"My, my my, well if it isn’t the infamous Mad Hatter?"  The Red Queen trailed her ruby fingernails across Jefferson’s shoulder.  "Hope you don’t mind, darling, I just came in for a visit."

"I do mind, actually." He cocked his head at her, speaking with an annoyed sarcastic tone. He flashed a grin, "Of course, my opinion never really matters does it?" 

"What do you want?"

"Once I heard that Cora has taken in a new...friend, I just had to drop in and meet you."  She decided to ignore the derision in his voice while she sat down across from him, smiling sweetly. "In fact, Wonderland does not get very many visitors, especially ones as attractive as you."

Why doesn’t my damn inbox tell me what I have stuff?

Alice

Mun - At first I was kinda meh about her, but she grew on me.  Then I saw someone compare her to a live action Sailor Moon, which made me love her more.  Can’t get enough of girls who save their boyfriends, believe in love, and kick ass in a frilly dress.

Muse - For a while, Ana resented Alice for how “easy” she made love look.   She and Cyrus were so annoyingly happy that it frustrated her. 

Cyrus

Mun - I kinda have a huge crush on him.  Not sure why.  Not ashamed one bit.

Muse - Ana will always laugh a little at the poetic way he insists on talking.  Despite that, she will be forever grateful/impressed that he could see through her walls.  She will never admit it to him, but she believes that she never would have redeemed herself without Cyrus.

Will

Mun - Hilarious, perfect companion to Alice, and I cannot wait to see him join OUAT.

Muse - Literally the funniest, sweetest, most thoughtful, bravest, and sexiest man she has ever seen.  When she is with him, she can forget about everything and just be herself.  She loves to simply joke around with him and playfully tease him around the palace.  Everyday, she is thankful that he came into her life and has sworn to herself that she will never let him down again.

Facing the Past - @coraqueenofhearts

Anastasia was completely torn about how to react to the woman standing before her.  On one hand, she saw someone who had manipulated her and caused years of pain and loneliness.  At the same time, Ana could see that Cora was a woman in pain.  She could see that Cora was truly sorry.  

Once Cora said that she was a “surrogate daughter”, Anastasia felt tears fall down her cheeks.  Despite all the horrors, there was still a piece of her that thought of Cora as a better mother than her own.  She was her first friend in Wonderland and taught her everything she knew about magic and how to be a queen.  For a long time, she was grateful for everything that Cora had done for her.  Once she had learned about Cora’s betrayal, Anastasia felt like she had lost her family all over again.

She choked down tears before Ana looked down and spoke.  ”What about Will?  Not only did you take out his heart but…  I… He won’t even tell me all of the things you made him do.  How could you do that?   What did he ever to to you?”

Anastasia wiped the tears off of her face and looked the older woman straight in the eye.  Even though she was falling apart, she wanted to at least appear strong.

Cora sighed, torn between wanting to comfort Ana and knowing she should keep her distance. She had hurt this girl, and the damage could never be undone. For a moment she was struck by a wave of self-loathing…she had abandoned her first child, abused and irrevocably damaged her second, and manipulated and interfered in the life of a girl she had all but adopted during her reign as Queen. 

The infant she’d dropped in the forest had gotten the best deal.

Cora hated the feeling of guilt- it held her heart in a vice grip, and the pain was almost physical. It felt like something burning. It felt like weakness. “The Knave…he asked me to take his heart, but only because I’d said…I told him that you weren’t coming that day,” she explained, staring away from Ana’s face- she couldn’t meet her eyes, if she did she was certain she would break. She had wept openly in front of Regina, but she would not for anyone else. Not even Ana.

“He did nothing to me. But I…” Cora trailed off, turning her gaze downwards, remembering Jonathon. There was a flicker of an old rage, a hurt that had forever marred her. She hadn’t truly loved him at the time, but there had been a spark of attraction. She had liked him even before she’d thought he was a prince. She had trusted him, given him everything, and in return she’d been left alone and pregnant in the rain.

