Send ‘No, stay back!’ for my muse to has magic of some kind that somehow gets out of control. Making them a danger to anyone around them.

Dunstan walked aimlessly.
Once again, the Valkyrie that had been carrying him had crashed to the planet, leaving him the sole survivor once more. It had been simple, not even a mission, really, simply a relocation of himself and his squad to a new base. Honestly he wasn't even sure why it crashed; there weren't the sounds of rending armor or explosions, it seemed almost like the pilots just dropped dead at the controls, really.
And as such, he wandered onwards, hoping he was going the right way.
Ana had been out gathering what herbs grew on the planet when she saw the Valkyrie crash. Immediately she stopped what she was doing and rushed to see what assistance she could provide. Five minutes later she emerged from the woods and saw a wounded man, clearly a Guardsman, walking away from the wrecked craft in a dazed state. She emerged slowly with her hands up in a gesture that indicated she meant no harm. “Hello?” She called out carefully in case she startled him. “I come in peace. Are you wounded?” That last question felt a bit silly to ask but her old Medicae training never truly went away, even after all this time. “How many others are with you?” Mentally the psyker scanned the wreckage for signs of life within but things didn’t exactly look promising.
Dunstan’s eyes snapped to focus as he heard the voice, turning and drawing his pistol, but keeping it lowered as he actually heard what she said. Dunstan wasn’t exactly super paranoid, and while it is true that this section of the world was safely secured, one could never be too careful.
He spotted the voice just outside the forest, and kept his eyes trained on her. He’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, but kept himself ready in case anything happened, “Who are you?”
“My name is Ana, I live around here, well, mostly.” She replied with a slight shrug as she cautiously approached with her hands still up. “Do you need assistance? I have medical training.”
The dark-haired, amber eyed woman was vaguely aware of the Guard presence on the world but it seemed so far whatever danger they were dealing with hadn’t made it as far as where she was. That being said, the downed Valkyrie was a possible and concerning sign that the enemy may not have been that far away after all. “Did anyone else make it out?” She asked again even though she was already certain she knew the answer.
Dunstan, for all intents and purposes, felt fine. Sure the sun looked like it was in a slightly different position than when he crashed, but hey, maybe he just has a concussion or something, “No, just me, unfortunately. If you could directions to the nearest Imperial Outpost, I’d be thankful. Astra Militarum, PDF, Astartes, anywhere I can get a lift, really. I’ll even settle for civilian craft”
That said... there was still a clear danger given he still wasn’t sure what made the Valkyrie crash, “Actually... have you seen anything suspicious in this area? Xenos, Heretics, anything? Maybe whatever could have caused the crash?”
“Ah, I see. I’m sorry to hear that.” Ana truly did feel for Dunstan. Been there done that brother she thought sadly.
“Well, you seem physically well enough to walk on your own anyway so that’s a good sign. However, I believe the place you’re looking for is about five miles to the northwest.” She pointed in the genreal direction. “There’s a settlement there on the coast and the PDF have a base there. Hell they might even have a spare Valkyrie or two but I wouldn’t count on it. That being said, they do have boats so I hope you have your sea legs.”
“As far as anything suspicious....” Ana trailed off to think for the moment. “I haven’t experienced anything unusual until just now when I saw your Valkyrie go down. It looked like it hadn’t even been shot, it just plummeted.” The perpetual knew that things such as mechanical malfunction, pilot ineptitude or a combination of the two could easily be considered likely explanations but a psychic attack of some sort was not out of the question either. If anything, Ana got the bad feeling that was the likely culprit.
“Do you think you can make it there on your own or do you feel like you might need a guide?” She wondered momentarily how she must seem to the man, some random local coming out of the woods to offer assistance. Even if she truly meant no harm, she wouldn’t exactly trust her either if she were in his shoes.
Dunstan looked in the direction she had gestured, taking note of the terrain between himself and where she claimed his goal was. Woods, hills, a mountain if he was particularly unlucky... if only the Valkyrie crashed closer.
