Thank You For 10 Years
Hello, everybody! My name is Kody. I used to be hyperfixated on South Park back when I was sixteen. It provided me a form of detachment and entertainment in a really rough time of my life. I wasn't in a good place, and I had a hard time connecting to the people around me. I wish I could say, "South Park and it's characters helped me so much, and they provided me the strength necessary to persevere."
But that's not the truth. In actuality, I cringe at the fact that I used to obsess over this show in a way that it doesn't really warrant. But I can't bring myself to hate it. I especially cannot bring myself to ever feel embarrassment or shame about ever being a part of this blog.
Because I love the people that used to be here.
Myles, Ash, Tav, and Saturn. They used to put their all into this blog with their amazing art that I was so fond of. I only made a few posts on here, but they always encouraged me to make more and post what I can. Their passion inspired me.
They became my best friends. I cannot say that South Park gave me the reason to fight back against my abusers and awful environment, because only they deserve that credit.
I can never hate this blog, because it was something that we all used to love together! So while I can at least say that, yes, this blog is most likely dead, I can say that I will always love the memories that it withholds. Thank you guys, too -- the fans who asked questions and stuck around to make this blog become what it did -- for making such a great place, and helping spur on such a wonderful project to have been a part of!
I don't talk to any of the other mods anymore. Drama, time, and real life got in the way a lot, and we all just... drifted apart. I wasn't the most well-rounded, smartest, or adjusted teenager/young adult, and I will say that it was my own hand that split that drift further.
I have to lie with the choices that I have made. But that doesn't mean that I can forget the good times that now make me who I am.
I am happier now! I am 26 years old, with an amazing boyfriend, living comfortably in our small apartment with our two cats and noisy dog! Life could definitely be improved, and I want to be a published author someday. But it's thanks to the old friends who were behind this blog that made this reality and future possible, a decade later.
Without them, I never would have realized that I deserved better, and start actively fighting for it.
I'll miss the times that we had. I think of this blog often, especially as it came closer to the 10 year mark. This is my sendoff, to the people that I hold dearly who have went on their separate ways. To the people I know so distinctly, even years later. To the people who hold a piece of my soul, unknowingly.
And to the fans who have made this possible, for me and for them -- you guys shown me what it was like to be a part of something bigger, and to feel seen! I hope to see myself in your eyes again!
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Life has so many colors, and I hope to share the journey to that revelation with others someday, just as I was shown!