"He reminded me of someone from my past. I couldn’t look past that, I thought…I was wrong, Anastasia, I see that now, but in some way I thought I was protecting you."

Anastasia could see that this was a very different woman than the monarch and mentor that she knew in Wonderland. She saw that her heart made Cora a truly better woman.  As she realized this, she knew that this woman was not the one who she was angry with.  The Queen of Hearts was gone and in her place, it was just Cora.

Anastasia looked around for tissues, but could not find any.  She looked down awkwardly at her feet, searching for the words to say.  "I can tell that you regret what happened, but I...I don't think that I can ever forgive you.  Certainly you already know that."

She looked back up at Cora's face for a moment.  Ana decided that she had to let go of the anger that she had.  Back in Wonderland, she had vowed to become a better person, and this would certainly be a step in that direction.  Yelling at Cora would not change the past but at least the young queen managed to gain some closure on her past.

"For what is it worth, you are not the worst mother figure I have ever had."  She choked out a uncomfortable chuckle.  "In fact, I really did enjoy our magic lessons.  Thank you."

So they were negotiating now? True enough, food in the forest had grown harder to come by, even when the feline was shrunk down to size. It had other intentions for the shiny baubles, but her new offer could be of use as well with a bit of tweaking. 

"It’s true the Duchess hasn’t been as inclined to provide of late," the feline pouted with voice alone, slouching down to the nearest seat-worthy surface. Actually the Duchess had outright booted the feline from her premises, but the cat wasn’t surprised. It was certainly better than becoming a pig like that wretched baby. 

"I do so miss a warm bowl of cream…" the feline confessed and licked lips. Perhaps this change about White Queen instead of Red would be an improvement, if she was indeed willing to play the game instead of try so quickly to solve every problem with violent magic. The grin split the feline’s face perfectly in half.

"Very well, I’ll tell you what I know of the Jabberwocky for a bowl of cream. Warm or chilled, surprise me." the feline agreed, perched ever so proudly at the thought of a successful transaction in progress.

Anastasia widened her eyes in surprise.  She had no idea that her suggestion would work so well.  Apparently, becoming a better person was easy. With a quick flick of the wrist, a large bowl of chilled cream appeared right before the violet feline.

"Darling, this information is worth much more than just one measly bowl of cream.  Once we are done here, you are welcome to go to my kitchen and ask the cook for whatever you would like."  The White Queen paced nervously getting ready to swallow her pride.  "In fact, if you help me to stop the Jaberwocky....you can...come more often."  These words left an unpleasant taste in her mouth.  However, she was determined to start treating her people, and other residents, better.  She may as well start here.

"So kitty cat, do we have a deal?  I find the Jaberwocky and you have a nice little meal ticket?"

How Ana and Jafar Met

Jafar waved his hand without a word, and suddenly the carpet shot off into the sky, leaving the queen’s castle behind. Before Jafar had come there, he flew around Wonderland for a while, gathering what information he could on the layout of this new world, and learning his way around… and also searching for the perfect place to set up his own base of operations. As they fly, Jafar smirked silently at the queen’s reaction to their current situation, the girl clearly had never flown before. The scenery of their flight was beautiful and clearly romantic, but the notion was completely lost to Jafar, who was more focused on the task at hand.

The carpet flew to a large, empty mountain, sitting in the outskirts of Wonderland. “This will do nicely,” Jafar said calmly, taking his serpent staff and throwing it toward the mountain, watching as the staff lands on the face of the mountain and remains in an upright position, its bottom cutting enough of a hole to keep from falling. Jafar waved his arm, and suddenly, a massive swarm of red scarabs fly out of the small hole made by the staff, the swarm’s numbers growing more and more in size, all of them skittering around the mountain and covering a large chunk of it. The scarabs began piling on top of each other, slowly transforming into different shapes until, finally, a large, hourglass-like castle sat in their place, its size rivalling the queen’s own castle. Waving his arm and chanting quietly in another language, some magical smoke began to appear around the castle, no doubt transporting Jafar’s belongings into his new base. He could have done this before he went to meet the queen, Jafar supposed… but this was an impressive display of his power, one that he felt he needed the queen to see before their partnership could begin.

