Noticing the change of expression in the other, lights dimmed as hers changed as well, shifting into guilt.

“Oh... Well, you don’t have to if you don’t want to. It’s getting dark, you should probably head home.”

But then Demi thought. Bad things happen in the dark... Dangerous things. The instinct that was (literally) built into her came into action, and immediately she was beside the stranger.

“I’ll walk you home! Who knows what will happen this late in the day? Don’t want to get jumped, would you?”
