the investment we've had in this incarnation will be gone and have to come back from scratch in the new one and won't be the same. Can't you show that stuff anyway and change the format without it being a reboot, and we would just know what we were seeing with the pillow fight was taking place in the past?

Oh yeah I mean I’m not deleting anything or nothing. Don’t worry about that, bud. I’m honored that anyone would feel invested in this! I’ll be honest though, I’ve been pretty psyched these last few weeks at the prospect of giving this sucker another go. When I started this whole thing up a couple years ago I didn’t know what I was doing and failed to tell the story that I wanted to.

The piilowfight came to define NBR and I feel like it’s lost its way ever since it ended. I’ve struggled to find another spark like that scenario gave and I think having a loose timeline/script and then knocking out asks is the way to go. The first time around I was reacting the whole time and making up stuff on the spot. I’m not all that creative so it was pretty tough! We also have all kinds of new stuff to work with ever since season 4!

I’ve been having a lot of fun already working on this intro, and I can only hope you guys like it. Feels just like old times to me. There’s nothing to suggest that it isn’t all just a flashback, however, so it totally can be if anyone wants to think of it as such. Whatever the case, I’m finally excited to be working on this again!

The princesses have been quiet lately... has the second Pillow Fight Night started? Cadance, have you reasserted yourself?

You know, just this passing moment I had a thought, here’s what I thought, I thunk that a reboot is in order ‘round these parts. Back to the beginning because quite frankly that pillow fight was very fun and there’s a lot more to it that we didn’t see. I think comic-form is the way to roll, too. With a script and everything, you know? Waddaya say?

OK, fine. I’ll use a fork!