"I'm used to it," he responded, listening closely as she spoke, and thinking on her words. Dunstan was far from a Lieutenant, he knew his way around a map very well. However. He didn't exactly have a map with him; but having someone he just met in the middle of a forest guide him...
He finally returned his Pistol to its holster, "Yeah. If you're willing, I would appreciate a guide. At least until we get in eyeshot of the base"
“Alright, let’s start that way.” Ana replied as she adjusted her pack. Fortunately since she had been out foraging she was packed for a relatively short and arduous hike anyway, complete with her own las pistol and at least a couple of knives under a green cloak in case she were to run across any hostile native wildlife or less friendly locals, both of which were equal possibilities out here in the sticks. Plus of course she had at least a few extra gifts in her arsenal but this Guardsman didn’t need to be aware of that at the moment. “There’s a few passable game trails that lead up the mountain to an old logging road. We can follow that to the settlement and from their it should be a straight shot to the base. By the way, not sure I got your name yet?”
Of course, when two wierdness magnets are in immediate proximity of each other trouble is bound to follow and this little expedition was no exception. It was perhaps only a few minutes into their hike before Ana froze completely stock still in the middle of their path, seemingly listening for something.
“Do you hear that?” She whispered. The soft crunching of pine needles a short distance behind and to the left of them told her they were no longer alone. Perhaps her own paranoia was starting to get to her but a numb tingling began on the back of her neck that didn’t sit well within her mind....
“Sergeant Dunstan Tito De Sergius,” he responded following Ana as she led the way through the forest. Dunstan always enjoyed the forest; the air was often fresh, it rarely held the same danger Jungles did, and often the surrounding shrubbery gave off a feeling of security. That said... Dunstan would also like to enjoy the forest of his own will, rather than being forced to by crashing, so it stands to reason that this particular excursion didn’t bring ease to the Guardsman.
The crack of pine needles most definitely got Dunstan’s attention as he rapidly turned and drew his rifle, combat instincts kicking in, and quietly running through the list of possibilities it could be. Immediately he ruled out his resident Eldar stalker, as the sounds of her prowling were much quieter. He also ruled out several other major Xenos factions, leaving his options down to mostly other people and wildlife. That said, he’s been wrong many times before.
“If you have a weapon,” Dunstan whispered to Ana, not taking his eyes of the spot of the sound, “Now might be a good time to get it ready”
“Well nice to meet you Sergeant.” Ana responded.
As their unseen assailant drew closer the perpetual drew her las pistol. The tingling on the back of her neck told her that whatever was would probably not be held back by such a weapon. A branch cracked mere feet from them and a deep growl rumbled from behind a tree, eliminating the possibility that it was a human that was following them. “It’s here.” She whispered.
And then their stalker revealed themselves.
It was a Phyrr Cat, a fact that was a little surprising in and of itself as Ana didn’t think any lived here. Of course, it was always possible that some irresponsible noble imported the beast as either exotic game to hunt or a pet that got loose. Either way, it was here and making quite a racket, something the perpetual knew was quite out of character for the creatures. It approached the pair with a brazenness that was uncanny. It soon became apparent something was very wrong with the beast. It looked sickly, half rotten even though it was walking. It’s eyes were glazed over in a milky film and pustules covered its flank which Ana soon realized was literally opened at the torso. A monstrously rank odor like a decaying corpse rolled off the thing. The psyker felt her stomach drop as a malignant energy seemed to hit her at the same time the smell did. This wasn’t just some sick desperate cat looking for an easy meal in the wrong place....
“Hey!” She yelled out at the approaching corrupted feline in the vain hope of driving it away. “Get out of here!”
Unsurprisingly, it did not heed the warning. It growled and charged. Ana immediately began shooting and swearing.
Dunstan didn’t even try to issue a warning to the creature, and immediately fired upon it, his Lasgun switched to its highest power setting.
He’s seen this before during his time, and he recognized what was in front of them instantly. The smell of death, the sickly appearance, the puss-filled, rotten and gaping wound, this was no mere wild cat. This was the work of the Ruinous Powers.