The carpet descended downward, stopping at the doors to Jafar’s new castle. Jafar opened the doors and headed inside, not bothering to be polite or let the queen in first. Jafar’s castle was dank, dark, and colorless, suiting his personality quite well. After a bit of walking, Jafar entered a small chamber, showing her the two other genie bottles he possessed, and the book of knowledge pertaining to genies that Amara had given him so long ago.

"The spell I seek to cast requires the use of three genies," Jafar said slowly, walking over to his staff and picking it back up. He also made a mental note to move his bottles somewhere else after this encounter, so the queen cannot break in and steal them later. "As you see, I currently only need one more, and everything I want is mine. I feel I’ve proven my worth as a sorcerer to you, now perhaps it’s time you prove your worth to me."

The Red Queen took a moment to look around once she stepped off the carpet.  Jafar had quite the...unique method of travel and she needed to regain her equilibrium before continuing.

As she watched Jafar create his castle, she could tell that his power could perhaps only be matched by his ego.  He was clearly not a man to triffle with.  As she peered across the hall, she noted his choice of, or rather lack of, decor.  Between his utter rudeness, his need to show off, and his dank castle (that frankly was probably compensating for something), the Queen could tell that she would not enjoy a moment of working with Jafar.

However, once she looked at the book, all her feelings of distaste subsided in favor of intrigue.  As her cherry fingertips turned each page, she became more and more convinced of Jafar's claims.  Every word confirmed what he said.  Finally there was a way to achieve everything she ever wanted since she began to learn magic.  It was all laid out and ready for her.

"So darling, all I have to do is provide you with a genie?"  The Queen placed her hand on Jafar's shoulder, smiling sweetly.  "There is one genie running about Wonderland.  He is traveling with the most dreadfully annoying girl.  I have eyes and ear all around.  If you bring me back to the castle I can easily find both of them by tomorrow evening."

Anastasia was shocked.  Cora was clearly not the heartless ruler who had left Wonderland so many years ago.  There was a kindness and concern in her eyes that Anastasia had never seen before.  She found Cora looking for a fight and she was simply not prepared for this.

She looked down for a moment as she gathered her thoughts.  ”I just want you to tell me why.  Why did you do it?”  Anastasia felt tears welling up.  ”Why did you make me marry the king, or teach me magic? What was I to you?  Did you ever even care about me?”

Cora sighed- she supposed after everything she did owe an explanation. “I told you once that you reminded me of myself. That remains true. Rather like you, I chose power over love, a throne over a chance at real happiness. You were like a living validation of those choices. If you went back to him and found happiness it would have meant that all my choices were wrong, that I had sacrificed my heart for nothing.” She glanced up at Anastasia apologetically. It wasn’t much of a reason, but it was all she had. She had been obsessed with the young Queen, determined to ensure she walked Cora’s same path.

"I suppose I must have cared in some way. I did see you as a surrogate daughter, but that…" Cora stopped. That train of thought was painful. Oh, Regina. "That probably wasn’t in your best interests either."

"You should know…if you don’t already…I had torn my own heart out. But not too long ago my daughter returned it to me. I am sorry, for what I did," Cora said with some difficulty. Apologies still didn’t come easily to her.

Oh, would you look at her change her tone and colors. As inconsistent as ever, the feline wasn’t entirely surprised. Personally, the cat thought that perhaps the Jabberwocky being released might be a good thing for the land. It wasn’t nearly as mad as it should be, especially since this out-lander had taken the throne and gone soft. Things were going too smoothly, so it was high past time a monster of that magnitude stirred up some worry. 

"Oh I know…” The grin became a full smile, rows upon rows of sharp teeth as it drifted onto its back. “But that’s your problem, isn’t it?” the feline was already disappearing, only the stripes teeth and eyes remaining soon enough. No laughing matter, who did she think she was talking to? 

