So is this blog ever gonna revive? I really wanna see some stuff get posted, cause I love some of the things here.

I’ll be blunt: I am flighty. There’s really no telling what I’m gonna do, not even for myself, no matter how dumb that may sound. For all I know I might pick this blog back up in seriousness tomorrow night, or I might let it lie for another 3 months. 

I do intent to come back to it, though. I am incredibly proud of what I and the people who helped me with it have done here, and I’m glad it’s been a source of entertainment to so many others. I just need that sudden flash of inspiration. I’m incredibly bad at doing things out of anything other than impulse.

hey! i was curious if you have any good recs for blogs about persona's lore and all that, I recently got into the series and have started playing P2 and P4G (I finished 5) and I would like stuff to read later, please?

Hm, the truth is, I don’t really read tumblr much anymore myself, aside from proofreading my own posts very occasionally. 

Hey, my dear followers, would you be so nice as to help this person out? Please write some recommendation for Persona Lore Blogs in the responses to this post! Thank you. :-)

I figured, there was no use waiting for some sort of “special occasion” any longer when I could just give you posts whenever I want to. That seemed like the superior outcome for both sides, me and you guys, at least compared to the years-long hiatus we just had, ahahaha.

Well... Let me try to put it into words...

The video shown to us was a technical demonstration of the hardware capabilities of a video gaming system sold by the Sony Corporation, if I am correct. As far as I am aware, said corporation does not, in fact, currently have a program involving the development of humanoid machines. All the more I am surprised by the accuracy with which the proceedings have been portrayed in this cinematic... At least if my sister’s reaction is any indication.

Personally, I do not hold any strong emotions towards my memories of the time shortly after I was activated. My systems initially ran entirely based on the protocols of my artificial intelligence. I did not began to experience actual ‘emotion’ until long afterwards. So, unlike Kara, I can’t say if I was ‘scared’ by what was done to me or if I thought I was ‘alive’.

However...

To imagine what it must feel like... To be fully aware of yourself, yet knowing that you will only be treated as an object to be possessed... A program, which can be deleted and rewritten however the developer pleases and which will never be seen as a living being by anyone one... It seems like a terrible experience to me. One I must have been very lucky to have escaped for the most part...

Yeah, I guess I do find it kind of odd that anybody would act like they can relate now, of all times! I mean, I am a convicted killer now. Isn’t it a bit easy to give pity to a man, after he’s safely behind bars for life? Tch...

Seriously, people acting like they feel some sort of ‘kinship’ with me but are still above my level, just because they have ‘control’ over their lives or some crap like that are just full of bullshit if you ask me! 

You think I wasn’t ‘keeping it in’ all these years, when I was just a good citizen minding his own business? Huh? If you really think you feel like I felt, then come on. I dare you. Get your hands on some sort of amazing power like the one I got. Then we’ll see what you’ll do with it.

I mean, I really appreciate the comparison and all... Heck, being a transforming super hero fighting for justice in the real world would be really, really awesome... But maybe it should be the other way around? I mean, I could be the body- Aw, wait, but he’s taller than me... And stronger. But I’ve got better reflexes. Maybe I *should* be the mind then? But he stays a lot calmer under stress than I do!! Ugh, how to make this combo work without me dragging it down, damn it...

Is this blog dead?

I am still checking it constantly and thinking about how to revive it and when, but the past months have been pretty turbulent for me. I think I’ll start randomly answering letters in no specific interval and just posting them as I find fit, but right now, I’m definitely not able to return to my previous posting schedule from a couple of years ago!

Still, I’ll try to bring some more content soon! Stay put, please ~!

so i just drew what i think my persona shadow would look like (the boss form) and i put all of my insecurities into it. I can barely stand to look at it, but is that a good thing for a shadow?

That’s a complex question. Shadows are the embodiment of everything in our psyche that we either ignore, forget or outright reject, warped by humanity’s natural fear of the unknown, rejection and of inconsistencies. Because of that, it’s entirely expected for one to hate their Shadow, find it repulsive and disgusting, but I think it’s possible to “train” oneself to be able to “look” at it, and I feel that that’s precisely what the Persona games are about; reaching a level of individuation that not just allows you to “look” at your Shadow without flinching, but also to analyze it, find ways to use it to improve as a person and, ultimately, to improve life for everyone around you as well. 

So yeah, it’s totally normal that your Shadow is repulsive to you, but you should take that as a challenge to learn how to deal with it, and understand yourself better, so you can truly be happy with yourself! :-)

I’m alive, no worries, but I have a bad case of “busy life” and am still trying to figure out a time where I can continue this blog without ruining my schedule. I’ll try to get back to it soon!

Is everything alright? Just been a long silence, and worry for the mods is starting to sink in.

Lots of stuff happened and I (Temperance Mod) am still trying to find a way to write on this blog again without neglecting other priorities in my life. I tend to get way too carried away with writing, so it’s not easy for me to find the right balance. The blog will be back (at latest at P5′s japanese release), and I’m fine, no worries, just gotta figure out the right rhythm.

How strong do you think Igor is compared to Elizadeath/Margaret

Given that Igor seems to be Philemon’s closest creation, I believe the reason he’s never been fought so far is because he’d positively annihilate every player facing him with everything other than a “No Damage” Gameshark Code.

Can I just say how glad I am you have the limit on info from new games as 2 months, as Dancing All Night only came out in europe a month ago. Also It seems like you've played the first game now, at least based on lost in context stuff.

I know most of Persona 1, yes, but I still have to actually play it, which makes me really ashamed. I want a better grasp on the game... But anyway, as soon as the Askbox is back open (which will probably be in January), P4D questions will be allowed, as well as P1 questions (which I will check up with friends to make sure they don’t contradict canon, but I can’t make any promises.) Look forward to that!

Does Izanami act in the games like she does in, say, the Adachi confrontation/any letter where she is with Kagutsuchi? Am I forgetting something. Either way, she's hilarious here!

The way we (especially I) tend to write Izanami here is a mixture of how she’s behaving during her boss battle, her portrayal in the Anime and... her portrayal in Persona 4 VisuaLive. Because, regardless of how ridiculous that play duology was, I have to admit, its take on Izanami was golden and majestic, so I just can’t ignore that. Her constant trolling of Adachi was just so wonderful. 

I also kinda based her interactions with Kagutsuchi a bit on how petty demons can be to each other and humans in older Persona games and SMT games. It seemed like the best approach there.

Re: Update Post: Holy crap that is a lot of projects. Are all of them as long-running as this (as in it's a dedicated ongoing thing) or are they more one-off things?

Most of them are longer ongoing, yeah. The thing with me is, I like trying to do big things while also leaving my options open, so I often start several projects at once and stagnate at certain ones at one time when I’m making progress with others. That’s the only way I can assure constant output in general. Doing only one project I’d quickly run out of steam due to monotony. However, that also means that I’ll keep stagnating here and there. ^^; I’m gonna be answering a couple of letters in the next few days tho, no worries!