Dunstan couldn’t help but scowl at the creature as he worked to put it down as quickly as possible, backing away from the creature to try and gain distance and hoping Ana would do likewise.
All of this said... Dunstan knew that this would undoubtedly lead to a long campaign if Nurgle had a grip on this planet. A long, arduous campaign with Inquisitors and Ecclesiarches and all manners of irritation for the Guardsman.
Ugh, Nurgle. Of all the choices of Warp cancer these idiots had to pick from why did they have go with that giant puss bag? Ana kept shooting at the creature but naturally it seemed impervious to pain and injury as her and Dunstan’s combined las fire seemed to have little effect despite taking chunks of fetid flesh off. It howled and lunged straight for her, causing her to quickly leap out of the beast’s way as it attempted to sink its infected claws into her. It missed, colliding with a tree and seemingly collapsing only to get back to its feet a moment later.
Pleeeeeease do not make me use my powers. I’d really, really rather n....The creature attacking again cut off that thought.
Dunstan uttered a repeated phrase of ‘Damn it’ under his breath. Nurgle, it just Had to be Nurgle. Well... it could have been worse, but even still.
It was clear Lasfire wasn’t going to work, Dunstan had several other options within his arsenal, but he didn’t much want to use them, especially with how close his guide would be to the blast zone.
That being said, the creature’s constant attacks would need more immediate action, and that holding back wasn’t enough. And so, steeling himself to be showered with all manners of rot, as the creature made another attack for Ana, Dunstan charged it with his bayonet, running the creature through and knocking it off of it’s trajectory.
As the guardsman knocked the creature to its back once more (and promtly sent foul smelling liquid everywhere) Ana had an idea that admittedly she probably should’ve considered a couple of minutes ago.
“Get it’s legs!” She yelled out as she aimed for the Phyrr Cat’s limbs and fired off a few remaining las rounds before the pistol ran out of juice. As impervious to pain and harm as it was, certainly it couldn’t do much if it were missing some appendages. One front leg came off, then another.
Dunstan wasted no time quickly drawing his chainsword and slicing off the beast’s legs cleanly off of its body, followed swiftly by its head. True, Dunstan would admit, he probably could have done the same with his Lasgun, and it likely would have kept the spray of the rotten fluid from splattering about him, but Daemons, or at least, creatures that serve the Ruinious Powers must be disposed of quickly, and he had not exactly been thinking properly.
He spat out the small amount of foul liquid that had managed to make it into his mouth, and quickly shook the rest of it off his body. He’d need a shower, no doubt in his mind, but since his skin hadn’t instantly begun to rot, he was fairly certain he wasn’t infected.
But a quick trip to a Medicae still wouldn’t be out of the question.
“Are you alright, Ana?”

The smell of grilling Grox Steak drew Dunstan over to the Marine. Dunstan looked between her and the steaks, blank faced yet in thought. He’s not had much experience with the Emperor’s Angels, but even still, the sight of one of them grilling confused him only slightly, “… My lord?”

Akhenaten didn’t stay behind. The perpetual voxed the Host to inform them they would have assistance in their hunt for the corsairs. On the background she could hear some cheering. Cries of “the more the fucking merrier.” Ah, younglings. The captain who picked up her call asked where would they be meeting the Sayiziz regiment.
“Dunstan, Captain Morales would like to know where will the rendez-vouz be.”
“Of course, Milady. My company is actually waiting at the Astra Militarum Outpost just a kilometer south-by-southeast from here. If you give me the Vox frequency, I can send them the exact coordinates.”
Dunstan finished up his Soda, standing up, “And as I’ve said, we’ll be ready to mobilize within ten minutes. Thank you again for the food, Milady.”
“Sure thing.” And she wrote the vox frequency on a napkin. “Here.” As she handed him the item her thoughts went to the upcoming mission. Eldar were a tough bunch to fight, yet she hoped the Geists could gain the upper hand with their new allies.
Dunstan quickly sent the meeting coordinated to the Vox Frequency he had been given before getting up, “Thank you, Milady. I’ll head over to the meeting point and see if I cant get my Company ready faster. We look forward to working with you on your mission.”
