Audio description: Very loud trilling purrring.
Very important kitty noises
"Awww, it sounds like Fault!"
They tap their claws together and chirp followed by a quieter and shorter, but similar trill sound.
H-hi! Faulty, right? ( I think I keep mixing your name with someone else... ) I noticed you don't rest much, so uh Do constructs even need to rest? I saw Defect do that b-but I'm not sure @trickstersts2oc
They’re just a little startled to be called by their actual designation rather than Fault. It's not all that different, just unusual. Fault settles fast though and gives their greeting chirp.
Fault taps their claws together. Yes, it’s beneficial, giving a good defrag, allowing components to rest and a few other things. But, no, it’s not really as necessary as it is with organics even if they do get forced into sleep mode eventually.
They opt to try and communicate the idea with a shrug and thumbs up. Sort of, but they're ok!
The Defect is staring at them. It hasn't said anything, but...
The Fault looks back to it. "What" they buzz.
What do you mean, what? I’ve seen the way you react to “Query: Time science last defragment”. It’s the same way we all react to “Alert: Engaging Voltaic Protocol”.
They repeat the previous actions, giving a shrug and thumbs up, now with something like an assurance chirp.
They're fine.
Sure you are.
The Shadowlancer plays Slumber Party on Fault.
Slumber Party - Skill - 0 energy
Another player with less than 25 hp gains 20 Slumber and may play one extra card while they are asleep. Exhaust.
"!!!!!" No no no no no-
Despite the effort to resist, they are forced into sleep mode, collapsing.
She catches them easily, and lays them in a comfortable position by the campfire. Fault will wake in about an hour.
There we go! Now, @sosaysthedefect, how long has it been since you last slept?
It's wondering how she understands their language when the question comes. It tries to send a status report to her out of habit before realizing its folly. It moves its claws in a counting motion to try and demonstrate that it hasn't been too long... At least for a construct.
How long in days, Defect? And Shadow Magic is the magic of emotion. Less “I understand exactly” and more “I get the gist”. Kinda like my new nephling.
Well, it mostly sleeps to defrag, though it's done so a little more frequently to try and convince Fault to rest more too... So only a day-ish. It curls up next to Fault in anticipation, regardless of the response.
Only a day? Well then, I suppose if you don’t NEED to regain health…
As anticipated, within about an hour Fault wakes up with a start, frantically pushing themself off the ground with their spines raised. Now that they are awake... they need to stay up they need to stay up they
"What happen????"
Seems they're nearly as panicked as when they were forced to sleep.
Hypothetical select screen Thing™. Really happy with how it turned out.
A small construct approaches, giving their greeting chirp and waving. Seems they just wanted to see one of the people their friend had talked about.
@ask-the-fault
Watcher looks over at the short little construct, and crouches down to look them in the eyes.
“Well hello there little one. I’m guessing you’re Fault? Defect talks about you with great praise.”
Oh. This fact completely freezes any thoughts they were having for a good few moments. Finally they nod, yeah they're Fault.
They give a slightly timid questioning beep. Does it really talk about them like that,,,?
The Fault cautiously approaches, giving a quieter version of their usual greeting chirp. Seems they have something, a small note. They hand it to the Ironclad, taking a step back and tapping their claws together.
"Why demon like that? :•(" it reads.
( @ask-the-fault )
“…you…mean…Vakuu?”
Fault nods, not entirely sure if it was something they shouldn't have asked at all.
It's its little guy! Fault approaches, chirping as usual. "Hello! Trickster gave something interesting!"
They hold out the chip labeled "text-to-speech module". It doesn't look like it will last long, but it's not completely dead yet. "Know what do with it?"
(@ask-the-fault )
"?" Defect spots Fault and makes a similarly happy chirp. It peers down at the chip ponderously, tilting its head aside. "Don't know specifically, but seems could be helpful. Maybe examine? Repair? Then make one for both us."
Fault nods. "Is even compatible with us?." Where does the chip even get installed?
"Can see how works if breaks."
H-hey, Faulty. I think I found something that might be of use to you? It looks like something a-a construct might use... *It hands to fault a small chip. "Text-To-Speach module" reads on it. The module seems beat up, and lickely won't last for long. But for now its in good enough state to be used* @trickstersts2oc
Fault accepts takes the component, returning a 'thank you!' chirp. They carefully examine it, trying to gauge how it would be connected and if it can be fixed to last longer.
Defect would probably know what to do with it! So they head off to ask it.
It's a different construct, a smaller one. The Fault gives a greeting chirp before pointing at her and tilting their head. It does not occur to them this may be a taken as a rude way to ask who someone is.
@ask-the-fault
"Another one of you! I'm Runesmith. And who are you cutie?"
"....." being called cute seems to have completely caught them off guard.
They point to themself, them? Means them?
"Considering I haven't made any runes yet, you're the only cute lil automaton over here, so yes you!"
They tap their claws together, somehow loading yet processing nothing.
Finally they collect enough of themself make a small projection, labeling themself "Faulty".
"Well....that's a name. Not the one I'd give ya, but certainly a name.''
Fault shrugs. That's their name, that's what their designation says. What's the issue.
"Personally, I'd call ya Cestus. It's the name of my energy Rune."
They give a curious chirp, what's that?
She does the same thing she did when showing her Runes to Defect, only this time, the lines on her hammer and the rune go a dark blue, and the stone becomes a long squarish oval.
"This lil guy is Cestus!"
They're a bit startled by the impact of the hammer, but they can feel something is happening as the colors in her hammer shift. As the resulting stone hovered in place, Fault slowly paced around it, observing and examining.
Cestus' signal was similar to their own!
"See? You're like Cestus!"
Fault channels a Plasma orb and stores it between their horns, the markings along their head and spines filling with the glow of plasma teal. It doesn't seem to matter that Runesmith isn't a construct, she receives the signaled energy boost.

// a continuation from here, or here
No no no no no no no no! We need more help, uh, where's the kid? ( @theprofanests2 Im sure they have... SOMETHING that makes fire!
// @ask-the-fault , @the-hated-bridge
...Well. Don't they feel stupid. Should've checked if the ropes were made of rope. The beep that follows is likely a swear.
Fault starts to consider that third option they've seen a few other slayers take by now as a back up.
They tilt their head, confused. Didn't they try fire with the lightning shot or is it thinking of something else?
Oh, yea yea yea, do that!
They point to the chasm. Go down?
NOO. NO. no. I don't want to die, do you???
Yeah no you really shouldn't jump in the bottomless pit just to prove a point like the others. Not reccomended.
Ok it meant the lightning then. Attempting to scale down is less of an option for it than them anyway. Claws.
Another Lightning Orb is Channeled, leaving them both to decide what to do with it this time.
Hm... What haven't we tried yet? It feels like we did everything we could, but-but there must be more! Aside from jumping down, we are not doing that.
They weren't going to just jump! Not without a reason to do that rather than try climbing down.
The orb is pondered...Might be a long shot at this point, but they hold the orb so part of the metal ropes is inside. Maybe they could melt through or weaken it enough?
