Info:

Ever since they realised that their special talent is baking and making sweets, she wanted to own a bakery/candy shop. And eventually, she opened one in Ponyville.

To her dismay, there was already a bakery in ponyville called Sugarcube corner. She saw Sugarcube corner as a competitor to their shop, and had a one sided rivalry with Mr and Mrs Cake and Pinkie. Especially Pinkie because she found her annoying.

Eventually, Candy learns from Twilight that friendship is magic (wowie wow the name of the show) and she becomes friends with Pinkie (and eventually lovers heehhehehe yay one sided enemies to not one sided lovers)