With that, Dunstan offered a polite bow before ducking out of the room and making his own way to the meeting point. As he had said, himself and his company were indeed ready within ten minutes
PSA- RESPECTING MUSES OF POWER
This has to be said because personally I am tired of having to establish this again and again. And it has to do with RESPECTING MUSES OF POWER. And this includes and it never limited any official canon stated titles and positions. Be it Ruthless Queens, Hard Kings, Gang Leaders, or Apocalyptic Masterminds with barb wired bats. Somewhere there is always a nice chunk of muses who are always trying to either; 1) Defy, 2) Rebel, or 3) 1 & 2 but with a try at badass snark. This PSA is concerning all of the above, and all that are included within the category of muses of power.
It is so important that this made clear that when being a MUSE OF POWER there is something that accompanies that and it is exactly that. POWER. Muses of power ACTUALLY hold a fair amount of ACTUAL power over most muses. Especially if it’s in their favored canon timeline. A Queen or King can have a man executed for speaking foul words against them, or the Apocalyptic Mastermind can have someone beat up and locked away because he damn well felt like it. That’s because they hold a certain amount of real power to do so. And it’s so important that with MUSES OF POWER that this is respected. I’m so tired of seeing muses try to be the FORCE OF GOOD or the REBEL OF LAW and the muns get all upset because the MUSE OF POWER in question reacted accordingly.
This is also me making note that a MUSE OF POWER is not required at all to be nice or friendly toward anyone, not everyone is kind or courteous. And neither is a MUSE OF POWER required to be so. Do not show up and expect someone to be loving of this or that muse just because sweet words were given.
IT IS ALSO RUDE TO USE STEREOTYPICAL NEGATIVE BELIEFS OR NEGATIVE TRAITS AND MISCONCEPTIONS JUST TO CREATE ONE SIDED ANGST FOR YOUR SIDE TO MAKE THE MUSE OF POWER LOOK LIKE AN ASSHOLE AND YOURS THE SWEET CORRUPTED INNOCENT.
If the defiance and rebuttal is plotted; then it is alright. Because both of the muns have a full understanding of what is happening and the consequences of said actions. WHICH THERE IS ALWAYS CONSEQUENCES WHERE MUSES OF POWER ARE CONCERNED. You insult someone or spit in their face- I can personally promise you something bad is going to happen. But again, plotted and planned, are always acceptable because as I said. Everyone is on an understanding and everyone is on the same page.

Cries of “the more the fucking merrier.” Ah, younglings. The captain who picked up her call asked where would they be meeting the Sayiziz regiment.
“Dunstan, Captain Morales would like to know where will the rendez-vouz be.”
“Of course, Milady. My company is actually waiting at the Astra Militarum Outpost just a kilometer south-by-southeast from here. If you give me the Vox frequency, I can send them the exact coordinates.”
Dunstan finished up his Soda, standing up, “And as I’ve said, we’ll be ready to mobilize within ten minutes. Thank you again for the food, Milady.”

So here I lay in my 23rd year, HOW I WISH I WAS IN SAYISIZE NOW! It's been 6 years since we sailed away And I just made Ultramar yesterday

Dunstan walked aimlessly.
Once again, the Valkyrie that had been carrying him had crashed to the planet, leaving him the sole survivor once more. It had been simple, not even a mission, really, simply a relocation of himself and his squad to a new base. Honestly he wasn't even sure why it crashed; there weren't the sounds of rending armor or explosions, it seemed almost like the pilots just dropped dead at the controls, really.
And as such, he wandered onwards, hoping he was going the right way.
Ana had been out gathering what herbs grew on the planet when she saw the Valkyrie crash. Immediately she stopped what she was doing and rushed to see what assistance she could provide. Five minutes later she emerged from the woods and saw a wounded man, clearly a Guardsman, walking away from the wrecked craft in a dazed state. She emerged slowly with her hands up in a gesture that indicated she meant no harm. “Hello?” She called out carefully in case she startled him. “I come in peace. Are you wounded?” That last question felt a bit silly to ask but her old Medicae training never truly went away, even after all this time. “How many others are with you?” Mentally the psyker scanned the wreckage for signs of life within but things didn’t exactly look promising.
