Maria is a human female roughly 23 years of age. She doesn't remember exactly what day her birthday is on just that it was late fall early winter. Maria has the ability to change into an Eliksni but doest't remember how exactly she gained this ability. She had gone into a cave while hunting down a thief she had been assigned to kill, but remembers nothing other than walking into the cave. She has no surviving family that she is aware of and has been living alone since she was 12. Her parents were killed and she has not yet discovered who was responsible for the slaughtering. She has a ghost that she has not yet named and while she has a ghost, she has never been revived. Her abilities as a blade dancer were assumed to have come from her parents and she obtained the ghost by repairing it after finding it on one of her hunts. She tried to send the sassy little ghost off to find someone else to look after, but it refused and now follows her almost everywhere. She has few friends and struggles to trust others. She takes on private bounties as her line of work and refuses to work for the city. -A more detailed description of Maria's backstory is to come later!
Hey Maria, hope you’re hanging in there and doing okay :3
I have no idea how to tell when this was sent to me but I’m doing a lot better now! Thank you for reaching out!
I know it’s been like a really long time since I was last active on here and a lot has changed since I spoke with most people but I’m kinda sorta back so if y’all need me I’ll be a lot more responsive now. Y’all have always been great friends!
“I’d love to dance with you again anytime, Maria. I’ve already had my limit for the day.”
He gave her an Exo’s smile, asking the Bartender for a glass of water as well. Angelo took his time drinking when it arrived, savoring the liquid until it was gone.
“Is there anything else you’d like to do once we get out of here? Despite the closing time, the night’s still pretty young.”
“Same here Angelo.” She smiled back and fell silent again as they drank their waters. She had enjoyed herself tonight despite this not being part of her normal idea of fun. She looked back to Angelo when he inquired about what to do after they left.
“Hm I don’t know that I have anything in mind per say. I was planning to just head home but if you have an idea then I’m open to that.”
After his landing, Jacob had begun exploring his surroundings. He was about five foot eight inches, but he seemed taller due to his boots. He hadn’t darkened his visor yet so anyone looking could see his bright green-brown eyes.
Once he was done scanning the area, he activated his visor and reduced his magnum and set out on this unexpected adventure. After a while it was dark and he heard some rustling coming from a bush. He aimed his pistol over to the area and spoke.
Maria had been out scouting for signs of the group she was following a bounty on. Her long brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail and her twin swords crossed her back. The hunter’s throwing knives were within easy reach of her finger tips. The sound of a ship landing had drawn her attention but the man who got out was not one of the group she was following.
His demand for her to reveal herself from her spot in the brush nearly made her laugh. The poor guy had no idea who she was or how dangerous she could be. Hunters could bring a knife to a gunfight and still come out on top. For the moment she would play along but not until she had moved a few feet from where he had the gun aimed. Her footsteps were silent as she moved and eventually revealed herself.
“Don’t bother with the gun. I could throw I knife faster than you would be able to aim and pull the trigger. I have no reason to do so though.”
The voice was obviously female and he kept a steady gaze. He lowered his pistol, attaching it to his thigh and placed the opposite hand on his hip. “Well if that’s the case then I’m not even going to try engaging.” He replied. He wasn’t a fool though, in case this person was just bluffing he would be able to defend himself fine.
He began to walk down the path, closer to the new person. His visor made the landscape a tad bit brighter so he could see fine. He wasn’t carrying that much firepower wise, he only carried his pistol, two knives located on his chest and ankle, and three grenades. “I’m fireteam leader Jacob.” He added, letting this person in a friendly way now.
Down the center of his helmet, at the top of his visor, a bright yellow stripe went down his helmet. This was accompanied by a bright yellow chestplate with an emblem reading ‘Fireteam Sunray’
Maria stepped a bit farther from the bushes she had been behind and into open space. She could defend herself from this position much easier. She was dressed in her typical hunting gear. Her pants were black and fit to her form and her shirt was the same style but a deep purple hue.She wore no helmet or other protective gear. The hunter eyed the man as he began approaching her.
“My name is Maria. But what are you doing out here? This isn’t exactly the safest area to be in and most people avoid crossing here unless it is absolutely necessary.”
She moved one foot so it was behind the other and shifted her weight to that foot when he continued to move towards her. Every muscle was tense at this point, ready to turn and run if necessary.
After the last song had played and they finally returned to their seats, she asked the bartender for one more glass of water. She looked over at Angelo while her drink was being filled.
“That was by far the most fun I’ve had in a while. Thank you for that.” She looked back to the counter as her glass was set in front of her. Maria took a drink before continuing her statement. “If you want anything else to drink before they kick us out order now. Its on me”

“Yeah there you go.” She smiled at him and let him lead her through the spin. He wasn’t half bad at this and he was catching on quick.
Maria looked at Angelo once he had spun her around. She genuinely seemed to be enjoying herself by this point. “You learn pretty quick and you know im kinda glad Seltik set this up. It’s been a while since I’ve had fun.”
The hunter relaxed letting him take the lead now that he seemed to have a handle on it. Most people took a lot longer than this to figure out swing dancing.
She didn’t really know what else to say so she resorted back to talking about dancing. “I don’t know any of the super fancy moves so from here its basically just speeding up.”

She stood watching the other couple for a moment before putting both hands out to Angelo. She could make it look like he was leading even though he was the one learning.
“Cmon it’s gonna be a bit weird at first but it will be fun. Just remember step with your right foot and drag your left to your right”
“Good. Wanna try a spin before we speed up the first step?”
She smiled at him and continued moving, helping him get the movements right. She did her best to make it look like he was leading too. Maria wasn’t the best at this dance but she knew the basics.

“I do much prefer the country music genre than anything. Hopefully they do play a few more of these.”
She smiled at her new companion and kept moving along with the music. After a second she closed her eyes and tried to relax a bit more and really begin to move along with the beat.
“I’m pretty sure they got a few more of the playlist they have here.”
He eventually began to break off from his own rhythm and followed her lead. He tried matching her movements, attempting to get to know her more by the way she moved to the music she loved.
She watched him trying to match her movements as she swayed along with the music they were playing. Maria let him struggle on his own for a moment while she built up the confidence to offer him her hand. She hadn’t done it in quite a while but when she was younger, her father had taught her a few line dance songs as well as how to swing dance. A few other couples were already making an attempt at the dance. Maria pointed them out to Angelo.
Hunters aren’t as brash, dumb and reckless as they seem. Sure they rush into fights and are the first to die. Yeah they may casually cast aside their own health and joke about it. They’re the irresponsible ones. No order no classes. But Hunters do what they do for a reason. Hunters don’t do it for the credit or the praise. Hunters fight first because if they had to choose anyone to die, it would be them. We fear losing the ones we love. We fear having to live without those we love. That’s why we hate being the last guardian standing. What if were the only ones to go back?