"I was just kind enough to inform you…” now, what would the queen do with that information? The feline was gone, but then the head reappeared,

"Oh, but if you wanted to know more, I’ll tell you in exchange for one of your jewels. You have so many to spare…” it seemed a more than fair deal, “Unless you have something more interesting to offer.”

Anastasia had to hold back the urge to char the blasted cat with her magic.  She had told herself that she would never use magic again after everything that had happened.  At the very least, she did not want to use it to hurt other's anymore.  The Queen knew using that power could be a slippery slope, but perhaps desperate times called for desperate measures.  

Suddenly she had another idea.  Despite the Cheshire Cat's intelligence and powers, it was still a cat. "Darling, I have plenty of jewels, but what use would they be to you?  I propose that in exchange for information, I could provide you with some fish or even some delectable mice.  I hear that food has been rather scarce in the forests and I am willing to bet that my jewels are not very tasty."

What does the mun think of the muse? I think Ana is just one of the most fabulous and real characters that I have seen.  I love that she manipulative, bitchy, and kinda selfish while also being brave, caring, and one of the few confirmed cases of true love in OUAT!  I can't decide if I prefer her as evil and scheming or as sweet and loving, I just love her always!

What does the muse think of the mun? So that is kinda a tough one...I think I share a lot more in common with her during her pre-Wonderland time.  I can be a tad naive and a hopeless romantic.  As the Red Queen, she would probably see me as weak because I am not really one to take what I want.  Also my incessant bubble-y-ness would probably annoy her.

Favorite ice cream flavor? Mint chocolate chip!!

What was your biggest achievement thus far? This will probably sound cliche, but I would say graduating college.  I was the first person in my family to get a degree AND I had a few pretty rough things happen just after my first year that could have left me unable to continue (mildly traumatizing, inbox me if you are curious).  While it was difficult for me to get through it, I found great friends, make some awesome connections, got involved in some great causes, and now have a job where I can hopefully make the world better!

What do you like best about yourself? I like that I am pretty easy going and up for anything.  I don't get very hung up on what my plans are and can be really flexible at a moment's notice.

What’s your best talent? I am not 100% sure if this counts as a talent technically, but I am good with kids.  And by good with kids I mean for 8 hours a day I work with a group of 13 preschoolers with only one other adult in the room and I somehow maintain sanity

What do you like best about roleplay? I like being able to be creative and get out of my own head and into someone else's.

What’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for you? At one point, when I was really not doing well, my boyfriend's parents took me in, rent free.

Did you have a favorite teacher in school?  A bunch, really.  The first that comes to mind was my high school Early Childhood Education teacher.  I learned a lot from her, but she was also very willing to go an extra mile for some students and helped me get a job AND connected me to some resources that were helpful.

What do you love most about your friends? I really just love that I can goof off with them, talk about nothing, 

How excited are you for summer? SOOOOOOO excited!  I love warm weather, plus it means lots of fun stuff I can do with the kids!

"Surprised to see me?  Once I heard you were here, I thought it would be rude not to visit, perhaps I can even meet other people whose lives you have ruined."

Anastasia felt her stomach drop the second she made eye contact with Cora.  Despite this, she stood proudly as she spoke.  Cora taught her how to act like a queen and she was not about to prove herself to be a failure.

"I thought you might like to know, since you left Wonderland, I reconciled with Will Scarlet.   He told me some interesting things about his time working for you.”

Cora recognized the under-handed jab for what it was, and glanced downwards. It was just like something she might have said once. She had taught her protege well, after all. She felt a pang of guilt at the mention of the Knave- a wrong choice if ever there was one. She had forced Anastasia to walk her some path, needing that validation and justifcation of all her choices in a land that made her question everything, where Regina’s shocked and angry face haunted her along with the memory of that mirror. 

She didn’t think Anastasia would find that to be an acceptable excuse. “There’s nothing I can possibly say to you, is there?” she sighed, forcing herself to meet the younger woman’s eyes. “You clearly already know the truth of it. What do you really want from me?” Cora didn’t think she had much to offer- perhaps an apology for her incessant manipulations- but there was really nothing else she could do for her former student. Not now- that bridge had been burned.