Dunstan’s eyes snapped to focus as he heard the voice, turning and drawing his pistol, but keeping it lowered as he actually heard what she said. Dunstan wasn’t exactly super paranoid, and while it is true that this section of the world was safely secured, one could never be too careful.
He spotted the voice just outside the forest, and kept his eyes trained on her. He’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, but kept himself ready in case anything happened, “Who are you?”
“My name is Ana, I live around here, well, mostly.” She replied with a slight shrug as she cautiously approached with her hands still up. “Do you need assistance? I have medical training.”
The dark-haired, amber eyed woman was vaguely aware of the Guard presence on the world but it seemed so far whatever danger they were dealing with hadn’t made it as far as where she was. That being said, the downed Valkyrie was a possible and concerning sign that the enemy may not have been that far away after all. “Did anyone else make it out?” She asked again even though she was already certain she knew the answer.
Dunstan, for all intents and purposes, felt fine. Sure the sun looked like it was in a slightly different position than when he crashed, but hey, maybe he just has a concussion or something, “No, just me, unfortunately. If you could directions to the nearest Imperial Outpost, I’d be thankful. Astra Militarum, PDF, Astartes, anywhere I can get a lift, really. I’ll even settle for civilian craft”
That said... there was still a clear danger given he still wasn’t sure what made the Valkyrie crash, “Actually... have you seen anything suspicious in this area? Xenos, Heretics, anything? Maybe whatever could have caused the crash?”
“Ah, I see. I’m sorry to hear that.” Ana truly did feel for Dunstan. Been there done that brother she thought sadly.
“Well, you seem physically well enough to walk on your own anyway so that’s a good sign. However, I believe the place you’re looking for is about five miles to the northwest.” She pointed in the genreal direction. “There’s a settlement there on the coast and the PDF have a base there. Hell they might even have a spare Valkyrie or two but I wouldn’t count on it. That being said, they do have boats so I hope you have your sea legs.”
“As far as anything suspicious....” Ana trailed off to think for the moment. “I haven’t experienced anything unusual until just now when I saw your Valkyrie go down. It looked like it hadn’t even been shot, it just plummeted.” The perpetual knew that things such as mechanical malfunction, pilot ineptitude or a combination of the two could easily be considered likely explanations but a psychic attack of some sort was not out of the question either. If anything, Ana got the bad feeling that was the likely culprit.
“Do you think you can make it there on your own or do you feel like you might need a guide?” She wondered momentarily how she must seem to the man, some random local coming out of the woods to offer assistance. Even if she truly meant no harm, she wouldn’t exactly trust her either if she were in his shoes.
Dunstan looked in the direction she had gestured, taking note of the terrain between himself and where she claimed his goal was. Woods, hills, a mountain if he was particularly unlucky... if only the Valkyrie crashed closer.
"I'm used to it," he responded, listening closely as she spoke, and thinking on her words. Dunstan was far from a Lieutenant, he knew his way around a map very well. However. He didn't exactly have a map with him; but having someone he just met in the middle of a forest guide him...
He finally returned his Pistol to its holster, "Yeah. If you're willing, I would appreciate a guide. At least until we get in eyeshot of the base"
“Alright, let’s start that way.” Ana replied as she adjusted her pack. Fortunately since she had been out foraging she was packed for a relatively short and arduous hike anyway, complete with her own las pistol and at least a couple of knives under a green cloak in case she were to run across any hostile native wildlife or less friendly locals, both of which were equal possibilities out here in the sticks. Plus of course she had at least a few extra gifts in her arsenal but this Guardsman didn’t need to be aware of that at the moment. “There’s a few passable game trails that lead up the mountain to an old logging road. We can follow that to the settlement and from their it should be a straight shot to the base. By the way, not sure I got your name yet?”
