Could it be possible that a mortal had given him the strength that he currently held? Even if he knew the answer, how could he handle the results? Would he die without his light? Who knew, but right now, Jehu wanted to live in the moment without worries. Still, he already exposed too many of his concerns. Now it was time to put the shield that he always held back up.

“I don’t know,” He mumbled, looking over at this broken arm. It throbbed, but nothing too terrible now. ”But hey, I’m not dead yet, am I? Wouldn’t want you to worry too much about me.” He offered a forced and weak smile, knowing all too well that it would not be convincing in the slightest bit. He mentally cursed himself for not putting on a tougher front at the moment.

“Even if your concerned face is absolutely irresistible.” Teasing probably only added fuel to the flames, but he didn’t care. So as long as he could satisfy his King, Jehu was happy, and he wouldn’t ask for anything more or less than the very best.

Haou saw how Jehu now avoided it. Even though Haou had let him in, Jehu was not willing to do the same... It did anger him, but what could he do? He could force Jehu into telling him... he rolled over onto his back, looking up at the ceiling.

"... Perhaps my powers will be enough for you." He suggested. Maybe his powers could keep Jehu going as an entity. Of course, it disgusted him knowing Jehu would feed off his energy like a parasite, he's prefer that than watching Jehu die slowly, unable to move or fight or heal or even give his cocky grin like he wasn't able to a few hours ago.

Johan felt odd talking to the king. Especially when said king had Jehu by his side for all eternity now. He had missed that chance when Jehu had offered it… for what? For Judai…

"... Hm. And you are Johan." The king spoke with an unusual malice rather than his bored tone.

Yes, this was Johan. He held the heart of not only Judai but Jehu as well, yet he still had the courage to confront him?

Judai is my light. He is my better half, yes, and we do share many traits he would not like to admit deep down.

Haou gave a sharp turn, the back of his hand hitting Jehu's face. A sharp smack, but he knew Jehu wasn't hurt from it.

"Knock it off." Was his only reply, though his voice didn't have that dark edge to show he was truly angry.

“Cocky?” He raised a bemused eyebrow, smirking mischievously. ”More like honest, Haou.”

He knew the brunette didn’t like openly discussing his feelings in public, but Jehu could try and give him a little push anyways. ”Don’t try and hide how you feel, Haou~”

He grit his teeth. Oh yes, word choice. He had to learn to watch what he said around the other...

"I will once you stop." He glanced back at his book rather annoyed.

“You wound me, Haou,” He groaned through all the sarcasm.

“Please, I know you’re impressed with my size.”

Haou rolled his eyes. He wasn't one to admit his feelings toward Jehu in public either. It was already pushing it he mentioned them in the bedroom.

"Don't get cocky. It really isn't that impressive."

… He really couldn’t argue against that statement when clearly, Haou was right. Still, his stubbornness wouldn’t allow him to back down.

“You know what else is big, right?” He smirked.

Haou scoffed once more. He knew exactly what he was referring to.

"Clearly it isn't your brain."

Haou was right. With the utmost care, Jehu took precious child into his arms, gently cradling her until she fell asleep. ”Right, it’s been a long… day.” He mumbled and nodded, before going to the crib that some of the servants put together. He carefully placed her in the crib, making sure she was nice and warm.

When finished, he let out a small sigh, turning towards Haou. ”We should talk.”

Haou merely turned away, his book in his lap though he was not actually reading.

"... What could there be to discuss?" He put up his wall of cold formality. He didn't want to talk about his emotions, as always. Yet he knew Jehu would continue to push him to do so.

However, even if Jehu was his lover he didn't want to expose any weakness that he could help. Simply feeling having a weakness was too much for him.

He couldn’t argue against his lover. Jehu could practically sense the fear radiating from his inner core, but he wouldn’t press the matter further. He respected the other as the Supreme King and as his lover, so it was all the more important to respect his wishes. Jehu reminded himself to ask him again at a more appropriate time.

He looked down at Saphira, who was staring happily at her ‘parents,’ her big blue eyes wide with curiosity and excitement. She cooed, as if there were no worries rattling her tiny heart. Carefully, Jehu let her take hold of one of his fingers, like she did before.

“She seems happy,” He remarked quietly, keeping his voice low so he wouldn’t scare her. ”I bet she’ll grow up strong and healthy.”

"She probably will..." He looked her over carefully, she was fairly healthy and clean. Perhaps new clothes and a new blanket to wrap her in. Winter would be approaching soon, and that might have been a reason her parents left her.

However, she soon began to get rather tired. Children slept a lot more didn't they? And with how much she had been playing, it was no wonder she was getting sleepy.

Haou, unsure of what to do with the child now, handed her over to Jehu. "... I think she needs to sleep."

Jehu frowned. Of course Haou would avoid the question. Shaking his head, he let out a small sigh before speaking again. ”You’re avoiding the question, which means I’m either right, or there’s something else you’re not telling me.”

Haou did not want to answer. Even to Jehu he would admit any weakness. Especially not if it concerned fear. He was the Supreme King of the Dark World. He had conquered and destroyed. He saw fear in others eyes not felt it, especially not over a mere child.

Yet here he was, sitting here beside his lover, holding a small infant, fearing losing either of them more than anything. And that in turn only made him fear even more over just how human he had let himself become.

"... What would I have to be afraid of?" He challenged, stroking the girl's head gently. She was so soft, so fragile. How could he not be afraid of dropping her and watching her shatter like a small porcelain doll?
