My personal sexuality headcanons for the STS characters

(Just the slayers only, no Ancients or other characters. If you disagree with me/see them differently that’s fine as long as you’re respectful 💖 it’s really not that serious lmao these are characters from a silly roguelike game with hardly any canon lore to them I won’t be mad these are just MY opinions and how I PERSONALLY view them)

Ironclad — bisexual and has been aware of it since before he made the pact with Vakuu (he’s had crushes on both men and women in his clan) but never really acted on any romantic/sexual feelings he had for anyone because of the ongoing war against the Valleyguard. Never really had a chance to act on it much after making the contract either (for a good long while) because well…Vakuu encompassed and controlled all his thoughts.

Silent — bisexual demiromantic. Despite her being the oldest of the cast, she doesn’t even know what love or romance really is. She’s very much a lone wolf and keeps to herself (very easy when you have vowed yourself to silence, for speaking is weak) so she never had the chance to really form deeper bonds with anyone or even think about her sexuality until she meets the other slayers while climbing the Spire. Her sister issues have made it difficult for her to trust others as well, so falling in love is a very slow process for her. And when she does realize she is in love (it takes her so long in the first place to even identify that what she’s experiencing is indeed love — she knows about the concept, but doesn’t think it’s ever a thing that can happen to herself), the feeling is entirely foreign, confusing, and a little scary.

Defect — definitely asexual, as for romantic orientation…I want to tentatively say panromantic? I ship it with Flaw mostly and Regent (both in a cutesy fluffy way). I don’t think it really cares what gender its partner is; if it’s happy with them it’s happy

Watcher — honestly the character I’m the least “decided on” in terms of sexuality (with her I’m probably the most “open” or “flexible” to whatever other hcs people have for her, even if they “go against” what I’m about to say as it’s not really “set” in stone for me). I’m kind of leaning towards bi but idkkkk. She’s absolutely 100% sapphic (to me, I like Necrowatcher and Silentwatcher too much) but she’s a little in denial about it. She’s not aromantic like she thinks she is (I can see demiromantic though). And she’s not in denial because she thinks that being LGBTQ+ is a sin (it was instilled deeply within her to always be kind, respectful, and tolerant to every person no matter their background — it’s something she’s internalized deeply especially since she is blind and very visibly disabled), but because in her order, she was taught to forego and abstain from earthly pleasures such as romance to maintain the most emotional control possible. Having strong emotional control is essential to her being able to use the divine Stances to their fullest extent so she kind of has to ignore her feelings for the most part and channel them into something else. I also kind of think she’s somewhere on the asexual spectrum at least — I’m not sure where — but she’s not allosexual.

Regent — gay. Like how do you look at Regent and not think he’s a gay man lmaooo. I do think he’s slightly in denial about it for some reason though (despite being aware of it on some subconscious level since his creation/birth). Not sure why I feel this way about him even though Starris is 100% an accepting planet where anyone can be whatever gender or sexuality they wanna be lol (and no one will care)

Necrobinder — LESBIAN. Specifically a femme lesbian. Already said this in another post but this is mostly just vibes to me and just being unable to see her romantically with any of the male characters + Defect personally (I’ve seen a handful of people ship her with Regent for some reason which is a little weird to me tbh…they really give me strong gay and lesbian best frenemy vibes). I think she just kind of came to that conclusion on her own somehow…she’s read a lot of books of different genres including romance novels and couldn’t really relate to any of the female protagonists falling in love with men but she saw one (1) pretty woman while wandering the Spire and quickly fell head over heels for her

What were your first impressions of all the others? I imagine that The Defect might have been a little strange considering where it's from. But it's a sweetie, luckily.

My dipshit brain talks about: The Watcher

I did this on @askblogironclad with lore, but right now i just need to prattle about Watcher.

Why does Watcher feel so weird to play? And I’m not talking a fun weird like Regent or Necro, I’m talking a “the fuck?” weird.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea behind Watcher! I just feel like she’s…bloated.

Imo, a decent amount of her builds just kinda feel like playing an entirely different character to me. Like, Stance Dancing vs Scry is just so DIFFERENT.

Don’t get me wrong, plenty of builds are out there that I enjoy that make the character feel a LOT different to play, like Claw Defect or Forge Regent, but none of them feel like DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.

There’s also things that just feel entirely out of place. Like fucking Pressure Points. It’s just a shit Claw. And before anyone comes for me, I’ve played a modded character called The Falconer who uses Mark INCREDIBLY as a build, and it’s more than just one card!

And don’t get me started on her weird amount of card creation crap. Evaluate, Battle Hymn, Carve Reality, Collect, Deceive Reality, Foreign Influence(which I admittedly do like conceptually), Pray, Reach Heaven, Study, Alpha(which I also do like the idea of), Conjure Blade(OH DONT WORRY I’LL GET TO YOU), Deus Ex Machina(because they used to make Unplayable cards that didn’t ruin your day or have quests tied to them), Master Reality, all of those, while they do seem sorta connected, also aren’t!

Watcher has by far THE most varied “Special Card”(what we used to call Event Cards and, in this case, Tokens) generation. Miracle, Insight, Safety, Smite, Through Violence, Beta, Omega, AND LEST WE FORGET EXPUNGER. And all of them do entirely different things! And it’s on ONE CHARACTER! At least when I do that for Profane, it’s part of their main mechanic/build! None of Watcher’s Tokens, barring Beta and Omega, are connected in any way!

And of course, EXPUNGER. I want to like Expunger. It’s cool! It’s fun! It’s interesting! But it’s on Watcher, an already bloated character with so much more random bullshit. I want to like it so badly. But I can’t bring myself to do it.

Thanks for coming to what ended up as a rant ig. Oh also, if Watcher was in Bleach, she’d be a Soul Reaper, and her Shikai would be Expunger.

silent: unisex nb demigirl maybe trans ??? i dunno if it would classify as trans but they were born more masc leaning biologicialyl. they use they/she pronouns and wont care which one you use usually but she Will gut you if she noticies youre only using she/her dont play with her. partially unrelated but they EXCLUSIVELY top no exceptions

regent: he/him unisex/trans (his majesty/him/his majestys whenever im not feeling lazy with pronouns) . ok bear with me i have two contradicting headcanons for him and thats he was born afab but then transitioned socially into a man and his kind actually all reproduce asexually so No One has a birth sex. its kinda just like schrodingers headcanon where whichever one is best applied at the current moment in time is the one thats true. also another headcanon that regardless of which headcanon is applied his species tend to not gender things. like yes youre a starrian i dont care what you were born as youre a starrian. his pronouns are only masculine because he was told that these pronouns were masculine when he arrived on preon otherwise they would just be they/them or something. hes also gay And homophobic he will be thirsting over a man then calling another guy a slur for liking a man #crueldoublestandards