Of course, when two wierdness magnets are in immediate proximity of each other trouble is bound to follow and this little expedition was no exception. It was perhaps only a few minutes into their hike before Ana froze completely stock still in the middle of their path, seemingly listening for something.
“Do you hear that?” She whispered. The soft crunching of pine needles a short distance behind and to the left of them told her they were no longer alone. Perhaps her own paranoia was starting to get to her but a numb tingling began on the back of her neck that didn’t sit well within her mind....
“Sergeant Dunstan Tito De Sergius,” he responded following Ana as she led the way through the forest. Dunstan always enjoyed the forest; the air was often fresh, it rarely held the same danger Jungles did, and often the surrounding shrubbery gave off a feeling of security. That said... Dunstan would also like to enjoy the forest of his own will, rather than being forced to by crashing, so it stands to reason that this particular excursion didn’t bring ease to the Guardsman.
The crack of pine needles most definitely got Dunstan’s attention as he rapidly turned and drew his rifle, combat instincts kicking in, and quietly running through the list of possibilities it could be. Immediately he ruled out his resident Eldar stalker, as the sounds of her prowling were much quieter. He also ruled out several other major Xenos factions, leaving his options down to mostly other people and wildlife. That said, he’s been wrong many times before.
“If you have a weapon,” Dunstan whispered to Ana, not taking his eyes of the spot of the sound, “Now might be a good time to get it ready”
“Well nice to meet you Sergeant.” Ana responded.
As their unseen assailant drew closer the perpetual drew her las pistol. The tingling on the back of her neck told her that whatever was would probably not be held back by such a weapon. A branch cracked mere feet from them and a deep growl rumbled from behind a tree, eliminating the possibility that it was a human that was following them. “It’s here.” She whispered.
And then their stalker revealed themselves.
It was a Phyrr Cat, a fact that was a little surprising in and of itself as Ana didn’t think any lived here. Of course, it was always possible that some irresponsible noble imported the beast as either exotic game to hunt or a pet that got loose. Either way, it was here and making quite a racket, something the perpetual knew was quite out of character for the creatures. It approached the pair with a brazenness that was uncanny. It soon became apparent something was very wrong with the beast. It looked sickly, half rotten even though it was walking. It’s eyes were glazed over in a milky film and pustules covered its flank which Ana soon realized was literally opened at the torso. A monstrously rank odor like a decaying corpse rolled off the thing. The psyker felt her stomach drop as a malignant energy seemed to hit her at the same time the smell did. This wasn’t just some sick desperate cat looking for an easy meal in the wrong place....
“Hey!” She yelled out at the approaching corrupted feline in the vain hope of driving it away. “Get out of here!”
Unsurprisingly, it did not heed the warning. It growled and charged. Ana immediately began shooting and swearing.
Dunstan didn’t even try to issue a warning to the creature, and immediately fired upon it, his Lasgun switched to its highest power setting.
He’s seen this before during his time, and he recognized what was in front of them instantly. The smell of death, the sickly appearance, the puss-filled, rotten and gaping wound, this was no mere wild cat. This was the work of the Ruinous Powers.
Dunstan couldn’t help but scowl at the creature as he worked to put it down as quickly as possible, backing away from the creature to try and gain distance and hoping Ana would do likewise.
All of this said... Dunstan knew that this would undoubtedly lead to a long campaign if Nurgle had a grip on this planet. A long, arduous campaign with Inquisitors and Ecclesiarches and all manners of irritation for the Guardsman.

The smell of grilling Grox Steak drew Dunstan over to the Marine. Dunstan looked between her and the steaks, blank faced yet in thought. He’s not had much experience with the Emperor’s Angels, but even still, the sight of one of them grilling confused him only slightly, “… My lord?”

+That’s understandable. Sorry about spooking you.+ And so she kept eating. Once the astartes was done she went for dessert which was a slice of chocolate cake with vanilla icecream. Akhenaten enjoyed it quite a lot. It tasted like a piece of heaven.
She took her time in enjoying the food. All that was missing was a glass of soda pop, and it would be perfect.
Dunstan took a breath or two to steady himself, the gnawing slowly fading back into calmness. Finishing shortly, Dunstan did likewise. Despite this, a new thought began to arise in his head.
“Milady, forgive me if it might spoil the mood, but the Astartes are rarely seen on these kinds of worlds unless something big is going on. Is your presence here a personal trip, or should I prepare my Regiment for action?”
Akhenaten pursed her lips. She kept eating the dessert but one could feel something was bothering her. Not wishing to startle Dunstan again the psyker kept eating the cake until it was gone. “My chapter came to this world pursuing some eldar corsairs who attacked the countryside. Our suspicions are that they are the allies of another corsair band we destroyed some time ago. Does your regiment have cybermastiffs? The faster and meaner the better. Those fiends are hella quick and surprisingly strong.”
Dunstan nodded, “We do. They’re attached to one of our Companies especially for situations like this,” Dunstan didn’t need to be told how strong they could be. He’s personally seen them rip an Ork Kommando limb from limb, “If you wish, I can have them here within minutes.”
Truth be told, Dunstan was concerned he hadn’t heard anything about these attacks, though he assumed his superiors considered it a need-to-know basis, as always, “I can also mobilize my company if you’d like us to reinforce you as well, Milady.”
Akhenaten went to grab two root beer soda pops from the fridge and put one right in front of Dunstan. “I do appreciate both of your offers, and I say yes to both. The more the fuckin’ merrier. I have fought Aeldari before, and their speed surpasses even that of a space marine’s. Specially if they are in the higher ups. However, if there is one thing they hate it is Untouchables. Would you happen to have any in your squad? I have a plan.”
Dunstan gladly accepted the soda. He felt somewhat selfish, enjoying the nice food while the rest of his men were stuck to their rations… but it was hardly the first time, nor was it the first time he caught them doing similar.
Eldar, however… Dunstan certainly knew a certain someone that wouldn’t approve of him mobilizing against Eldar, but if they were marauding the Imperium’s worlds, then he’d do his job regardless, “No Milady, not even in my Company. I could asking the rest of my Regiment if you’d like, I’m sure there’s at least one somewhere.”
“I would quite appreciate it if you asked around. My plan is to use the Untouchables to push the eldar into the jaws of the cybermastiffs. That’s the bare bones of it, though. Any suggestions whether from you or anybody else are appreciated.”
Dunstan pulled out his datapad and began to type away at it, searching his Regiment’s registries for one of the Blanks Sayisiz occasionally spits out, “This is assuming that they don’t immediately attempt to kill the trooper instead of fleeing. Milady, are the corsairs armed with Jetbikes or other craft, or are they on foot? I might be able to requisition some ground transport to help chase them down if their speed is going to be a problem.”
She bit her bottom lip. “In such case, astartes will be sent along with the untouchables for security reasons. And as for your question, the corsairs do have vehicles such as jetbikes so the ground transport would be appreciated.” The astartes then opened her soda pop and took some sips from it. Deep inside the part of her who craved violence and death was getting agitated. “Bloody corsairs.”, she spat.
Dunstan could feel the rage in the Astartes. In a way, Dunstan could empathize; he know what it was like to have to wrangle fury before it over came you…
Now if only he could remember when he did.
“Aha,” Dunstan had found it, “Corporal Riza Alexi, Omega-Level Psyker, born, yadda yada yadda, ah, there we are, assigned to the third Company of the First Sayisiz Regiment. I’ll have her here under ten minutes, Milady.”
With the Blank found, Dunstan began work on getting the vehicles requisitioned, “Milady, I have to ask, will your Astartes be able to fit within our transports or will they be bringing their own?”
Akhenaten kept her distaste for blanks hidden under a mask of professionalism. She drunk more from her soda pop. Some pleasure before dealing with the nastiness was necessary. “We do have our own transports. Thanks for the offer though.” The perpetual then went back to her soda.
Dunstan finished up his tasked before putting the Datapad away. All it would take would be ten Terra-Standard minutes before they’d be ready to assist in the hunt. In the meantime, Dunstan returned to his own soda, thinking about what laid ahead on the impromptu mission.
